"You and I, both of us will hide behind that almirah. Then, you will shout. When that man will hear you shouting, he'll get stunned because he had covered your mouth with tape. So, he'll come running inside. The moment he enters and gets inside, we'll quickly run from the door and close the man inside so that he won't be able to run after us. That way... we'll successfully escape."

He gave me a thumbs up.

"Any questions?"

"May I speak Madam?"

"Speak!"

"You only asked me to keep quiet."

"Till I was speaking. Now say, do you approve of my idea?"

"Yes. It looks nice. But, what if there's another man too outside. We don't know, right?"

"No way. Theirs only one man."

"How do you know?"

"Look, I saw that four men had brought you here. Out of those four, three had left- which means only one man was left inside."

"What if there was a man inside since before itself?"

"How could it be? Didn't you see that when they brought you here, they unlocked the door with the keys? So, the house was locked before. Theirs no way that there could be a man inside."

"Right..my mind was so messed up at that time, I didn't even notice how many men were they, forgot about all these details. You..you must have read a lot of detective books. You observed and remembered everything very carefully. Do you want to be a detective?"

"No...I knew I had to save you, so I deliberately noticed and observed everything. I'm glad I did, I had no idea that those wings could disappear anytime. Had I not carefully noticed things, we would have been stuck here forever."

"Although I don't get your 'wings' logic as yet. But, I can't stop believing you either. Let's start our plan.".

"Don't worry. I won't break your trust. Keep believing in me."

"Forever." He says pumping his fists into the air.

"Do you really think it'll take me forever to get is out of this place?" I said angrily.

"I didn't mean that! Why do you keep being so pessimistic?"

"Don't worry...I won't tag you along with me 'forever'. We'll soon be free."

"Forget it. Neither can you say anything nice to anyone nor can you bear someone being sweet to you. You'll always take it the wrong way."

"Don't talk as if you know me since forever."

"Well...I don't mind knowing you forever." He winked.

Does he ever realise what he speaks? I've hardly known him for half an hour and he has already accepted my marriage proposal which I never gave and said that he wanted to know me forever...means be with me forever.

"Hey! Did my words make you so happy?"

"No... let's go and hide."

We both hid behind the huge almirah.

"Now, I'll say..1,2,3 and then you'll shout. Okay?"

He nodded and cleared his throat.

"Quiet. Quiet." I said covering his mouth, "if you keep shouting, he'll know we are here."

"How come you screamed, boy?" The man yelled as he opened the door harshly.

And...as we had not planned-

The man saw us hiding behind the almirah because we were probably noticeable from where he was standing.

Of course, I had thought that he'll quickly go inside the room without giving a glance towards us. But...he gave a proper look towards us and his eyes widened when he saw two people instead of one.

"Wait. We are coming out. No need to yell." I said to the man while coming out from behind the almirah.

"When did you come here? It's not possible. I was at the door the entire time."

"I didn't come from the door."

"Then..?" The man said widening his eyes-more startled.

"From the door over there."

"Where?" The man looked around.

"Behind that pillar."

"Theirs no door over there." The man said staring at the wall behind the pillar.

"How come you don't see it? Look it's there." I said pointing behind the pillar.

"Where? How come I never saw it?" He said moving slightly towards the pillar.

"There. Look carefully." I signalled Brayden to slowly escape through the door.

The man stepped closer to the pillar with his eyes searching the wall for the door.

"Where?"

"Exactly over there," I said and quickly ran outside the door and shut it close.

"You!!! You kids!!! Acting smart huh? Open the door! You'll face the consequences! I said..." We both ran outside the main door as the man kept pushing the door and shouting.

"What if he pushes it open. I'm sure he has that many muscles to break it open." I said.

"It was your plan only. Now you are being pessimistic about your own plan. Even if he breaks it open, we would have reached a good distance by then."

"What if he breaks it open within 2 minutes?"

"Stop being so pessimistic, girl!" He laughed.

"Why would you laugh?" I said while running.

".. because I haven't seen a person as unique as you!"

"Okay... I'll ask you about that later. Let's ..let's hide somewhere first. It won't be long that he'll call somebody."

"Right...he must be having his phone. He'll call those other men. But don't worry, it'll take them some time to come, right?"

"Right..still."

"Then let's hide there." He said pointing towards a jungle.

"That's a jungle," I exclaimed.

"Is there a better place here? Do you see a human being around?"

I looked around. There was no one.

"That's why they brought you here to hide you."

"Exactly. Now, are you coming?"

"Fine..but what if they.."

"Are you done with your 'what ifs'...listen..it's a jungle. How would they find us here? Moreover, they'll think that we must have called someone already to take us back and that we must have even reached the police station by now to complain against them. What they must be doing by now is escaping away."

