I heard the door open as a man yelled, "Why did you shout!"

"Can't I shout? Well..won't a normal human shout if he's put into such an awful place. That too...someone like me, at least you should have arranged for a better place if you had to kidnap me!"

"You!! Do you want a beating? Huh..?" The man yelled, "Better stay quiet..or wait, I'll close your mouth." I slightly dragged my head to see what he was going to do, he closed his mouth with a tape.

Well deserved.

"Now, shout!" The man gave a burst of evil laughter before banging the door shut.

I slowly came out and stood in front of Brayden-who was signalling me to remove the tape.

I smirked, "Thank your luck that all he did was shut your mouth with this tape! Why would you act such a narcissist even in front of your kidnappers? Do you realise they can cause you harm any second? Aren't you scared?"

He nodded his head while signalling me with his eyeball movements to open the tape.

It's interesting to watch him this way.

"Alright, alright, I'll give you the chance to speak. First, abide by my order to not shout. Okay?"

His eyes rolled at this.

"Forget it then," I smirked.

He nodded hastily.

I carefully removed the tape on his mouth and he spoke immediately, "You, you are a really smart girl. Poking fun at a boy who's got kidnapped?" He said sniffing and making a sad face.

"Listen...I'm not here to poke fun at you. I was here to save you only, but you are constantly trying to increase my task. I was afraid earlier as well when you were infuriating them. What if they get provoked by your nonsense and hit you. What will you do then..huh? Can't your ego be silent at least in front of such dangerous people?"

"Hello..hello..why would you lecture me? Listen, firstly they won't do anything to me until they get the money. Second..."

"Money? Are you short of money? Why didn't your parents already give him money...?" I interrupted him midway to shoot questions at him.

"Money..isn't all that they'd want. They'd probably want a fortune to feed their families and gifting them a fortune would ruin my fortune."

"Okay. It's complicated I guess. Anyways..what's the second thing?"

"Yes, the second thing-who are you?"

"Oh..me. Myself...Jennie."

"A lovely name. Myself..."

"I know I know," I said rolling my eyes.

"Hey...I was trying to be nice to you and you are being like this. What type of a girl are you?"

"Not your type," I said blinking my eyes at him and giving a fake smile.

"That's for me to decide." He smirked.

I never thought someone like him- who I hated, his one casual statement could make me—blush?

That's how he's every girls' crush. Not my crush though. We can never even become friends. He's not my type.

"I don't understand. From where did you enter? I don't see another door except for that one." He said pointing towards the only door in the room.

"Right. That's because I didn't come through the door."

"Then?"

"I came from the window."

"Window? I don't see a window either." He said looking around.

"Are you okay? How can you not see that window?" I said pointing towards the window from which I had entered.

He chuckled, "Really? Then are we going to escape through a rat hole?"

"What? Are you joking right now? I'm serious." I said with a stern face.

"Umm..then tell me. How come you jumped from such a height. In the first place, how did you even climb there?" He said raising his eyebrows and probably controlling his laughter.

"They have not covered your eyes, okay? Can't you just see I've got wings on my back?" I said with a smug.

"Wings?" He blinked his eyes and stared at me with a perplexed look.

"Why are you staring?"

"I'm trying to figure out who broke your heart so terribly that you became like this."

"Like this?"

"Like-sort of absurd?" He said, cracking up, while keeping his voice low.

"Absurd? Why would you call me that?"

"You should be happy..what you said, is much more than just absurd. You want me to believe that you entered this place with those invisible wings on your back?"

"Invisible?" I said, twirling around and looking behind myself...the wings had vanished.

"Where did they go? I'm honestly telling you...I'm not lying. I don't know where did they go all of a sudden."

"They must have gone around for a walk. Don't worry, they'll come back."

"Are you seriously joking right now?"

"That's not right, my dear fairy. You started joking first."

"Fairy?" I gawked to hide my red cheeks.

The teenage sensation called me, 'my'...am I dreaming?

Ah..whatever, I don't care.

"Fairies only have wings. So do you! The only difference being that your wings are invisible." He chuckled.

"You! Then tell me, how did I come here?"

"How would I know? Maybe you were already here before I had entered."

"Then why didn't you or any of them see me earlier?"

"You must have hidden behind that almirah earlier as well."

"Why would I come to such a terrible place? Not that I knew that they're gonna kidnap somebody and hide him here."

"There could be two possibilities.." he said staring at the ceiling.

"What?"

"Number 1...you are a thief and you came here to steal."

"Thief? Do I look like a thief to you?"

"Actually...no, you don't. You look too pretty to be a thief."

My poor heart. It hurts to accept...even though he's probably joking-it made me happy.

