"So your master opened a portal to save you?"
Lucas asked and Asling nodded. She explained everything to them about how she fought along side Kierran when the monsters, or demo-dogs as she learned that people here liked to call them, had attacked her home.
"He died trying to save me."
She said.
"He sounds awesome."
Dustin said.
"He was."
Asling said with a sympathetic smile.
"He was a powerful guardian, you have to be when you're the patron of Jupiter. But what I think would have surprised most people was how kind he was. He was truly the best master I could have asked for."
she said.
"But can we trust you?"
Lucas now asked.
"Dude!"
Dustin scolded him.
"What? She could be flayed or something now like Will was."
"She did try to kill me this morning."
Steve noted but Asling's mouth fell open in shock.
"I did not try to kill you, Steve Harrington!"
She said defensively as she stood.
"I woke up in a strangers home, how did you expect me to react?"
She continued, her accent flaring up magnificently as she spoke.
"I did not hurt you, I am way more talented then that."
She added.
"And if I wanted you dead I would have done so already."
The air around her had become much more fearful then before.
"What? You have no reason to worry any of you. I don't have any weapons on me."
She said.
"No, sorry, I don't have any weapons currently in my hands."
She thought of her magick for a second and sighed.
"That's a lie also, but the point is, if I wanted to hurt you, any of you. It would have been done already."

"She needs to meet El."
Dustin told Steve.
"I'm sorry, you want to take her out in public?"
He asked.
"No, just to Hopper's."
Dustin replied.
"Dustin, listen, this morning I had to explain to her what a phone was. There's no way I'm letting her go loose with a bunch of kids without supervision."
"Then why don't you come with us?"
Dustin asked.
"Or better yet why don't you drive us?"
Steve sighed. Somehow he was always the babysitter.
"Well I can't take all of you because you all can't fit in my car."
"We can squeeze."
Dustin offered.
"Yeah cause that's safe."
Steve said with a scoff.
"Look, three of you can go with me. The others will either have to walk or go home."
Steve said and Dustin sighed.
"Alright fine."

Dustin, Mike, and Will all crammed into the backseat of Steve's car. Asling sat in the front passenger seat and you would have thought she was in Disney World with the excitement on her face as she curiously studied the ends and outs of the car.
"You ride inside metal beasts?"
She asked as she looked around the car.
"It's called a car."
Steve said as he got in the driver's seat. He pulled the keys out from his pocket and they caught Asling's eyes.
"What are those? An instrument?"
She asked.
"No these are keys."
Steve said as he put the key in the ignition and turned the engine over. Asling flinched at the sound of the engine coming to life.
"Don't freak out that's normal."
Steve said.
"It's just the engine."
He added and looked behind him so he could back out of the driveway. Asling's eyes landed on the window crank and curiously, she began to wind it. A smile of delight tugged at her lips as she realized the window came down as she used the crank. The bitter cold air of the outside flew in through the open window.
"Don't do that."
Steve said as he leaned over to roll her window back up. Asling frowned. She looked for something else to entertain herself and noticed the buttons on the center console. She pushed one and suddenly the car was filled with music.
"Your car sings!"
She said with delight.
"That's called the radio."
Steve said as he turned down the volume.
"So you don't have cars where you come from?"
Dustin asked from the backseat.
"No."
Asling replied.
"We walk everywhere. Or take horses if the distance is too great. Some great mages and guardians can apparate wherever they please but that's not most people."
Asling replied.
"Did you own a horse?"
Dustin continued asked.
"Oh sure,"
Asling replied.
"Most people did in Scanthia. The truly talented ones learned to fight with swords or bows while riding horseback."
She replied.
"And legend says that some people, long ago, even used dragons to get around."
"Dragons?"
Will asked.
"Oh yeah, but no one has seen dragons in ages. They're believed to have gone extinct."
"That's a shame."
Will said with a frown. Steve turned down a dirt road that lead to Hopper's small house in the woods.
"On the phone you said you were also a baker's daughter, is that true?"
Dustin asked and Asling smiled.
"Oh yes. My family ran the greatest bakery in Scanthia."
She told them.
"So you made cookies...?"
Dustin asked curiously and Asling giggled as she turned to face him.
"The best."
She told him.
"I could make them sometime for you all, if Steve is okay with that."
She added glancing over to him. His eyes were still set on the road in front of him.
"Sure whatever."
He said.
"As long as you don't burn my house down."
"I won't I'm an expert."
"Whatever, princess."
Asling stiffened.
"What did you call me?"
"Nothing."
"I am not a princess, Steve Harrington."
She hissed.
"Yeah whatever I got it."
He said, putting the car in park.
"We're here."

"Who's the new girl?"
Hopper asked.
"She's a magickal apprentice from another dimension."
Dustin said as he followed the other's, stepping inside the warmth of Hopper's home. Hopper raised a brow as he looked from Dustin to Steve who shrugged.
"I wish I could say he's making this up but he's not."
Steve said.
"Whatever."
Hopper said as he shook his head.
"Mike."
"El!"
Mike said happily, Eleven came out of her room as soon as she heard the familiar voices of her friends arriving.
"We have someone for you to meet."
Mike said as he stepped aside so El could see Asling who's curious green eyes took in every feature of the small home in the woods.
"She's not from here."
Eleven said.
"Nope."
Dustin said with a toothy grin.
"Hello."
Asling said with a smile of her own to the other girl, she stuck her hand out as a greeting, waiting for eleven to take it. Eleven looked at her hand and then at her.
"You're supposed to shake it."
Mike muttered to her.
"Right."
Eleven said and took Asling's hands. Asling gasped.
"You're a mage."
she said with sudden delight.
"A what?"
Eleven said.
"A mage."
She said flatly and Steve sighed.
"Here we go."
He muttered.
"What are you talking about kid?"
Hopper asked.
"Your hands, Eleven, right?"
Asling asked and Eleven nodded.
"You're a mage. Your hands, I can feel magick in them. You have power to you."
She said.
"Well you aren't exactly wrong."
Dustin said.
"We've got a lot of explaining to do."
