Epilogue 2/2

2 years since the last chapter, 1 year since the last epilogue..

~Clara~

The long meeting room is full of official looking men, all waiting patiently for the meeting to begin. I sit beside Dad, who just sits tapping his pen against the table. The room is dimly lit by flickering candles, the smell of fine wine lingering in the air.

"Just let us begin, Dad" I whisper under my breath, he turns his head slightly to acknowledge me. "Please, these people have business to attend to"

"I'm waiting for everyone" he replies, lounging back in his seat and rubbing his forehead slowly, his hands massage his tired eyes, that appear dropped and slightly bloodshot from long nights of no sleep, and he sighs.

"I'm sorry everyone, he said he would be here" I explain to the they all look up at the sound of Italian, since I'm not sure most of them can speak English. I smile at them and they give me blank stares in response. Junior pulls at his collar awkwardly and smiles uneasily at one of the guests who looks incredibly unimpressed, and Vince and Marco sigh like my Dad. This has happened before.

The door flies open and the tall figure of Elliot stands in the door frame, wheezing heavily and holding his chest. His dark hair falls over his brown eyes as he wipes his forehead and looks up, eyes wide as he takes everyone in who are all staring at him, he smiles sheepishly.

"Sorry I'm late, Professor kept us back" the Italian flies almost perfectly from him. I smile at him as he approaches and kisses my forehead.

"I am so sorry Clara, I tried to..."

"It's okay Elliot" I smile and Dad nods "it's okay now, you're here, and that's what matters"

After finishing sixth form, Elliot decided he wanted to move to Italy to be with me. His family supported him as he decided he would go to the University of Florence where he is learning Italian and studying Italian and English literature. He's taking a special course which means he can go online with English Tutors as well without even leaving Italy.

It was not my decision for him to move here with us, and I will continue to say this. But more his and his family. Nonna even sat him down and talked him through it, comparing the positives and he negatives in the attic of the florist, but he was persistent.

Which I suppose; is really sweet. But he doesn't have to put his whole life on hold for me.

He tells me his plan is to continue his part time Mafia training with Vince and someone called Gino from a different section, until he can work alongside Dad and I. Which apparently, his Dad supports as the Mafia have now become an official sponsor for his company, completely confidential of course. Also finish his work at the University, learn fluent Italian, which to be honest won't take long as he is basically semi fluent, and then that's where he will stand.

"My Daughter, Clara, is officially of age now" Dad begins, straightening in his seat. "She will therefore be an official part of my team, when Elliot here is ready, he too will join us. The loss, two years ago, of Milo, introduced to us the Milo Trust, which involves how the Mafia will do everything in our power to straighten the wrongs we have made on the innocent and the worthy. This, as some of you will remember, was his idea, since this year would have marked his 30th birthday, I want to put this into action more than ever. Rosa here, Milo's beloved sister, will continue this idea, as well as offering some of our resources to the orphanages that Milo's Mother worked so hard on. My aim is to make the Mafia great again, no longer will be the threat of Italy, we will be almost a second military as I hope to find bonds with the Pope himself and the Prime minister of Italy..."

I glance over to Elliot, who is looking intently at Dad, nodding every so often as he rests his folded arms upon the desk. He must feel me looking at him as he turns and smiles, laying his hand upon my own.

What really hurt was the look on Hugo's face when Elliot told him he was moving away, but I'm pleased to say, we see Chloe, him, and Austin at every holiday or chance we get. He's been adapting so easy to the Mafia lifestyle, it's honestly incredible.

"Are you okay?" I mouth to him, he's been having sleepless nights himself recently, overloaded with work and a busy schedule. I woke up just yesterday night, to see him scribbling furiously at the desk in our room, eyes dropping every few seconds as he then jerked himself awake. I had to pull him to bed but he slept like a baby as soon as he hit the mattress, so I cuddled him close in case he tried to work again if he woke up.

He nods, smiling and tracing small patterns on my arm. Then he returns his attention to Dad, whilst still tracing at my arm.

***

Although it's nearly been two years, we rarely come here. But when we do, it's quiet and extremely sad.

Dad leads the way past the headstones, followed by Rosa, then Vine, Junior and Marco, Nona then follows behind Marco, and then finally Elliot and I walk alongside at the back.

Every step that we take, it's as if Elliot becomes more and more tense, that day still haunts him, and it haunts me too. I was one of the first at Milo's side as the life faded from him. But he had such a great life and he was such a great person, so I always focus on the positives.