"Right. You have a point. You are smart."

"So, you even know how to compliment someone."

"I'm not complimenting you," I said while running towards the jungle.

"Well..you have already complimented me twice. So, don't say that."

"Twice?" I looked around towards his face.

"Yes..the first time- when you said that I was 'talented'."

How could he remember? Anyways... I had said it just about 45- minutes ago ..so, not a big deal even if he remembers.

Even I remembered that he had complimented me around 3 times already.

He called me-pretty, smart and even praised my name.

"Do you realise how loud you shouted in my ears? Your voice is still ringing in my ears. So reckless of you." I said trying to change the topic.

"Really? Not even an hour since we met and my voice is already ringing in your ears. I'm glad you accepted that."

"You should apologise instead," I said with a scowl.

"Okay. Sorry then." He said holding his ears.

No, no-not at all cute. Anyone would look cute with that gesture.

"It's okay," I said looking towards the many trees in front of us. "Let's get inside before they arrive."

We both went into the jungle.

"We must not get lost," I said staring at the sky which had begun to get dark.

"Why can't you think something good?"

"I'm thinking good only. But.."

"Listen." He said turning me towards him, "Are you really the same person who had the courage to lead such a dangerous and uncertain plan just sometime ago?"

"Uncertain? Dangerous? What do you mean?"

"I mean...that if you had the courage to execute such a terrible plan and then when it got ruined-you even dared to fool that kidnapper and make us escape then now-why are you being so timid?"

"I am being timid? I am timid. Happy?" I said looking away, "Terrible plan...really? Why did you follow it and even agree to it in the first place if you thought like that." I murmured, but he heard me say that.

"Yes, I would not disagree that the plan was terrible. Yet, I would appreciate that the way you strongly and with complete confidence helped us escape is commendable. Even though you could have escaped alone, still-you first made sure that I was safe, despite the fact that you hate me. I would totally disagree that you are timid. I think you are really courageous. A timid person wouldn't even have dared to put themselves into danger to save a stranger whom they hate. Thank you for saving me." He said and patted my head.

Maybe...my opinion regarding him is already changing.

Is this an 'opinion changing day'? My opinion regarding Christmas and him both have been changing.

"It's okay. Also....I...I don't hate you anymore. I- in fact, shouldn't have hated you without knowing you. We must not hate someone without knowing them." I said without looking towards him directly.

"You are a good-hearted girl, my dearest fairy. Not everyone will save a stranger and accept their mistake." He said while pulling my cheeks and speaking as if he's talking to a kid.

Then- probably he realised what he's doing, "Oh....I'm...I'm sorry." He said while clearing his throat, "Let's go."

"Wait. Why did you follow my plan when you knew it might fail?"

"I knew that it won't fail."

"Didn't you say that it was a terrible plan?" I said, confused.

"Didn't you ask me to trust you?" He questioned with a smile.

"So..you trusted me. Why?"

"Why?..well..you don't seem an ordinary girl to me. You seem like a person surrounded by magic. If you can receive wings as a present...can't your terrible plans work? The universe seems to bless you a lot. I don't think it'll put you into danger." He said looking up towards the sky which was slightly visible through the many trees.

I am surrounded by magic?
I am blessed?

Maybe...if I think of it. I could accept that. Ever since childhood, I was only the one to have strained my mind and caused troubles in my life. I was the one who suddenly became so timid, had a low self-esteem and envied popular kids and people. Maybe, my frustration had prejudiced me into hating him, Christmas and everything fine and magical and led me to be the barrier of my own freedom.

"Hey! Are you still here?" He said bringing me out of my reverie.

"Yes..yes."

"Moreover, something in my heart told me to trust you. Anyways...I must trust the girl who landed herself into trouble to save me. Shouldn't I?" He said with a smile.

Trust me?

He's quite right. Isn't he? I wasn't being timid when I began to save him and even fooled that kidnapper to save him. I probably had lost my confidence and courage and it suddenly popped up in my aura making me a true saviour.

I hope I'm not being a narcissist like him already.

He's not that bad though. He might be a narcissist but he's the only one who has appreciated me so much and made me realise my authentic self just within such a small span of time.

"It's getting dark." He said looking around.

"Oh no."

"Don't worry, let's keep moving."

"Hold my hand or else we might get separated." I said without realising.

"You really don't ever want to get separated from me? How many times indirectly will you propose now, my dear fairy? I told you I'll think about your proposal."

"You don't ever change! I meant..we should not get separated in the forest."

"Why? What even if we get separated? You don't like my company anyways. Do you? Or you think I'll save you from any danger that you might come across..like any wild animal?"
