taehyung just followed jin wherever he was taking him— he had no other option anyways. he was glad that he at least isn't getting hold in cage in that cold room downstairs anymore.

"there's someone who wants to see you" jin had said and taehyung was confused, but when he asked him who, seokjin didn't answer.

so he just took step after step, looking down, feeling not allowed to look up until he almost bumped into seokjin when the latter stopped in front of a door.

"just... don't tell jeon i brought you here. he might be cruel, but i ain't." he said, before opening the door.

the two males that were inside the room immediately looked to the door, to see who they've been waiting for the last half hour.

and taehyung's heart dropped, when he saw the two familiar faces of the persons who never failed to cheer him up and let him forget his worries.

"t-taehyungie." jimin breathed out, widening his arms for the small boy to run into them. a sob left taehyung's lips as he looked to jimin, then to yoongi, before running into both males' arms.

"wh-what are you doing here?" the blonde haired asked quietly. "d-did he bring y-you also here? b-because of me?" the small boy cried and yoongi and jimin only gave each other a concerned look.

"bear... we live here." yoongi said and taehyung looked up confused. "what?"

jimin sighed and let go of taehyung. "this is our actual home, tae. there is something about us that we never told you."

taehyung took a step back. "what do you mean?"

"we work for the mafia." yoongi admitted. taehyung sucked a deep breath in. "s-so you are behind this?" he asked, feeling so betrayed.

"no, bear of course not— we never guessed jeongguk would- that you would ever get to know this place." jimin sighed, taking taehyung's hands in his.

taehyung looked first at jimin, his eyes traveled then to yoongi and stopped for a second by seokjin, before he looked back down, a throaty chuckle leaving his dried lips.

"this is a fucking joke, what is this here? why would this be your home and what's with the house we always stay in? are you gonna tell me it belongs to you too?!" taehyung ruffled his hair.

"i don't know what's going on, yoongi hyung, you always know what to say— so explain me— what the hell is this place here?"

jimin and yoongi made eye contact with jin who gave them an approving nod and yoongi stepped closer, a sigh leaving his lips. "taehyung... the building we're in— is the residence of bangtan's mafia."

taehyung's heart dropped. "mafia?" he repeated unsurely, looking at jimin and yoongi with confused eyes, as if he didn't understand what the males said— but he did and that's the scaring part. the realisation hit him like a truck and he took a step back from jimin.

"y-you are killers?!"

jimin felt his eyes filling with tears by taehyung's words and his expression— his best friend was scared of him. "n-no bear, listen to me, we don't kill innocent people... there are so many bad guys outside, they're our targets, we would never harm someone who didn't do anything wrong."

jimin's shaking voice was all for taehyung to believe him, though he was frightened of the idea that his best friends, who he thought were the sweetest on earth, can have such a cruel job.

"h-hyung why- why didn't i know about this?"

jimin bit his lip nervously and yoongi walks next to him. "you don't belong here tae, this isn't a world for you and i wanna kill jeongguk for—"

jimin stops him with a hand move. yoongi might maybe care about jeongguk, since the younger is like family to him, but no one hurts kim taehyung.

"we will tell you everything, taehyungie, we will explain everything and you can ask anything you want we'll answer honestly. you are already here a-and i doubt jeongguk will let you go so soon." jimin pulled taehyung into a hug, who started to silently cry, as all of this is just so much to digest for the moment. he thought running away from the hell of a wedding would be a new start into freedom for him.

he never expected to explore such a huge secret of his friends and get trapped into it like that.

"you can ask us everything tae, baby, anything you want, b-but not now.. if jeongguk finds out that we saw you, he'll be mad." jimin whispered and taehyung looks up to him.

"i hate him. i hate jeon jeongguk so much." he muttered and jimin's eyes widened.

"you can't hate someone you don't know, taehyung-ssi." jin's voice could be heard. "every human has their reasons for their acting, just as you have a reason to cry, jeongguk has his reason to be the person he is." jin was previously leaning against the door frame, arms crossed and now he loosened his arms and walked over to the three smaller males.

"taehyung-ssi— even if he seems to be cruel, which he is— but if you get to know him... you'll realise this is all a facade he put on in order to appear strong." yoongi and jimin nodded in agreement.

