arriving back at home, taehyung instantly got engulfed into warm, relieved hugs by jimin and seokjin who were worried about him the whole time, happy for him to be back— safe and sound. taehyung smiled, hugging them all back, jeongguk watching the scene with a fond smile.
hoseok and namjoon were not back yet and so was aro, taehyung's sister.
taehyung was kinda nervous, he still wasn't trusting aro fully and he wasn't sure of what will happen next, if jeongguk would let her know their secrets and let her live with them, or if he was going to tell her to just find a place to stay at of her own.
taehyung noticed jeongguk wasn't fond of his sister either— he never saw or met her personally, but the fact that she had hurt his princess so much, has been such a bad sister to him, was already reason enough for jeongguk to dislike her.
jeongguk wants taehyung to be happy, he wants the young boy to finally be able to fulfill his dreams and forget his past, start new and live the life he always dreamed of.
he doesn't trust aro's intentions yet, but decided to just keep an eye on her.
"you should go to sleep tae, it's already late and you must be exhausted." seokjin said quietly, causing taehyung to pout.
"i want to wait until they come back though." he said, snuggling his head more onto jeongguk's thigh, as he had it resting on them, while laying on the couch.
jimin cooed internally at the view, he had never seen his best friend so contented and jeongguk so soft. the mafia leader's hand brushed through the boy's hair and taehyung's eyes kept falling shut, but he opened them again, trying to stay awake.
"princess, i'll bring you to bed." jeongguk whispered, but taehyung whined, blurting out a no. the older members in the room cooed at him.
"taehyung, just go to sleep, you can meet aro tomorrow," yoongi said, staring at his phone screen, "jeongguk has to talk to her anyways before that, because she needs to know the rules and that will maybe take a while. you're exhausted and had a hard day behind you, you deserve to sleep." he continued to explain and taehyung looked to seokjin who nodded and jimin who gave him a 'what-he-said'-look.
"stop talking to me like i'm a baby." he scoffed and then turned his head so he looked up, eyes locking with jeongguk's. "i'll go to sleep, if you carry me." a small smile spread on jeongguk's lips by that and he hummed, moving to take taehyung into his arms and bring him upstairs.
"goodnight guys." taehyung said to the others, waving of to them, looking like a small baby in their parents arms while getting carried by jeongguk. and that's on not getting babied.
they bid their goodnights back and taehyung could finally snuggle his face into the crook of jeongguk's neck again.
"don't tell us to not treat you like a baby, when you act like one," jeongguk mocked and taehyung rolled his eyes. "that's because i'm tired and wanted you to carry me."
"mhh, of course and that's also why you want me to stay with you until you fall asleep, right?"
"how did you— that's not even true! i'll gladly fall asleep alone." he would've crossed his arms, if they weren't wrapped around jeongguk's neck for hold. "but i don't mind if you stay... you know, so if you wanna, euhm yeah..."
jeongguk laughed at his younger lovers behavior. "yeah, don't worry. i'll stay."
taehyung smiled pleased, yawning and snuggling his head back into the crook of jeongguk's neck. "i'm not a baby."
jeongguk just hummed. "you can sleep in my arms, if you want to, princess." the mafia leader mumbled.
i repeat.
the mafia leader.
people around him and he himself still can't believe how he so easily let all his guards down for the boy who was now half asleep in his arms.
but the moment he looks at taehyung, he knows it. ever since he had seen taehyung, he didn't want him gone again. ever since he saw taehyung cry, he wanted it to stop. ever since he heard taehyung laugh for the first time, he knew he couldn't live without it and his cute giggles anymore.
jeongguk was wrapped around taehyung's fingers, he would do anything for him— care for him, protect him, cuddle him, but most of all, love him.
love.
jeongguk has never been in love, nor had he been in a relationship until he met taehyung.
when he was younger, while everyone was studying for school, making out with people on parties every night, get drunk, do drugs— jeongguk was being trained to be a successful mafia leader.
when people in his age started college or working, he was announced to be bangtan's new leader as his father passed away in a mission.
his, seokjin's and jaehee's mother left her whole family to live with another man when they were younger.
ever since then, the three had to hold together, seokjin had helped jeongguk with arranging everything. the beginning was rough, jeongguk had to convince his people that he was suitable for this posten and his skills didn't disappoint him and even amazed them.
from then on, everything was going more smoothly, seokjin met namjoon, who joined them. hoseok's old mafia posten was resolved and with his skills, he found place in bangtan. yoongi was another case though. namjoon had found out that he was brilliant and fast in hacking, so they met him and offered him the spot, to which he hesitantly answered with a yes after a few weeks of thinking. he then met jimin.
and jeongguk met taehyung.
that's how a new family evolved.
jeongguk eyes traveled down to taehyung, who finally fell asleep in his arms. the mafia leader couldn't describe how happy this male makes him, how just seeing him affects him in million positive ways.
all he wanted in the beginning was to make taehyung his, control him and do everything jeongguk told him. but, then, the younger rather started to get control over him.
jeongguk sighed softly, when he reached his (also taehyung's now) bedroom and placed the male on the soft bed, making sure he laid comfortably and was covered well with the comforter.
before he left the room again, jeongguk smiled at the sleeping angel.
he went downstairs, where seokjin, jimin and yoongi were still spread on the couches in the living room. "he's asleep?" yoongi asked and jeongguk nodded.