"Remember Elliot, he's in a better place, and he died doing the right thing" I whisper to him, he nods and I feel him relax beside me. We walk towards the stones, one for Milo and one for his Mother and lay flowers around it.

"And he was forever grateful for all you did for this family Elliot" my Dad pipes up, sliding up next to me. "We all were"

Elliot nods, he smiles and wraps his arm round my waist. I cuddle into his side as Dad smiles affectionately at us.

"And I'm sure Milo agrees, we're all waiting for grandchildren from the two of you. What age are you thinking?" He says with a serious face, I feel El tense again, I roll my eyes.

"Yes and I'm awaiting great grandchildren" says Nona and Vince adds "yeah, we'll be great godfathers and imagine Rosa as a Godmother!" Rosa laughs and pulls herself up from where she knelt by the stones.

"Guys!" I complain, a small smile creeping up my face.

"We're just joking Elliot!" Dad grins wide and they all burst out laughing, I look up to see Elliot red in the face and looking uncomfortable. He laughs awkwardly.

I mean; Milo would love how they are all laughing over him, he wasn't one for sadness, but we are in a cemetery, so I do my very best to calm them down.

We leave the cemetery and I walk along holding Elliot's hand. We walk over to the car and to my left, I can see that Elliot still looks slightly uncomfortable. So I shake my head as my Dad waits for me to slide in before him, he smiles and nods.

"Talk to you later, Tesoro"

"Yes Dad" I nod.

I smile at a confused Elliot and lead him away from the cemetery. We walk together across the main centre of Florence, some people turn to look at us as we do as I suppose we were all over magazines and newspapers a few months ago. The sun shines out from the clouds, so I shed my jacket and tie it around my waist, reaching back to also tie up my brown hair, which I have now placed the blue highlights back into.

"Clara?"

"Mhm"

"Where are we going?"

"I'm buying you lunch"

"But..." I turn and grab him, pulling him close so I can put my finger to his lips. His eyes widen and I smirk at him, chuckling slightly at his shock. He does however, put his hands on my waist.

"Hush up Elly-Belly-Welly-Kins" I taunt and he frowns, his forehead creasing and lips pressing further to my finger. "I just got paid, it's on me"

Two years ago, I moved to England to live with my Nona. I wasn't supposed to talk to anyone, but eventually that faded out and I befriended Hugo, Chloe and Elliot. Then later Austin. I removed the blue from my hair and the Italian accent faded from my voice. I befriended Mrs Burberry and became closer to my Nona again. I watched Chloe stand up to Vanessa who immediately had shown dislike to me, I watched Hugo turn his back on the only person he ever trusted and who trusted in me, then how he came out to a whole church full of people and ended up with acceptance and a boyfriend. I slowly fell in love with Elliot, how he shed his popular attitude and how he grew into a new person, supporting his friends and even going so far as to help save my life several times in one day.

So yeah, I hid myself away for months, well my secret identify anyway. But now it's back and I'm working at my Father's side. Nona is working with us again too and Rosa is happier than ever. Milo's loss was tragic, but we definitely won't forget him.

I am literally, Elliot's Mafia Girl. One day, that will become more apparent than ever, he will stand at my side and help my Dad with the Mafia and the Milo Trust. He learned that who my Father is, doesn't define me for who I am, I was still the same girl, but with a killer background.

Eventually, the organisation of the Italian Mafia will fall into my hands. And although scary and completely scary, I will have Elliot at my side, to support and have faith in me when I am at my best and my worst. And Then we will run the Mafia.

Together.

THAT'S IT! I decided I'm just going to put my A/N here. Thank you so much for reading and sticking by me even if this took forever. It means so so much. I have come to love Clariot and CO and this has been like no other writing experience for me.

Perhaps, I will write a book of short little stories about some Mafia members and their backgrounds, but until then, I'm hanging up this book for good. There will be no sequel. If you have any further questions about this book, feel free to message me!

Thanks as always to my dear friend, Sian_1357, you always keep me strong and keep me going by supporting my work. Even though I not the best at affection, I love you lots. TWO YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP *high fives*. If the insane happens one day, and I end up a published author or something like that, I know you'll be there x

THANK YOU TO ALL YOU SUPPORTING READERS WHO HAVE COMMENTED AND VOTERS! AND TO THE GHOSTIES HAHA. Ily all! This book has done better than Remembering Our Summer, but it has not had as much of a following if that makes sense, so don't be afraid ghosties!

I'm going to be working now, on Common People, Absolution and Let's Just Go. So go check them out!
