Sans is a MONSTER and not a HUMAN, so he doesn't follow HUMAN biology like a HUMAN skeleton. Same with Gaster and Papyrus.
I hope people are still interested in this story. Lately it's felt like people haven't been as interested, but I'm not sure if that's just my brain making me overly anxious or what.
Anyway, here's another part!
------------------------------------
They were so elegant - Grillby and Gaster slowly dancing with one another. They were currently the only two that were standing on the dance floor, considering everyone else had filed off and went to sit down, to allow the now married couple to have their first dance together as husband and husband. Everyone watched with awe, especially Leo and Luna who sat next to their mom and dad, watching with pure curiosity and wonder. They had definitely quietened down a lot compared to how they were 5 minutes ago, when they saw their mom and dad come back, holding hands. Even for the two children, it clicked with them instantly. Their mommy and daddy were happily back together again. That was made even more clear, when Frisk was clinging onto Sans' hand, and she was even resting her head on his shoulder, just smiling towards the two happy monsters who appeared to be sharing a kiss while they danced. It was almost like those two were just in their own world for the moment, forgetting about everyone else who were currently watching them. It was sweet.
"Seems like those dancing lessons for Grillby really paid off." Chara joked in a whisper, towards Asriel who she was sitting next to. The goat couldn't help but agree, noticing how even a nervous flame monster like Grillby appeared to slow dance with his significant other with such grace. When they had been trying to help him alongside Toriel, he had been extremely anxious about it, and found it difficult not to make mistakes. With time though, he got it, and that was very clear by the fact that he wasn't accidentally stepping over Gaster's nicely polished shoes.
"Maybe at some point you could teach me to dance." Asriel said, mostly joking with a smile, while Chara rose her eyebrows towards such a comment. He was... Mostly joking. A tiny bit of him wasn't, as he would have actually liked to spend that kind of time with Chara. Still, he hadn't managed to tell her that he liked her, despite her looking amazingly gorgeous today. When he had seen her walk down the aisle in her bridesmaids dress, and her hair all done up, he would be lying if he said he hadn't thought she looked cute, and even a bit more girly than he had ever seen her.
Because Chara seemed more like a tomboy, than a girly girl. Always. Seeing her look like a princess, in a dress and styled hair, it really blew his mind; he had never seen Chara look such a way before. It made her look somewhat more grown up, and it really brought out more of her amazing features. Despite talking to his father about his feelings for her, he still struggled with thinking of a way to just say: hey, I like you. He really wished he could have said that seeing the married couple so happy, and seeing Sans and Frisk back together in a joyful couple gave him the confidence to confess, but unfortunately, it didn't.
"Please. I hardly did any of the work. Most of it was Toriel." Chara pouted, crossing her arms as she could feel her cheeks burning a tiny bit at his comment, but she glanced elsewhere in the hope that he wouldn't really notice her becoming increasingly shy at his words. The goat just seemed to smile, until he fell quiet and continued staring towards Gaster and Grillby. Dammit. She really wished she could just tell him too. This whole stupid thing of crushing on him felt like it had been going on for way too long. She had decided to herself at one point or another that if she crushed on him for a certain amount of time, she would ask him; why hadn't she?!
It just felt like it was too hard...
Soon enough, the wonderful night ended up coming to an end, and everyone had to start going home. Sans had to not only congratulate his father and Grillby on their successful wedding, (while giving each of them hugs in the process), but he also just had to pull his dad aside for a second, just to thank him for swapping places with Frisk. Of course, he fussed over his father, hoping it wouldn't be too much for him to handle, also having the lab and all to deal with. Science was his main enjoyment after all, and had been for years. The older skeleton only had to keep reassuring his son that he would be perfectly fine. That he didn't have to worry. With how confident Gaster seemed, it really did convince him that all would be well.
By the time they had gotten home, Leo and Luna had fallen fast asleep, which was good, because tucking them into bed had been fairly simple for the two parents, who were pretty exhausted themselves. It had been a long, eventful, emotional day, and Sans and Frisk knew that they couldn't be happier. In fact, the moment both of them had undressed from their wedding clothing, and got dressed into more comfier clothing for sleeping, and they were cuddled up together in bed, all they could do was let out calm, relaxed sighs, happy to be in each other's presence like this again.
"I really have missed you..." Frisk whispered, being pulled a little closer by the skeleton when she said that. She felt him press a kiss to her head, which made her smile and she hugged him a little tighter in return. "I cried so much when you were gone... I was scared I was never going to get you back again..." She whispered, knowing she never wanted to imagine a world where she would have to keep living without Sans. He was her everything, alongside their children. Remaining apart from him definitely was not what she ever wanted. Not in a million years.
"i know... i missed ya too." Sans spoke honestly and softly, finding it hard to stop smiling. He had to admit, he was still a little mad about the whole situation, and she still had to regain some of his trust, but he was more content being with her, then he was being apart from her. Not only that, but he believed that she had the ability to regain his 100% faith in her. "i'm just sorry that i let ya go... i regretted it, so bad. i just wanted ya to understand how i felt, ya know?"
"You don't need to apologise, Sans. You were just doing what you thought was right."
"no, i do." He shook his head. "i put a lot of stress on ya, on the kids, and myself... i should have just let myself cool down a little, so we could have had a calmer conversation about things. but i was utterly fuming and i just--" He was saying, at least he felt Frisk put a finger to his mouth to stop him from rambling and explaining himself. Sitting up, Frisk smiled at him, and he could only stare back at her, slightly confused as to why she had stopped him from speaking. She laughed a little.
"Really, Sans... It's okay." Frisk said. "I'm not the victim. So you shouldn't be the one saying sorry. I should have listened to you from the beginning. You were right - being the boss wasn't for me. I just wanted to do it, so I could help everyone. I never once thought that you were a bad person for what you did--"
"i never thought ya were a bad person either..." Sans put in.
"Right. All it was, was just one big misunderstanding... But we're together again now. And I'll make it up to you, I promise." Frisk beamed, going to give the skeleton a kiss, which he happily returned with not much hesitation. After all, these past couple of weeks he had missed her kisses, her voice, the way she cuddled with him at night... He had missed so much about her, that it was unreal. Almost every day, his mind just wanted to scream at him to run back to Frisk, to just ask for her to take him back, despite walking out on her. But he could never bring himself to do it. Despite all the hardship, and the stress, he was glad that he at least waited it out, seeing as because he had waited it out, he had got exactly what he had been hoping for.
"...will ya be happy? back at your cafe job i mean..." He remembered how she got a little down in the past, when he had asked her to quit the Mafia, and all she had was her job as a waitress in that cafe. At the time, he felt a little guilty, making her quit for his benefit, and so he would stop worrying about her. Even now, despite this being what he wanted, for her to be safe, and for her to have time for the kids, he couldn't help but be concerned about her happiness. Giggling, Frisk gave him another affectionate kiss, until she pulled away to answer his question.
"Sans, if being in the Mafia to that extent means that I can't be with you, then it's honestly not worth it." Frisk said. "Nothing makes me happier than being with you and the kids. I felt like for a second, perhaps I lost sight of that, even if I kept saying I was putting you first... But now, I am putting you and the kids first, like I originally wanted to. Because I love you." Frisk beamed.
"heh. i love ya too, frisk." Sans said. Because he did, so much.
With all of his soul.
