Hey guys. I realize most of you are dissatisfied with how Maggie ended. The truth is it doesn't matter how I end it, you'll still end up being disappointed. There's no way I can make all of you happy.

Honestly, at the beginning I wanted to make Brian the bad guy. He was going to use Maggie then dump her even without Abby's schemes. I thought that would make her more vengeful but somehow while I was writing things changed. A lot of them actually. I cut out a part where Maggie went on a downward spiral until she ended up in rehab. I also excluded the part where Stephan becomes the bad guy and really hurts her. Because somewhere along the way I realized Maggie needed to have a choice.

When the story began, she had no say in anything that happened in her life. Thomas took her away from the village without asking her if she wanted to leave. Albeit he did it for her own good, the point is he didn't ask. Clearly the Barakas didn't give her the chance to choose her own husband. Even when she joined the agency, she didn't have a choice. Remember she did it because she wanted everyone to view her like a normal girl and not a village girl. All throughout her life, Maggie has had to live the way others wanted her to. That's why I gave her the chance to pick who she wants to be with. Whoever she chooses in the end, it will be her choice. Not yours or mine. Only hers.

So please don't be disappointed. We all wanted her to have a happy ending and believe me she did. At the end of the day this her story. Not Brian's or Stephan's or anyone else's. Let's concentrate on how she overcame all the obstacles thrown her way and came out the winner. Right?

Later I might do a bonus chapter but don't hold your breath. I'm also keeping an open mind and trying to see if I can give Maggie a second book. This hasn't been decided yet so again, don't hold your breath.
