A/N: Sorry, but this is gonna be a kinda short chapter. But dont worry! The next few chapters are plenty long!
THREE MONTHS LATER
I quickly snatch the scarf off the display.
I shove it under my knitted poncho, and cross my arms over it. I don't like stealing, but what can a guy do when it's snowing and he's cold?
Actually, I don't get cold, I just need it to blend in. Cause c'mon, if I was barefoot and wearing practically no winter clothes, that's gotta be suspicious, right?
I think back to the boy I met in Green River forest three months ago.
Since I'm passing by, maybe I'll drop in and see if I can find him.
The two day long blackout following the early sunset didn't seem normal. Like at all. And the royalty near Green River has been suspiciously quiet since the blackout, and the Duke of Charelton (the town I'm in currently) is very worried and is very close to arranging an army to send to the castle to see if they are okay. I think an army is too much, and he's overreacting, but I'm just a peasant, and therefore have no say in these matters.
I swiftly sprint away from the tailor's stall, and disappear into the crowds of people milling about in the market. I think I hear a shout behind me, no doubt the tailor calling after me, but I ignore it.
I scream. Pain flares in my toes, and it hurts so much that my voice had come out far too high for a boy of my age. I jump on one foot as I cradle my other, the one that had gotten stepped on.
Maybe I should get some shoes.
.
.
.
Nah.
I carefully put my foot back down, and limp out of the square and into the forest.
A/N: Like i said, very short, but i hope you enjoyed it anyway? It's kindove a filler chapter.
