Driving Lessons

Honestly I could write a full fanfiction about Ichiro he's such an amazing character because he's so human?? Like he's really BAD but he's totally and utterly human and just YES.

Shout out to randomVido I Vido on YT! I was NOT expecting someone to reply with that on the bloopers video and I made my day!! Thank you so much!

"Misuki, would you like to come for a drive with me?"

The white-haired girl looked up to where her father was in the doorway. He had a calm smirk on his face that LuLu knew all to well meant he had something planned beneath the words.

"Where are we going?"

"Just for a drive. I thought you might enjoy the season's colors."

He knows me too well, LuLu groaned internally. She was watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and things were just getting good! But she knew that her father and her were close and knew that she was caught- LuLu DID love to observe the seasons change.

"Fine, I'll be right there. Give me a few minutes to get ready?"

"I'll be downstairs, my little key."

LuLu sighed as her father called her by her pet name from him and closed her door. She had no idea where he got "little key" from but it varied from "crystalline" to simply "his wonderful daughter." LuLu had learned to simply roll with it.

Her mother waved to LuLu as she hurried out the door.

"Have fun with your father, dear!"

"Bye Mom! I will! Well, hopefully anyway!"

LuLu jumped the stairs from the porch and opened the car's passenger door. She was surprised to find her father sitting there, instead of the empty seat she would occupy.

"Daddy? What are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be driving?" The white-haired daughter inquired.

Her father had a michevious grin across his face. "Not today, sweetie."

"Who is then?"

"You!"

LuLu blinked. "Me?"

Her father nodded, his smile only growing. "Yes, you, LuLu."

LuLu slowly walked around to the other side of the car. When her father said that they were going for a drive, she had not expected this. To say say she was hesitant was to say the least.

The driver's side door was open now. The seat was exactly the same as the passenger's, yet so much different at the same time.

"Daddy, I'm not allowed to drive. I don't have a license." The daughter noted.

Her father shrugged. "We have to start somewhere. It will be fine, I promise. My father let me drive all the time when I was your age. It's never to early to hone your skills."

I wonder how this will end... LuLu thought to herself as she slipped into the driver's seat. It felt strange to be sitting in the seat that was normally almost taboo to consider occupying. The steering wheel stuck out in front of her and the seat was positioned just right so that her feet rested on the two peddles on the floor.

"What do you know about driving?" Her father questioned. LuLu shrugged.

"Not a clue."

Her father nodded in acknowledgement. "That's fine. I expected so. First things first, the left peddle on the floor is the brake, and the right peddle is the gas. A little goes a long way with those, you only need a gentle tap or press to slow down or speed up. You place your hands on ten and two, like on a clock, to steer..."

The father and daughter spent a good fifteen minutes simply explaining and listening to the basics of driving. LuLu has always thought it was complicated, but her father explained it to be surprisingly easy.

"What else is there?" The white-haired girl asked.

Her father smirked. "I think that's enough for now. Want to give it a try?"

Again, LuLu hesitated. Her father's smile fell and when he spoke his voice changed to a much more serious and cold tone, despite him trying to be encouraging.

"To achieve greatness you much go outside your comfort zone. You are my daughter, Misuki, and I did not raise you to be a coward."

LuLu shivered. She loved her father, but he was scary for the most bizarre circumstances. Yet the fear of her father somehow gave her courage, and she found herself confidently turning the key in the ignition and hearing the car's engine rev to life.

Her father's teaching demeanor was back in no time. "See? It wasnt' so hard. Now, keep your foot on the brake so we don't roll down the driveway. Use the same foot and switch to the gas pedal and slowly press it some, not a lot..."

LuLu did what she was told and managed to pull out of the driveway. She followed her father's instructions when turning and stopping and found that driving was much easier than anticipated! It was rather natural, instinctive. There were very few rigid rules to keep in mind, only watching with her eyes and using her hands and feet to do what she needed to to stay on the road or avoid a car parked alongside the road.

LuLu never realized that she had blanked.

Ichiro watched the road, content and happy. These were the moments he enjoyed: no drama with the Spero, no worrying about his family, just spending good quality time with his daughter. There was still the many questions with his other recently-discovered daughter, but he decided dealing with Melissa could wait until his plan succeeded. He could introduce Misuki to Melissa as half-sisters, explain to his wife about Melissa and her mother (who his wife knew about and accepted that fact of his past. He was sure she would welcome Melissa with open arms) bring Kai home once and for all, and together they could be a family. No more superiority, no more boundaries.

"Daddy?"

He glanced over at his daughter to be surprised with instead of her pure, snow white locks done up in twin ponytails, Misuki had ash grey hair in the same hairstyle.

"Kagae," Ichiro breathed, mild panic and confusion settling. Why was this side of his daughter here?

"Daddy, what's going on?" Kagae demanded. "Why am I driving? I don't know how to drive! I'm not even old enough to drive! We're going to crash!" She panicked and yanked on the steering wheel, causing their car to swerve.

Ichiro reacted instantly and reached over his daughter's arms to correct the steering wheel. His hand glowed a deep blue and the they both felt a small head rush as the vehicle started to defy gravity and floated in midair. Kagae pressed against the pedal and leaned into the seat, as far away as she could from the controls. Ichiro felt strained from using his magic to lift the several-thousand-pound vehicle. He could still hear the hum of the engine going extremely fast.

"Kagae, take your foot off the gas pedal, please." The engine immediately started to slow.

The false side of his daughter looked at him with wide eyes. "Can you please expl-"

Ichiro cast his spell and Kagae's silver hair was purified to LuLu's pure white. The alternate side he had created for Misuki, "Kagae" was a character he had created and cast on her to protect her. Kagae, the side familiar with the Spero and had a multitude of suspicious activities under her name, was completely separate from Misuki, Ichiro's innocent daughter who did not deserve to be tainted with the supposed "crimes" he had committed. But Ichiro needed LuLu for her blood, her birth, so he had taken measures to make sure LuLu would be safe and comfortable until they could reveal themselves for who they were. Why Kagae had shown up just now befuddled the Spero Leader- she was only supposed to exist when Ichiro cast the spell.

LuLu shook her head. Her mind was blurry, as if she had missed something. The car had stopped and bounced slightly as she sat there. Her father looked pale and had a strained vein popping out against his forehead.

"Dad? Are you alright?" She asked in concern.

He sighed and nodded. "Of... of course. Say, I think we're getting rather close to downtown. I don't think you're ready for real traffic quite yet. Mind if we switch and head home?"

LuLu could tell her father was covering something. She didn't think she had blanked for long, but in that time clearly something had happened that took his calm happiness away.

She nodded and unbuckled from her seat. "Good idea, Father."

They switched seats and the rest of the drive back to their house it was silent. LuLu's father had a distant look on his face that his daughter knew better than to disturb. When they finally returned to their driveway the white-haired girl hopped out of t he car with her father in suit.

"Daddy?"

"Yes, my daughter?"

"Thanks for taking me driving. I love you."

He smiled. "I love you too, LuLu."
