As soon as Percy and Olivia went underground Sophie quickly activated her wings and started flying towards the extraction point, behind her she could see Artyom and Sam walking slowly with Artyom's left over Sam's neck for support.

She opened Comms with Octavius and said "Octavius do you hear us? We're ready for extraction so you better arrive quickly". However she was answered with only static, she flew a bit further and tried again but with no success. Hmm that's odd, maybe the signal is being blocked by radiation? But when she reached the extraction point which was a safe distance from the radiation the static was still there.

She closed the outside Comms and opened Comms with Sam and Artyom, she asked "Viper I'm having an issue, I'm at the rendezvous but there is no signal, any idea why?" Sam replied "Could be a Chinese signal jammer, though they would need a siege mech for that and you would've spotted one from above." Sophie asked "So what?" Sam replied "Usually signal jammers don't go beyond 400 meters so try flying up to like 500 meters and see if it works".

Sophie replied "Affirmative, should I close the Comms?" Sam replied "No don't, we don't want our Comms to be disabled as well". Artyom asked "how are our Comms still active than?" Sam replied "We have a closed channel specifically made to withstand signal blockers, since it doesn't require satellite and uses chips installed in the mech, plus they have their own advanced transmitters and receivers". Artyom said "Yeah okay I get it".

Sophie muted herself and staryed flying high into the sky, 200..250..300..350..450..500 meters, she stopped and opened her Comms and said "Octavius can you hear me? I repeat dropship Omega can are you receiving?" But again there was no signal.

Sophie flew back to the ground and landed next to Artyom and Sam, she unmuted her Comms and said "Still no luck, this signal jammer must be incredibly strong". Artyom than asked "Could this be related to that underground bunker?" Sam said "You may be onto something, Venator and Scorpius must have done something down there to activate this signal jammer because it sure wasn't here before" Sophie asked "So now what? Do we continue towards the extraction site or go check out what they did?"

Sam stopped walking and said "I mean it would be better to follow orders, we could be overreacting." Artyom countered "Or it could mean they're in trouble and can't open their Comms because of this jammer, aren't jammers more powerful the closer they are too the source?" Sophie sighed and said "Yeah that's true, they could be in danger, though knowing those 2 I'm sure they can handle it, I mean short of someone having freaking magic or godlike powers there are few who can match their prowess and skill in hand-to-hand combat". Artyom countered "All the more reason to worry, there could be a mech or a small army down there".

Sam and Artyom continued to exchange valid points for the next few minutes which made the decision even harder. Sophie was about to intervene when the ground shook and Scorpius appeared from underground a few hundred meters away. At first Sophie was overjoyed to see her friend alive but the joy quickly disappeared when a freaking dragon appeared from behind, grabbed Scorpious and threw her onto the ground.

Sophie could not believe her eyes, infact she rubbed her eyes trying to make sure she wasn't hallucinating, but Sam's question confirmed it "Is that a god damn dragon? What the hell!" Followed by Artyom "I knew we shouldn't have let Percy and Olivia go in there, those 2 always get into the weirdest of situations". Sophie just stood still and stared at the dragon that had grabbed Olivia's mech and was now flying into the air with it, probably to drop it from a large height. Sam grabbed her mech and shook it to bring her back to her senses, he said "Athena you're the only one among us that can fly, go save Scorpius!" Sophie peeled her eyes off the dragon and turned to face Sam's mech and said "Are you crazy? You want me to fight a dragon?!" Artyom replied "You have to save Olivia! Her mech was not built to withstand a fall from that height!" Sam added "You don't need to fight the dragon! Just save her!" Sophie replied "alright I get your point, in the meantime you get Artyom to safety, his mech is already critically injured".

Before Sam could reply She quickly activated her Mech's jetpack and blasted off towards Olivia. Thankfully it wasn't windy so her Mech was flying at top speeds. However it still wasn't fast enough as she saw the dragon spin Scorpius around using the Mech's tail and with the new found acceleration throw her towards the ground with all it's might. Sophia shouted "Olivia no!" And started to push her mech beyond it's limit to reach Olivia before she hit the ground.

500 meters...400 meters...300...200...Sophie pushed her mech until it was showing errors. 100 meters...90...80...right before Scorpius hit the ground Sophie managed to grab her. Thankfully her mech was fast enough that both Mechs didn't instantly fall to the ground from Scorpius's weight, instead they slowed down until hitting the ground without any major injuries or issues.

Above them the dragon roared in anger, probably because it's target didn't die. And dove straight towards them. Oh well, looks like I'm going to be fighting a dragon now, just great thought Sophie, she did a quick check up to make sure Olivia wasn't too badly injured. Fortunately she was only unconscious, falling from such a height at high speeds does that to a person, even one inside a highly sophisticated machine.

Sophie then activated her jet packs again and flew straight up towards the dragon, she shouted "Hey overgrown lizard! Try picking on someone who can also fly!" The dragon roared in answer and flew straight towards her, Sophie also flew straight towards the dragon, but the closer she got the more she realized she wouldn't win a head on confrontation, the dragon was easily twice her size and who knew how strong it was, plus it hadd the advantage of gravity as it was plummeting down.

Sophie decided to try and use that fact to her advantage, as soon as she got close to the dragon she veered to the left and quickly grabbed it's right wing, the dragon, being as large as it was; couldn't match Sophia's agility and instead tried to grab her mech with his claws. Sophia twisted the wing causing the dragon to veer right and then let go, pushing on the dragon with all her might, her trick worked; the dragon tried its best to stop before hitting the ground but because of its large mass and the additional boost that Sophia gave the dragon hit the ground and a very audible crunch was heard, followed by the dragon' incredibly ear piercing shriek of rage and pain. Then it went silent.

Sophie quickly marvelled over her victory, she had defeated a dragon! An actual real life dragon, but slight movement from Olivia's Mech caught her eye and she quickly flew towards her.

She landed next to the mech and asked "Olivia are you okay?", after a few seconds a reply came "Ugh..I'm fine, though could be doing a lot better. What happened?" Sophie gave a short laugh and said "I'm glad your alright, I'll tell you everything but for now can your mech move?" She replied "No, I think one of the 4 generators were damaged, simple functions like the tail and the claws are working but the legs are down". Sophia sighed and said "Alright I'll fly us over, it'll be a strain on my Mech but its a short enough flight to pull off, just hang tight"

Olivia replied "Normally I would argue against over exerting your mech...but considering the situation let's get this over with". Sophia nodded in agreement and used her 2 hands to grab the tail and the left pincer/claw and lifted Scorpius, to achieve flight she'd have to run fast enough to reach the necessary velocity, she started running and in quickly reached the velocity needed, she said "Alright Scorpius hold on!" Before jumping, her jetpacks activated and she started to rise into the air, albeit not very smoothly, several warnings started popping up about the maximum weight being reached but she ignored them, she was halfway towards the extraction point, wow I might actually make it!

But of course She should've known better than to think that as karma instantly struck when Artyom opened his Comms and shouted "SOPHIA WATCH OUT! INCOMING FROM BEHIND!" Sophie turned around to see the dragon had gotten up and by some miracle had managed to catch up to them via flying, now that it realized she was aware of its ambush it roared in anger and sped up.

Sophia shouted "Oh shit!" And started to go faster but it was of no awail as the dragon quickly rammed into the 2 Mechs causing all 3 of them to lose balance and hit the ground with a massive thud.
