Are you having secret meetings? Sirius won't tell me anything! Why am I learning about this from Ginny? The Weasleys are involved. Who else?

If I'm the bloody Chosen One, why am I not a part of your organization? Is it because of Dumbledore? He never talks to me about any of this stuff! It's maddening.

What is the Order?

The Order of the Phoenix
It was established when you were but a happy thought in the hearts of your parents.

They were founding members, along with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. Which is partly why those men assisted in raising you upon your miraculous victory as a child.

I understand why Professor Moody... I mean, Barty Crouch Jr. rigged the tournament in my favor. The cup was a portkey. What I don't understand is why Voldemort needed my blood.

When Lord Voldemort learned of the prophecy, that you were destined to destroy him, he sought to kill you. Your parents died trying to stop him. You were in your grandmother's arms when he entered the room.

Her sacrifice protected you through the use of very old magic — a charm of purest love that prevented Professor Quirrell from even touching your skin.

Voldemort knew that the only way to defeat you was to acquire your grandmother's sacrificial magic through your blood.

About that prophecy Sirius and I stole last year from the Department of Mysteries...

Xavier tricked me into showing it to him. Why?

Be careful of Xavier.
He and his father are very likely Death Eaters.
Keep that secret.

But everyone knows the prophecy by heart.

What does the proper wording matter?

Two reasons.
First is the ending.
Neither of you shall live
while the other survives.
Voldemort knows that he must kill you himself.

The second likely pertains to the circulating rumor that another child from that time has survived. Lord Voldemort needed assurances that you were indeed the one who was prophesied to vanquish him.

There is no doubt.
Voldemort made you the chosen one by marking you as his equal.

However...
it could've easily been a different boy.

It's a long story.

Allies were scarce during the war. It was hard to know who to trust in those days. The Order of the Phoenix was both a refuge and a crossroads, where those dedicated to overthrowing the powers of Voldemort could meet and plan counterattacks in secret.

Your parents were some of the first to join. Then came myself, Remus, our friend Peter, who was slain, and the Potters.

Lily and James.
I count their son, Harry, amongst the fallen.

After you defeated Lord Voldemort, Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange wanted to learn all they could about the prophecy. And so, they sought information from the Potters when it was uncovered that their son, Harry, could have also been the Chosen One. They tortured them to death and killed baby Harry.

James Potter was my closest friend.
Harry was my Godson.
I still mourn his poor soul to this day.
