Sans is a MONSTER and not a HUMAN, so he doesn't follow HUMAN biology like a HUMAN skeleton. Same with Gaster and Papyrus.

-------------------------------

She had no idea how she was going to get through work today, but it wasn't like she had much of a choice. It made it harder, not having Sans to drop the kids off to kindergarten the next day, or rather, just Luna, seeing as Leo was still with Sans. It was made easier when they would do their separate jobs, because it felt like they were working as a team, but now that it seemed like they were separated, it made things all the more difficult. Thankfully, Frisk felt glad that she didn't run into Sans that morning when dropping off Luna; she felt like after last night, that would have been extremely uncomfortable. Not enough time had passed since that argument for things to feel like they would be comfortable again.

When arriving at work after getting a taxi there and sitting behind her desk, the first thing she wanted to do was just slump over it with a huge sigh, as she began playing with the rings on her finger. Yeah, rings. After Sans had taken his off and had given it back to her, she wanted to keep it safe, but she wasn't quite sure where to put it. So, she just put it on the same finger as the one she was already wearing, that Sans had given her. She let out a depressed sigh, as she thought back to that fight last night. She did hope that Sans and Leo were okay, and that they made it to Gaster's safely. She wanted to call, to ask, but... Thought it was likely inappropriate. Sans wouldn't want to hear from her of all people right now.

Honestly, she felt so stupid. She thought she was doing a good thing, by helping people keep their jobs, but all she had done was mess up her own relationship with the person she loved. What if he now hated her forever, and he was never going to want to get back with her? Chances were, he wasn't going to when she was stuck as the Mafia boss. She didn't feel like it was just so simple, that she could just quit, because she didn't feel it was right to throw people under the bus for the sake of her own happiness.

"Come in..." Frisk sighed, when she heard a knock at the door, allowing whoever was on the other side to allow themselves in. Of course, of all people, it just had to be her "sister", Chara.

"Hey! I was wondering how... You were doing... What's wrong? You look super depressed. Is the job already getting to you?" Chara teased, only to frown when she noticed how Frisk didn't seem cheered up by her silly joke whatsoever. She didn't even giggle in the slightest when she tried to poke fun for a laugh. What was up with her? "Seriously, are you okay?" Chara decided to ask more serious this time. Frisk could only shrug, definitely not feeling okay. She tried to blink back her tears, only to break down right then and there. It didn't take long for Chara to join her at her side, going to pull her into a hug.

"What's wrong? Who hurt you? If someone hurt you, I'll kick their ass!" Chara ranted, only for Frisk to shake her head. It wasn't like Sans had hurt her, matter of fact, she felt that it was her own fault that he decided to break off the engagement. If she had just listened to him, maybe he wouldn't have done that.

"S-Sans broke off the e-engagement with me..." Frisk explained.

"WAIT, HE WHAT?!" Chara shrieked. "WHERE IS HE? I'LL KICK HIS ASS!" Chara complained, already seeming ready to march off to find that skeleton. If it wasn't for Frisk holding onto her wrist and stopping her, she just might have gone to find Sans to give him an earful. She could only be confused when her sister decided to stop her from going after Sans, but it made a little more sense when Frisk decided to explain.

"It's not... His fault. It's mine..." Frisk muttered. "I haven't exactly been a very good partner... Or a mother at that... I missed Leo and Luna's performance." Frisk guiltily admitted, scratching the back of her head in thought. "Multiple times, I haven't listened to Sans, and I guess he just got... Sick of it. So, it's not his fault..." Frisk shrugged, not knowing what else to say. Chara frowned, remaining quiet for a second, until she sighed and shook her head. She knew that Frisk taking on this job would be a bad idea.

"When I yelled at my dad to not let the Mafia close down, that didn't mean you should have said you would do it, Frisk... Mom still has her doubts, wishing you weren't doing it." Chara said. "If you hadn't stepped forward, it would have been okay..."

"Okay to let you, Asriel, Blair, Gaster, Andrew, everyone... Lose their jobs? That would have been okay to you?" Frisk questioned, and Chara knew she couldn't really answer that truthfully. Because okay, no, it wouldn't be fine but... Chara just felt awful that Frisk trying to help resulted in her own relationship falling to pieces. It didn't feel right, her and Sans being apart, because to Chara, and likely anyone who saw those two together... They were just meant for one another. Sans and Frisk being apart was like... Peanut butter and jelly, but without the peanut butter. That was a weird example but... In a nutshell, it meant that one wasn't as good without the other.

"I just want you to be happy, Frisk." Chara told her. "I don't like seeing you so upset. It isn't right. You and Sans are meant to be a couple. You two have been together for 7 years... You were going to get married... I would hate to see all that time go to waste." Chara went on. She really wanted to tell Frisk to just quit, that it would be okay if she did that. It was clear that Frisk would not agree to that though, because she cared too much about keeping everyone else happy. Chara weakly smiled. That was the problem about Frisk, and it was something that hadn't changed much in the last 7 years.

True, Frisk was a little rougher around the edges, compared to the scared, nervous 19 year old that she had been - but she was still a complete and utter sweetheart. To Chara, she could never see Frisk going out of her way to hurt people she cared about on purpose, and definitely not to Sans of all people. Frisk may have just seemed like a jerk because she had been so caught up with things lately. Chara, personally, couldn't blame Frisk for having wanted to go after her parent's murderer, to make sure that he ended up dead, because quite frankly, if Chara had to kill someone who hurt her family, she would quite gladly do it. In fact, that was why that man was now dead to begin with, because Chara had repeatedly shot him, after thinking that he had managed to kill Frisk, Sans and Asriel.

"I'll be okay..." Frisk said, even though to Chara that felt like nothing but a lie. Just by the look on Frisk's face, it didn't look like it would be okay, and when Frisk could feel Chara's worrying eyes on her, she gave her the best smile she could - even though it didn't look very realistic. "Really. Maybe all me and Sans need is a break right now... And the last thing I want to do is to keep driving him up the wall." Frisk sighed, going to fiddle with her rings again as she was trying to think of what to say. There was no way her and Sans were going to be able to find common ground while she was stuck in her current position. She couldn't be like Sans, where he would easily drop other people for her. She would feel too guilty. "Besides, shouldn't you be focusing more on you and Asriel?" Frisk joked, trying to cheer herself up a little. Chara grumbled.

"As if. I don't think that's ever going to happen anyway." Chara pointed out. "He only sees me as a 'good friend', he said it himself, right in front of me." She rolled her eyes. When Frisk pointed out that perhaps he was just too nervous, Chara shook her head. "I don't really care. If nothing has to change between me and Asriel, that's fine. As long as I'm still around him, then I'm fine with that." Chara said with a smile, and she meant that. Even if it did suck, to be feeling these things, knowing that she probably would never be able to express how she felt... She was just at least glad Asriel kept her around, that's all.

"Well... If you say so. I would give you advice but... I'm not really the best person for relationship advice right now." Frisk sadly joked.

"Oh, shut up. You and Sans will work it out, trust me. Even if it takes a little time, you will."

Chara wouldn't say that if she didn't believe it.
