~ A Winter Story – The One ~
Cheonsa (means Angel) sat beside the large window of my room, watching the street, the people who were going fast on their vehicles, listening to a sad song. From her eyes, there was a mark of dried tears. People would think that she cried because of love but no, she cried because of her miserable life. Her parents just came together because of their parents’ love promise and the result of that miserable marriage is her. They tried to make a happy family but she knew their not happy at all. Her mother loves her father but her father already belonged to someone else, which she have seen them in a restaurant, kissing each other. She was hopeless. She always be cold to her parents and live a separate life as she moved and rented a room near her school. Unfortunately, the house owner was extremely harsh on her as she always yell at her but she just suffer and let the owner hit and yell at her without complaining. Sometimes, she had to do housework for the lady for free and even been hit by her drunk husband. Luckily, the house owner’s daughter – Hanako (means Flower Child) - is a very kind and good girl so she always play and talk to Sulhwa secretly. Knowing the kindness of Hanako but Cheonsa was still very cold and hard to Hanako, because she didn’t wanted to hurt or get anyone to be involved with her miserable life. She is just a result of a failure marriage, a thing to be thrown away, a pet to be hit and yelled at by others when they’re angry. She was bornt to be torchered. Her parents had broke up and divorced, left her, a 17 yearsold girl, in this harsh life. Cheonsa? Angel? Ridiculous! Angel must meant to bring happiness to others instead of bringing bad luck! She is no different from a monster covered in an innocent look of a girl. She cried, asking herself if a devil can do that. She wanted to kill herself but seems like God wanted to torcher her more, stopped her from suiciding every single time. She wished, just wished to become a normal person like others, not hopefully to be an angel. Her tears kept falling down, drop by drop, until it made a litle puddle of tears next to her.
Too sick of staying home miserably, she decided that today she will bike far away to clearance herself from tears. There was a little bit of Spring rain but that’s ok, totally perfect. She biked slowly on a quiet street, that she can only hear the rain. Sighed. She wondered if there would be someone who will bring her a better life now, but it just a stupid dream, she was bornt as a devil, that nobody would even come close to her, not to mention making her an angel. Sighed, again, but this is a long one. Hopeless. Stucked. No way out. Is this the way her life would be? Why did the rain felt to salty and bitter? Was her crying? She asked herself. So she left the bike there and sat on the ground, letting the tears fall. And then, she cried, yelled as loud as she could.
Stopped. She heard a small noise, coming from behind of the bush. Her heart beated fast as she thought of the story of the ghost in the wood near by, did it get sick being in the bush and came here? It was then so quiet that she could hear her heart bumping, is it really a ghost? And how would it look like? So she took a deep deep breath and stood up. Another deep breath and thoughts of unicorns and rainbows, which made her much better. Step by step, closer and closer to the bush as she felt her legs shivering. Stood still once again, another deep deep real deep breath that she even coughed after breathing it and once more thinking of unicorn and......turkey, she continued to walk slowly, really slow towards the bush. Finnally, she was right in front of it. So she just need to walk around to get to the other side. She closed her eyes real tight with her hand touching the bush leaves and her legs shivering because of cold and the pointiness of the bush’s branches. She walked slowly, touching the bush to know the way and then stopped at the spot she wanted. Took a deep breath, with a deep sigh right after, she opened her eyes, blinked continuously because of the glary sunshine, seeing the view in front of her blurrily. A MONSTER!!! She yelled out loud as it seems afraid of her scream. She let her hands on her face and cried miserably. After a while crying, she heard....nothing as nothing happened. Curiously, she turned herself back to see what was it. A boy, actually. Suddenly, she felt guilty, maybe he was afraid of her scream and because that she thought he was a monster. He was about her age but sitting in a corner, beside the bush in the duzzle. Why does a boy like him sit here? She wondered. Is he lost?