"they're still not back?" the blond asked.
"joonie just called, they have aro and are almost here." and just then, new voices entered the room and the four males turned around to the direction they've come from.
"hey guys, she's here." hoseok said and next to him was a black haired girl, that jeongguk had only seen on photos before.
"this is aro." namjoon said.
jin and jimin smiled halfhearted, yoongi didn't spare her a glance and jeongguk had his arms crossed, looking displeased.
"taehyung is the prettier sibling," jin whispered to jimin, who hummed, agreeing.
aro felt small under their looks. "h-hey, i'm kim aro..." she trailed off, gulping once her eyes met jeongguk's.
"don't mind them, especially that blonde dude there." hoseok whispered and jeongguk who heard it rolled his eyes.
"hey aro." jimin got up. he already knows her so there was no introducing needed. he walked towards her, but stopped midway to make a 180° spin and look at jeongguk. "are we gonna tell her...?" he questioned. are they going to tell her what they are?
jeongguk sighed. "i will do that, later."
jimin nodded. "he's going to tell you everything you need to know."
aro looked at jeongguk and then leaned towards jimin's ear, who raised a confused eyebrow. "is he... tae's boyfriend?" she whispered, everyone looked at them
now, yoongi with a displeased expression. jimin nodded.
"and you better not make him mad."
"so... kim aro." jeongguk started. they were in his office now, the girl was sitting in front of his desk, him leaning against it right in front of her with his arms crossed, looking down at her.
the girl said nothing, waiting for jeongguk's next words, the handsome man scaring her.
"taehyung is sleeping, you probably know what happened today." he continued.
the girl just nodded, scared to say something wrong.
jeongguk scoffed. "you and your family..." he gritted his teeth. "taehyung never belonged to you."
aro looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. jeongguk was mad, definitely furious and it frightened her.
"taehyung... he was always different." aro said.
the man looked away, huffing. "you know, i'm letting you stay here, because taehyung asked me to. i don't know you, but you are part of taehyung's suffering and i don't accept that."
aro took a deep breath. "... i know i was a bad sister— i am a bad sister, but i understand what tae had to go—
"yes, after you had to go through the same thing yourself, you finally realized how much he suffered." jeongguk scoffed and aro sucked a deep breath in to stop her tears. "i know! i can't make things undone, b-but taehyung forgave me and you don't even know me and i will prove to you that—"
"leave this topic now, i don't wanna talk about it." jeongguk said, looking to her now again. "give me your phone."
"m-my phone, but why?"
"i won't say it twice."
the girl fiddled the phone out of her jacket pocket and gave it to the blond, who put it into the drawer of his desk.
"i am a mafia leader, this place here is the main building from all men working for us." jeongguk started, his voice deep and sharp.
aro's eyes were widened now. "m-mafia?"
jeongguk chuckled. "do you want me to spell it out for you?"
the girl shook her head.
"good. you can't leave this building and have a phone in the meantime, until i can trust you—
"but—
"interrupt me once more and i make things end up ugly for you." jeongguk held a smile back. it's been a while since he said it and when he did he remembers taehyung mocking him because of it.
aro looked down, the girl was shivering in fear.
"the people you saw downstairs are part of this too and i kidnapped your brother."
jeongguk smirked at the girl's reaction. "s-so he was kidnapped? d-did you force him to say all these things?" she whispered, eyes wide, veins filling with more fear.
the mafia leader raised an eyebrow. "what did he say?"
"th-that you love each other.."
jeongguk smiled amused. "it's true, he tells me that a lot."
aro looked confused.
"it's a funny story." aro questioned wether jeongguk could ever find something funny.
"what was me kidnapping him first, turned to me falling in love— this isn't the point right now though." he walked around the room, and stopped in front of his window.
"the others here are nice, but i won't be it. taehyung maybe forgave you, but i don't."
aro nodded rapidly.
"you can move in this house however you want, but you'll stay here. you won't question what we are doing or telling you and you won't interfere with our plans either. i'll tell taehyung to inform you more about all of this."
the girl sitting on the chair bowed lightly. "i'm sorry for bothering you and thank you so much for saving me and letting me stay here."
jeongguk turned around surprised. "don't thank me, but your brother. unlike you, he instantly reacted when he heard what was happening to you." jeongguk's voice was calm, but tight at the same moment.
aro chewed on her lip, guilt eating her up alive by now. "i apologize."
the mafia leader hummed. "i'll bring you back to the others, hoseok will give you a room then."