"Number 2?" I said inquisitively.

"Number 2...you were an ex-member of their gang and so you somewhere knew that they're gonna kidnap me. So, in order to meet me, you hid here because you knew- had you tried to meet me outside..my fans and fame won't let you have even a proper introduction with me." He said with a smirk.

"Just when I begin to think-you are being nice, you talk something rubbish."

"Really? You don't already think I'm nice? Right...I'm beyond nice. I'm amazing."

"That's what you and your fans think."

"Anyways..what made you start to think that I'm nice. I'll act more like that if that changes your opinion."

"Do you even know me properly? We haven't known each other even for 15 minutes and you'll act as I wish?"

"An interesting person is interesting- whether you have known them for 15 years or 15 minutes."

Something must be wrong with his mind. I'd be the last person to be interesting on this planet- I start up the most boring conversations, my conversations are well...even beyond boring.

"Listen. I'm honestly telling you that I had wings when I came here. I got them as a Christmas present by Santa but then suddenly now- they have disappeared."

He stared at me for a while.

"Even though what you are saying seems absurd as I said. But...you don't look like you are joking or anything. I'll believe you then." He said with a smile.

"Really?" I said with a confused expression.

"Yes. Although theirs no logic in what reason you gave but I trust you. Anything can happen in this world. Magic is arcane, so is life. If a normal boy like me with no talents can suddenly become a celebrity because of a random viral singing video, anything can happen." He smiled.

This is..this is just what I thought about him- a normal boy with no talents.

But now that he's saying this, I don't approve of it for some reason.

"Umm...I don't think so. You are talented that's why you are famous. Don't think too much."

"Really?" He said with a glint in his eyes.

"Yes." I quickly changed the topic, "Let me free you from this rope." I said as I began opening the knots of the rope.

He jumped up in excitement, "Ahh... I'm finally free!"

"You are yet not free. We have to still escape this place."

"Oh right..let's go."

I grabbed his hand to stop, "Are you crazy? Where are you going?"

"Outside. We have to leave this place. Right?"

"Right. But this is not your home that you can get out anytime you wish."

"Why?"

"There's a man outside. Have you forgotten?"

"So what?"

"So what..? Really? Do you think that he'll open the door for you, tell you to take care, bid you goodbye, and let you go just like that?"

"Oh..yes, yes. That man. I totally forgot because of the excitement of getting free."

"Anyways...we have to carefully escape this place before that man comes in to check on you."

"Right. He can come in anytime. What should we do then?" He said scratching his head.

"Idea!" He exclaimed suddenly.

"What..what? Tell fast."

"Let's think." He said with a serious look.

"You are seriously trying to joke in such a situation when your and even my life is in danger."

"No..no. I'm just lighting the mood, that'll help us to think more effectively. Okay, Ms Lecture?"

"Stop giving me names!" I said slapping his shoulders.

"Okay, okay..my dear fairy."

"You..! Think about escaping!"

"Okay."

After just a couple of minutes of rummaging through the million ideas in my brain—I finally found a somewhat logical idea.

"I have a plan."

"Already? You are a smart girl, I must say." He said slightly clapping his hands.

"Listen. You see that almirah?" I said, pointing towards another almirah in the room which was close to the door.

"Yes." He said, attentively listening to me.

"Yes. So, you and I-"

"Me and you..?" he questioned.

"Yes, you and me.."

"Okay- you and me.." He smiled.

"Hey! What are you saying? Let me complete..." I said my mind revolving around his 'you and me'

"Go on.." He said.

"Yes, so-both of us.."

"will get married?"

"Yes...so both of us will ..hey!!! What are you saying?!" I said slapping his shoulders.

"My dear fairy...it's too early to get married. First, we need to know each other better, get settled in our respective careers..."

"Hey! Hey! Stop it. I'm telling you..who wants to marry you?"

"You." He said pointing towards me with a teasing smile.

"Will you.."

"Okay..I'll think about it. It was such an unexpected proposal."

"I'm saying will you let me speak?!?" I said glowering at him, "I shouldn't have removed that tape from your mouth! How could you flirt this much with a stranger?"

"You are not a stranger. I've known you."

"Since when have you known me?"

"Now...I think it's been probably around 20 minutes. I cannot exactly say though since there is not a watch here. Otherwise, I would have noted the time."

"Keep your mouth quiet till I speak. If that man hears us, we both would be in danger. So, hear me!" I whispered loudly.

It's so difficult to keep whispering when the person in front of you angers you so much.

"Okay. I'll keep quiet till you complete." He said covering his mouth with his hands.

Adorable.

Nah! What am I thinking? He's not adorable. No way.

"Now listen. Okay?"

He nodded.
