8| confusion
taehyung's eyes were firm on the gun, jeongguk's on the pretty male's face.
the blonde was certainly scared, but no, it wasn't because of the gun that was pointing at him, or the male behind that— it was all of this. he questioned what he had ridden himself into, that he ended up in this position.
taehyung was never one to appear strong. he was fragil, hid his emotions behind a huge, thick iron door and never opened up to anyone. just like now, where he was scared, where he regretted a lot of things, he hid these feelings and appeared strong.
"are you crazy? put it down!" seokjin looked at the scenario in shock. it wasn't like he was scared something was happening to taehyung physically, he was rather worried about if taehyung could take this mental pressure.
the boy had been going through hell since the moment he got to meet jeongguk, seokjin wonders how he can stay so strong.
but like already mentioned, he wasn't scared that something happens to the blond. even though his raven-haired brother appears like someone that would kill someone with a snap of his fingers, he'd never do that. i mean, he'd never kill an innocent person, the bad boys can go to hell.
knowing taehyung has done nothing that gives jeongguk a reason worth getting killed, calms him.
jeongguk won't hurt the boy.
taehyung's eyes were focused on the gun, but with a sudden determination, he looked up to jeongguk. taehyung's eyes that always seemed to shine and that always seemed doe-y, looked sharp and daring at the moment. jeongguk felt himself struggling to hold the eye contact and that's something new to him.
but he licked his lips, seeing taehyung still trembling slightly under his gaze too. it just reassures jeongguk that taehyung was indeed a little scared of him.
"what is princess? lost your voice?" one side of his lips curled up, until a smirk was formed. his feet moved from their own, when he took a step closer to the trembling male.
taehyung gulped lightly, searching for something in jeongguk's face— at least one emotion, but besides a mocking smirk, there was nothing.
"keep looking me in the eyes, then tell me how you aren't scared of me." jeongguk said, loving the way the victory already lay in his hands.
"come on, princess, say it." he took another step forward, his tattooed fingers moving to the trigger, but taehyung kept quiet, holding the eye contact.
taehyung looked to his best friends and immediately calmed down. their faces were the reassurances that everything was fine. how?
they didn't looked panicked, they didn't looked like something would really happen to taehyung.
they were calm and taehyung isn't dumb. if he really was in danger, yoongi would've been about to kill jeongguk. he knows it. he understands it. there is no danger right now.
jeongguk is just trying to scare him.
and taehyung hates this attitude, hates the way jeongguk seems so confident and he would love to break this confident wall of the older.
so taehyung smirks back, takes a step forward, without loosing eye contact to jeongguk and then places his hand on the gun, pointing it right to his forehead. "shoot me if you want." were his only words.
a flash of surprise went through jeongguk's eyes, but disappeared immediately. it didn't get unnoticed by taehyung though, who celebrated his win internally.
because, whatever this jeon ass is gonna do, he messed with the wrong blonde.
the eye contact was held a little longer, their bodies not moving, the tension anything else but loose— suffocating for everyone who was around.
"what are you waiting for jeon? for me to shoot myself?" taehyung dared, he thought about taking another step forward but rather pulled jeongguk's arm, with the gun towards him, until the pointer of it was touching his own forehead.
"do it, huh." taehyung shook the gun, jeongguk growled lowly, jaw clenching.
he stared a little longer at the smaller male, hating that someone acts with him like that. no one does that. no one dares to. but here is kim taehyung, doing exactly that.
and jeongguk hates it, but he is stunned.
nonetheless, he'll show taehyung where he belongs with other methods then. he pulled the gun down, closing his eyes in frustration.
taehyung crossed his arms, smirked. "what you're not gonna kill me?" everyone looked with wide eyes and jimin and yoongi gulped, because they've never seen taehyung like this— appearing so strong.
"i am not fucking scared of you." taehyung said and jeongguk chuckled, because even though he lost right now, it was just the first course of the whole menu.
"i have to admit, kim taehyung, i'm stunned by your courage."
taehyung scoffed. "there's no courage needed, jeon." taehyung didn't like the way jeongguk's name melted on his tongue.
and jeongguk cursed internally that it was affecting him so much.
a chuckle left his lips. "come with me." he said leaving the room. taehyung rolled his eyes, then cursed to himself about how much he hates him, exchanged one last look with his best friends and jin— then followed jeongguk out of the room.
"was that really our taehyung?" jimin asked, sitting on the table, looking down, swinging his legs, while yoongi prepared the file of a criminal that they're going to visit soon.
seokjin sat on a chair next to yoongi, a mug of coffee in his hand. just like taehyung's best friends, he was also confused.
in his first encounter, taehyung seemed so broken and whenever he saw him, he acted shy, seemed so vulnerable, yet, when he's in front of jeongguk, he's confident and strong.
it confuses him.
all of the three males.
"i think we didn't know about him as much as we thought." jimin said, sighing. "taetae was always so sweat, he was so different today." a cute pout was now visible on jimin's lips.
"min, don't say that. we know tae better, that wasn't him." yoongi whispered, then looked to jin.
