Wedding Bells
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.
That was all Ruru and Kylie were trying to do at the moment. They were quite a distance away, but their hearts were beating the same fast thud- going 'lubdub, lubdub' and not missing a single second.
Kylie looked at her reflection in the mirror. She looked blooming with so much happiness in her eyes, the kind of happiness that cannot be swayed by anything or anyone. That lady in the mirror is the very same one that will be a mother in a few months. The very same one that will be walking down the aisle of the church towards the man she truly and utterly loves to bits.
That man. Just thinking of him makes her smile from ear to ear.
"Bulldog, sobrang excited ka yata maging misis kaya ganyan ka maka-ngiti," said a manly voice that made her head turn to the door. She saw the man she loved and loved her since day one, her father. He was leaning against the door with her sisters, brother, mother, and step-mother behind him.
Robin walked towards Kylie with open arms, "Anak ko, ikakasal ka na!"
"Opo, Pa. Magiging misis na ako," she beamed.
"Anak, are you okay? How are you feeling?" Liezl soothingly rubs her hand up and down her daughter's arm.
"I'm fine, Ma. Nervous and excited, that's all," she chuckled.
"Oh my goodness, Ate. I still can't believe you're getting married already," Ali hugged his sister gently.
"Well, it has to happen someday, Ali," Queenie squeezed Kylie's arm gently.
"Ate, I just want this to sink in. You are getting married to the love of your life," Zhen said clearly.
Her words echoed in each and every corner of her mind and she smiled again.
"Kyky, di ka na baby. Magiging reyna na ang isa sa mga prinsesa ko," Robin said tearing up.
"Papa, please don't cry. You're making me cry," she said fanning her eyes and looking up to restrain the tears.
"When did you get so big, Bulldog?" Liezl joins in also at the verge of crying.
"Magiging mommy ka na din," Mariel smiled at her.
"Opo, Tita," she caressed her still flat tummy.
"By the way, Ate. Kuya Ruru wanted to give you this," Ali said and placed a silvery blue box with a golden ribbon on top.
"What's this?" she curiously asked herself.
She opened the box to find a golden bracelet with aqua marines. The design didn't look very modern, but it was beautiful. Beside it was a piece of scented paper that was folded thrice. She opened it and read the words that were written by her husband-to-be.
Para ti mi amore
This is an heirloom that is to be given by the eldest male Madrid of each generation to the love of his life. And you are mine, Love. Please wear this bracelet, huwag mong tanggalin, bad things happen. Haha just kidding! I love you, mi amore. Can't wait to marry you
Love,
Ruru
"Kahit kailan talaga 'tong lalakeng 'to," she laughed at his Ghost Bride reference.
"Pero kinilig ka naman," Robin teased.
She chuckled- a soft, excited, full of joy chuckle. She just couldn't wait.

"Kuyaaaaaa," Rere singsonged as she peaked through the door. "Damn, gwapo ng kuya ko ah!"
"Sige, maganda ka nalang din," he laughed and half-hugged his sister. "Bango mo ah! Amoy kadiri!"
"Ang sama mo talaga!" she hit his shoulder.
"Uy, huwag sasaktan ang groom, makukunot ang suit," Jackie jokingly said.
Ruru consciously patted down his suit and looked in the mirror. He grinned. Finally, the woman of his dreams will officially and legally become his. Kylie Nicole Padilla-Madrid, so perfect!
"Uuyy, nako-conscious! Huwag kang magalala, Kuya. Kahit ang panget mo, papakasalan ka ni Ate Kylie, mahal na mahal ka nun," Rara patted his cheek.
"Laki na ng Ruruboy namin!" Bhong playfully exclaimed and acted like he was gonna ruffle his well-organized hair. He laughed when Ruru flinched and made a face.
"Kuya, pinapabigay ni Ate Kylie," Rere handed him a blue velvet box with a golden string as a ribbon.
He opened the box to see a pair of pink socks with red hearts and beside it was a letter. He unfolded it and started reading.
Love,
So you don't get cold feet haha! I love you, Ru. So excited to say 'I do'.
XOXO,
Kylie
P.S.
Also because me marrying you should be more than enough of a gift for you haha.
"It is, Love," he whispered and laughed. He touched the soft material of the socks and thought of how girly he would look in those socks, but he really didn't care. These socks were given to him by the love of his life.
"Luh, nabaliw na si Kuya, Da," Rara whispered loudly to her father.
"Baliw! Kung di lang naka ayos yung buhok mo ngayon, babatukan talaga kita," Ruru joked.
"Kuya, dali na! Punta na tayo sa church!"
-
The excited groom walked in the aisle with a grin on his jolly face and as soon as he reached the end of the aisle, he stood still on the side with his best man and best friend, Rocco. He looked around the church's walls not being able to keep still. The flowers were beautifully contrasting the church's brown and gold, old-ish vibe with its modern-looking blue color.
Sooner or later, the flower girls passed and threw the petals onto the ground and once they completed that their wedding singer, Christian Bautista,
started singing their wedding song- the one song that would be a permanent part, not only of his playlist, but also of his life.
Her beauty covered in a translucent veil that trailed behind her blessed the church as the mighty doors opened. She looked like an angel.
He started tearing up as it sank it that the woman slowly walking in the arms of her parents was gonna be his wife in a matter of moments. That beautiful, beautiful being is gonna be his wife.
She saw his teary eyes and could no longer hold back her own. She was so, so happy. There was this unexplainable joy inside her as unstoppable as a wildfire. The people around her showed nothing but smiles at her as she walked passed them, but she didn't even notice them because her eyes were pinned on the man looking dashing in his suit, teary-eyed and so precious.
She got closer and closer and when she finally got to him, he jumped slightly at the mere sight of her, "Damn, Baby, you're looking gorgeous."
"Ru, ang Kylie namin magiging Kylie mo na. Alagaan mo siya, ha?" said Robin as he and Liezl handed Kylie to Ruru.
"Be patient with her especially now that she's pregnant, okay?" Liezl smiled.
"Opo," he smiled in return and gently put his forehead against the back of their hands.
He stood up properly and faces his bride, which still made him want to jump because of her outstanding gorgeousness, and smiled at her as they walked towards the altar.