"we won't say that you have to be friends with jeongguk, cause if he puts one wrong finger on you, i'll kill him, but, give him a chance." yoongi said lowly and taehyung hates the pressure the three males are giving him.

he has the right to hate whoever he wants, the way he wants and he has his reasons. he has understandable reasons so why is everyone telling him to not hate him? hate is a feeling— and taehyung can say that it's the only feeling he feels towards jeongguk. whatever the three males here with him in the room were telling him, until taehyung's not fully convinced— he'll hate jeon jeongguk.

but he shrugged it off and nodded. he can keep it to himself- the hatred that he has deep inside him. yeah, he admits, he doesn't know jeongguk one bit, but he doesn't deserve taehyung to feel comfortable or at least normal around him.

people who are polite do and jeongguk's far from that. and now taehyung stands there, lost in his thoughts as one of the many thoughts snaps him out of his trance— why am i wasting my time with him?

he looks back to his friends. "i-i don't care about jeon, i hope he doesn't hurt you."

yoongi chuckled. "until we steal jeongguk's precious gun, he could never hurt us."

taehyung looked up, confusion written in his face. "me and yoongi, jinnie hyung, jin's husband and hoseok that you probably don't know, we're jeongguk's only family..." jimin said with a sheepish smile and taehyung wonders if jeongguk has even the idea of what a family is.

"my brother might be heartless on the outside, but it's the facade and he never puts it off. never. the last time he laughed was when he was still a kid and he's 27 now."

taehyung sucked a surprised breath in, because he never expected jeongguk to be seven years older than him. three yes, but seven?

jimin then hugged taehyung tightly. "don't worry, as long as we are here, nothing happens to you. i promise." his hold on taehyung only tightened.

"wh-why can't i stay with you, please jiminie, yoongi please." taehyung fisted jimin's shirt as he quietly started sobbing again.

"i-i don't want to stay here, please... i'd rather marry bogum and live the life my parents forced me in—"

"no, no taehyungie, you know how bogum is... he's far worse than this." is he? jimin isn't sure, but all he can say, is that bogum's filthy hands are capable of anything. yoongi and he aren't in the mafia for nothing and observed bogum.

but they didn't want to ask taehyung if he was oaky with all what bogum does, it would've risked their job when taehyung would ask how they know all of this from.

when taehyung and bogum met for the first time a year ago, taehyung didn't find the idea of marrying him that bad. not because he was fine with it— no he still didn't want to marry, but he had no option in this, so nonetheless he was fine with it to be bogum, because he seemed nice and he thought they could at least get along well.

but it all changed the moment bogum was drunk and ringed at taehyung's home. they were friends already, but in the moment bogum stepped in and immediately forced himself on taehyung, disgust was the only thing taehyung felt whenever he saw the male again.

that day, taehyung had managed to get away, but after that, even in sober states, he used to touch taehyung, to praise him for everything, but not the praises that make someone feel proud of themselves— no, it were praises about his body, his looks, his shyness.

and that's when determination took over taehyung and he decided to never marry him, maybe to never marry anyone, because it disgusts him to only think about it. he had told no one about what bogum does, no one besides his sister, aro, who he thought would help her when he needed the support.

but she, as the natural eldest daughter of a rich ass family, who sees her younger brother only as a bother, had laughed at him.

taehyung knew she is on their parents side, he knew it yet, the one glimpse of hope he had kept in his heart for his sister brought him to tell her.

"you should get used to it, that's how husbands act. you are bad husband taehyungie."
he'll never forget her words and the poison, mixed by lilith personally, that her voice was coated in.

and he started to overthink, thought maybe that he just doesn't understand bogum. so he wanted to talk to him, but it ended up with bogum touching him again. and again. and again.
and it never stopped.

he didn't bother to tell anyone, he didn't think it was necessary for other people to know, since, just like aro, they would laugh about him. no one cared about his feelings anyways, only about their success.

once, he visited jimin and yoongi, only the older was at home though. taehyung ran away from his home, because he needed a break and when yoongi opened the door for him, he was so thankful that there was someone he could hug. so he hugged yoongi, without saying anything or knowing what happened. well he knew, but he hid it.

he was on thin ice, the thinnest layer of ice and wanted so badly to tell yoongi about it, to at least let everything out. but taehyung, as the selfless person that he is, kept it again to himself, because— why should he bother someone with a perfect life with his own pathetic one?

and he realises that running away was the best thing he could do and he should be at least thankful to have jimin and yoongi here.

"taehyung-ssi, we should leave, before jeongguk finds out about this." seokjin said, ripping taehyung out of his whole stare.

taehyung looked at jimin and hugs him and thanks him and tells him how much he loves him and then, he does the same to yoongi. they promised him that he'll be fine, that nothing will happen to him here.

jin smiled at the interaction, mostly because of yoongi's behavior that surprised him so much. but, seeing taehyung be so vulnerable around his best friends and finding out the small boy had to go through so much— he feels sympathy towards the boy.

and he promised that he'll protect the little one from his brother— not that he thinks he might do something, but it's jeongguk he's talking about.
