Fisher King

I roll my eyes affectionately at Merlin. I wish I had someone willing to do even half of the things Merlin was willing to do for Arthur for me.

I slowly knelt besides him. "Come on, it's best you get going before the King arrives."

Merlin stirred slightly. "Um yeah...right." He kissed my cheek before disappearing down the hallway.

And of course leave it to Arthur to choose the most dangerous quest to prove himself to the people of his kingdom. It was a perfect opportunity for Morgana and Morgause, but less than perfect for Merlin and myself.

I grabbed his arm. "You're not going alone. Knowing you, you'd probably get yourself killed on the way."

Merlin scoffed. "Wow, thanks for the confidence."

I pursed my lips. He looked so kissable right now, but I couldn't for two reasons: someone might see, and it drives my magic crazy. "I mean that in the best way, now come, the night isn't getting any longer and we'll need help."

Merlin opened the tavern door just in time to see Gwaine being thrown across a table. Gwaine looked up with a goofy smile. "Ah yes, the round table is back together baby!"

One thing lead to another, and next thing I knew, we were all jumping into hay. I let out a laugh as we mounted our horses and rode off.

I glance softly at Merlin as we cross the bridge. "Just to clear things up, I'm wisdom, you're magic."

He shrugged. "Can't deny that m'lady."

I grasped Merlin's arm as the strange creatures let out another screech. "Yeah...Gwaine, you need to get your hearing checked. That is not a pheasant."

I narrow my eyes at Arthur's response. I move from my secluded corner. "I'm here. Why, we got a problem?"

He let out a huff. "Yes. I am supposed to be doing this ALONE!"

And just like that, the life of the great Fisher King was drawn to an end.
