Overanalyzing the S2 Character Promos

This is what prompted me to post last chapter btw.

I know these are kinda outdated and irrelevant but I still want to take some time to look into them?? Because there's a lot of hidden secrets in them and I like to overanalyze

So these pictures can be found a couple months back on Jakey's community page, or more recently on The Magiclicas Twitter page.

Melissa

Tbh Melissa's isn't that interesting. She's using her powers and has the black wings motif in the background.

I mentioned the wings thing at some point, and Jakey happened to notice and told me that 90% of the reason they wings keep showing up is because they look cool

But I'm still going to use them for theories, because they keep showing up and they're too good to say they're just there because they're cool.

I'm fairly convinced that they also lowkey have to do with Reborn Chase, because in the title sequence he's the only one that still has the wings.

Chase and Ichiro both died, and in some beliefs people who die become angels and move on to heaven. However, there are also the concepts of dark angels from modern lore, and although I haven't done much research on that type of mythology, from what I understand a dark angel is an angel, a spirit of light and purity, that has become corrupted.

AKA Chase, who had a heart of gold and wanted only the best for the people around him, being influenced by the dark personality of Ichiro by their reincarnated fusion.

I mentioned this in the Casey's Death theory, that the only characters I can find with the wings are Casey, Melissa, and Reborn Chase, so I think that the wings refer to the connection to Ichiro and his influences of his actions on others.

The cation is: "feel the darkness within," meaning Melissa may be feeling driven to be darker with her actions and/or magic from these recent events?

Ivy

So we already know that Ivy is going to be working at the diner to pay for a lawyer for Kaya. Hence the checker background and the literal word "Diner" in the background.

A thing though is that because of the way the vignette is, the word "Diner" looks a lot like "sinner." It might be me reading it wrong, but "sinner" has been used before in the series, even if episode 11.41 by Principal Lawrence, it has meaning because it's such a strong word.

On the other side of the picture seems to be the figure of a boy, along with the word "DANGER"

Guessing along with the diner thing, which is a popular common place in Everston, she meets a suspicious someone that is trying to do something bad to Ivy?? Shook tbh

Also, Ivy's flower power is wilting here, while before her powers have always been full of life and in full bloom. It might just be a design choice, or it could symbolize something more?? I'm not sure what, but it makes an impact.

The caption is: "playing with fire," so again, going with the danger thing, Ivy is making some risky decisions somewhere along the way?

Casey

I know I've already talked about Casey's before, but I want to generally analyze what's here.

He seems to be in a graveyard, probably showing the fact that half his family is dead/dying. There's an owl to the left, and that might be a design thing because graveyards and owls are generally grouped together as spooky Halloween stuff, or it could be something more? Owls also symbolize wisdom, so maybe it's like Casey knows things we don't yet.

There's a winged figure in the background with what kinda looks like Chase's speed effects, again I'm convinced its referring to the literal and emotional consequences of Chase's death and Reborn Chase.

The caption is: "the point of no return," and like I said in the Casey's Death theory, the only two "points of no return" I can think of are death and doing something so bad you can't be considered good anymore. It could be referring to Chase's death, but Casey also has gotten ahold of some dark magic spells and wanted to go attack the Spero, which could be beginning to go down a bad path because he's being blinded by emotions.

Kylie

Am I the only one who thinks that her turn in the intro is weird?? Like I get the action it's supposed to be but it looks weird in Minecraft and without expressions.

So on the left, there's the signpost for Everston and some other place that looks like "something-lewhyte" a new place?? Like there's Kroutyce where Casey is from in S1 but I can't think of any place that sounds remotely like this place. There's also that woman with a briefcase, which I'm not sure about?? Sarah maybe? Because on the other side there's "Cipher's rights" and what looks like a table with a bunch of potions and stuff, and Sarah is trying to find a cure for the ppl she put into a coma, supposedly. Maybe like Kylie finds out that Sarah has done/is doing something to her friends (since a majority of the coma victims are from the Eversingers) and/or she and Sarah become closer because of the Cipher's Rights movement they're both a part of, even if in different ways.

The caption is: "there is nothing that time does not reveal," meaning Kylie has some secrets for something. Idk what, but it seems like it could be big?!

Fun fact: There's an element that I'm leaving out of this. It's in there if you look and read in between the lines and it is CRAZYYYYY and changes your view of Kylie entirely. Like, WHAT?! I wouldn't have noticed this without Jakey mentioning it, so I'm not saying it specifically, but it's also right there if you look hard enough, so it's not TECHNICALLY spoilers?? Comment if you find it so others can see it, but since I didn't actually find it myself I don't feel justified saying it outright.

Sarah

So clearly on the left we have her cat form, because she shapeshifts like Professor McGonagal, we know that. Cats also secretly rule the universe and lets be honest that's lowkey what Sarah seems to be aiming for at the moment, is control of Everston and the White Stone for some reason. (Wow actually lowkey made sense of a joke lol)

On the left side there's another angel BUT ITS NOT LIKE THE DARK WINGS MOTIF DONT CALL ME OUT. This one is like a Roman-style statue, and along with the scale next to it, I'm thinking that it's more of a symbol of justice/power. I feel like courthouses often have angels like this on the corners and stuff but I'm not sure. I'm just used to in my experiences in Europe, that an angel is often used to show power by being guided and/or favored by a greater power. The COM?

Either that or maybe the angel represents one of her family? Because they're mentioned of being powerful and seem to be friendly with the COM, and pushed Sarah to focus on her dark magic heritage, AKA again, a guidance thing, even if not in a positive way.

Like I said the scales are for justice and/or balance that's a common thing, and guessing that the caption is "justice for all," it's justice.

There's also a shadowy figure in the background, which maybe could be her being the hooded figure??

Kai

The one I personally am most concerned for.

On the left, there is a boy and a broken heart.
On the right, there is a boy and the Everston badge.
Some other boy is going to come into the picture on one of either Quinston's or Kai's ends and start to break up Kaiston and I don't like ittt

As much as I don't like it, that's what the evidence hints at??!?!?

Then there's also the phoenix thing and tbh I have no clue what it is. I want to say maybe some new radical group like the Spero, but there's no evidence for that. It could be just like rising from the ashes and starting anew as a Cipher, but 1. It's too stylized for that 2. It's shown as like an aura around his bow in the intro, indicating magic? 3. Personally, I feel like Kai isn't the right type of character to settle into the expected and ordinary, so he might struggle to be a normal Cipher again, and bringing it around again that he becomes a sort of rebel fighting for something.

Jax

Tbh Jax's is as boring as Melissa's. The only thing there is the throne with the word "Spero" on it. I'm guessing that with Ichiro gone, the Spero are lost without a leader, and Jax might somehow take that position? He doesn't seem like the type of character to do that, but he also joined the Spero when everyone thought he was still a disenchanted-but-pushover Cipher. With the lack of anything else, it gives a sense of isolation, and that might be how Jax feels now, since he is unable to go home and he's pushed his friends away. Also goes with the way he's looking downtrodden, that he's weary and without support and he's slowly falling deeper and deeper into this "Spero" label and feeling the consequences.

Annnd that's it! Now I gotta get to class, to tell me what you think?