"Kylie, do you take Jose Ezekiel Madrid to be your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold, 'til death do you part?" the priest asked and everybody's excitement level rose.
"I do," Kylie replied looking straight into Ruru's warm, brown orbs.
"Ruru, do you take Kylie Nicole Padilla to be your lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, 'til death do you part?"
Ruru smiled, "I do."
Everyone in the church was all ears. It was time for the vows. That moment when they were to cry as if it was scripted to do so.
"Love," Ruru started. "I want to tell you that I am the luckiest man in this universe to be able to call the most beautiful soul that has ever walked this planet mine."
Kylie pushed him a little and wiped her tears.
"We both know it wasn't love at first sight," he laughed, "But, Baby, I assure you this love is forever. I promise that I will always be here to remind you of how much you are worth and to love you even when the going gets tough. I promise to strive to become the best version of myself for you. I love you, mi amore," he kissed her hand lovingly.
"Ru, I love you so much," she said just above a whisper. "I love you so much there are never enough words to say to you. In my whole existence, I never expected to be with someone like you. I don't deserve you and yet God has given me the privilege of calling you my husband and the father of my child. I know that I will not always be at my best and you won't always find me beautiful, but I trust in you and in the love that we have for each other to help us get through it all. I know that life won't always be easy on us, but I promise that when your days are long, I will be there to remind you that the night is young and it can only get better. I promise to love you at your best and even at your worst. I loved you yesterday, I love you now, and I will love you for the rest of my life."
"You may now kiss the bride," said the priest. Ruru jumped in excitement as if he was a middle school student who was about to have his first kiss. Everybody laughed.
He slowly raised her veil over her head and swooned when he saw her face, "I love you so, so much, my love."
And she wasn't even given time to say it back because he already took her lips in his. They shared a kiss as sweet as honey and Ruru's hand cupped her pretty face as the other one caressed her waist.
"I love you too, Babe," she said as they broke away from each other.
"Love, pwede request? Please?"
She nodded.
"Pwede isa pa? Just one more time, I swear," he begged.
She laughed and tiptoed to kiss him on the lips and wrap her arms around his neck. That simple act sent the crowd squealing and clapping.
"Iba ka din, Madrid," Kylie rubbed her nose against his.

The only people in the reception were the ones that were close to them and the ones that were involved in their love story, but the press got a taste of it too. There were a few people from the media, but not too many courtesy of the couple's plea.
They just finished the first dance and that kinky garter game which everyone loved. Now, the newly weds were attending to their guests, specifically the Encantadia cast.
"Naks, naman, Madrid! Sineryoso mo talaga yung KyRu forever ng fans niyo ah," Rocco laughed and tapped both of their shoulders.
"Which Madrid though?" he jokingly asked. "There's two- ay, three na pala including the baby."
"Corny nito," Buboy side commented.
"Ganyan talaga 'pag inlove," Ruru winked to Kylie.
"Hindi naman siguro ako ganoon ka-corny, Love," she chuckled.
He smiled and gave her a quick kiss on the head before burrowing his face in her neck and whispering, "You smell so good."
"Babe, I know that was supposed to be sweet, but that's just creepy," she whispered and put her hand over his arm on her waist.
"Hoy, ano ba yan?! Wala kayong consideration for the single people," Mikee joked.
"Kasal namin, di kami maga-adjust," Ruru laughed and left a chaste kiss on his wife's shoulder.
"Okay," Gabbi prolonged the word. "Shoo na! Go to other tables. You guys are too sweet, ants are starting to crawl on us."
The couple shook their heads and headed for their table with Ruru still clinging on her arm.
"Babe, naman. You can hold my hand or whatever just don't put your weight on me. You're heavy kaya," she complained while the latter pouted and hugged her from behind.
"Sowwy," he said in a small, innocent voice.
"Stop making pa-cute," she instructed lovingly with laughter behind her voice.
"Why?"
"Because I'm your wife and I say so."
"Ang sarap naman ng wife," he smiled.
She hit him on the forehead, mistaking what he said to be dirty.
"I mean, ang sarap sa feeling na asawa na kita. Eto naman kase and dumi ng utak," he joked and pulled the chair out for her.
"Well, I'm sorry, but it sounded wrong."
He moved his chair even closer to hers, if that was even possible, and put an arm around her as she snuggled up against him.
"Let's stay like this forever, my love," Kylie whispered.
"Always and forever, mi amore," then he leaned down to give her plump lips another sweet kiss.