"you gave taehyung the new room right?" he said and jin nodded. "the basement... it's not good there, taehyung doesn't belong there, not here."
jimin looked down. "we can't get him away from here though." he said. "jeongguk — for whatever reason wants to keep him here, he can't go away, jeongguk will find him."
"why does gguk wanna keep him?" jin asked himself.
"why do you wanna keep me?" taehyung asked, arms crossed as he trotted behind jeongguk, who rolled his eyes.
"someone's gonna do the work i don't wanna do." he simply says and taehyung huffs, stopping in his tracks.
he smirked when jeongguk kept walking, but the ravenette stops when he is five meters apart from the blond, realizing what taehyung was doing.
he turned around, glared at him and taehyung let a small giggle out, leaving jeongguk surprised. he thinks this is a game?
"i can still end things ugly for you." he said and taehyung skips towards him, ignoring how intimidated he feels under jeongguk's eyes. he feels like his knees are about to give up by the sinful handsomeness the man holds.
standing in front of jeongguk, he giggles once more, flicks the older's chin. if he's gonna stay with jeongguk, at least make it fun right? and taehyung has always lived with everything restricted to him so now— where he had the chance to let everything out, he uses this chance, gets wild.
jeongguk saw red by taehyung's action, growls lowly. "come on, jeon, if i do all the work for you, what will you do then? sleep all day? work out all day? probably kill and threaten innocent people—"
"i won't do that!" jeongguk shouts, his hand on taehyung's throat as he pins him against the wall, eyes speaking the anger that is streaming through his veins.
taehyung was surprised, because he swears, besides the anger he saw something else too, something much deeper, much quieter than anger, so quiet— jeongguk must've kept it inside for so long.
taehyung didn't budge, why would he? jeongguk isn't even applying pressure on his throat, just holding him in place. marks will be visible though, taehyung already knows.
and jeongguk's face turned emotionless in less than a second, no anger, no sign of the hidden feeling... just plainness, as he looked down, lost in thoughts.
"a-are you alright?" taehyung asked softly, he didn't know how and why he is asking jeongguk that, while still being pinned against a wall by him. shouldn't he be the one getting asked wether he was fine?
taehyung's words left his lips and jeongguk immediately looks into his eyes, the eye contact making their heartbeats unwanted accelerate.
there is nothing jeongguk is thinking about when he stares at them, he seemed to get caught into them. maybe it was the beauty in them, he could see a whole story in there— and it makes him want to know what it is.
the same goes for taehyung, because behind every look and eyes, an untold story is always hidden. always. there are no people without secrets- it's impossible. so the curiosity brightened inside of him.
"jeon?" he asked once more, because the older seemed in daze.
taehyung disliked the way how he felt concerned about the other now, there's no way this is right. he should be happy that jeongguk seems to have something in mind that stops him to do anything else. he could easily escape now, but, taehyung has a good heart behind this strong facade.
hearing his name come from that beautiful voice of the other, jeongguk snapped out of his trance, shook his head and let go of taehyung.
but he didn't say anything, just walked away.
taehyung was confused.
so damn confused now.
and he questions if someone in this building has ever seen jeongguk like that.
the blond didn't know where to go, he was still not familiar with this place, this building, but he knew he isn't going to leave this place for a time.
so why not look around?
this place is actually fascinating— every room has white walls and a dark floor, but it seems to be huge. there are a million rooms taehyung has already passed, he questioned what inside of the rooms is. or who lives there.
bangtan's mafia is one of the biggest mafia, yet no one ever caught them or know where they have their residence. they have a leader team, consisting of yoongi, jimin, hoseok, namjoon, seokjin and the leader jeongguk, they call themselves BTS. jin had already told taehyung the basic informations about the mafia.
taehyung stops in front of a huge photo frame on the end of a floor. he looked with awe at the six males, two of them the most familiar to him (yoongi & jimin) and two he met, yet doesn't know well now (jin & jeongguk) and two males he's never seem before.
and they looked happy and all so damn handsome. taehyung scanned the picture, not believing his best friends are part of this place, of this team.
he looked at three other males, he recognized one as seokjin and he was smiling brightly, while getting hugged from a tall man with dimples from behind. he guesses this is his husband, namjoon. then there was another male, who was smiling brightly, giving out the sunlight taehyung is missing inside this place. he really wants to meet him.
one person was left and the moment his eyes are averted to that handsome face, he gulps, his heart unknowingly beating faster.
there is jeongguk, he looks way younger, they all do, but jeongguk looked completely different than the others.
or is it because he's smiling? taehyung takes a step closer, takes a closer look, because he didn't seem to look away anytime.
jeongguk was wearing a white hoodie, something taehyung had never expected him to do because all he sees him wearing is black, but it looked so good.
but still the most endearing thing on this picture was his smile. all six were smiling, but only jeongguk's caught his eye.
he looks cute when he smiles.
then suddenly he heard chatter, probably two males and in panic he hid into the next room he could find, closed the door tightly and waited till he couldn't hear the males anymore.
he didn't know why he was doing that— action in panic maybe.
but he doesn't regret it, when he looks around the room for the first time.
