Mornings 2.0
Ruru groaned. He woke up to the blinding sun on his eyes. Like that wasn't irritating enough, Kylie wasn't there when he reached out for her.
He slowly opened his eyes and confirmed that the other side of the bed and the co-sleeper was empty. He grunted and got up, not bothering to fix the bed which will probably get him into trouble with his wife. He grabbed the breath spray that they keep at the bedside table (because bad breath isn't good for early morning make outs, guys) and sprayed twice.
Still topless with his hair in a mess, he walked downstairs. They weren't at the living room so they must be at the kitchen. And he was right. Amir sat on his highchair and was shaking his play keys, entertained by the shackling sound it made.
He picked him up and kissed his chubby little cheek, "Hey, Buddy. Where's Mama?"
The infant waved the colorful, plastic keys and chanted, "Mamamamama!"
He chuckled, "Silly boy, that's not Mama. But Mama's that loud when she's mad, huh?"
"Yes, and Mama will slit your throat with a knife if you don't stop talking to our son about me like that," Kylie said loudly from the kitchen causing Ruru to shake his head and laugh.
This girl, really, how can you not love her?
He slowly crept his way to his wife. She was cutting up tomatoes and mushrooms with her apron loosely tied on her waist. He hugged her from the back and buried his nose in the nook of her neck.
"You know what else Mama is other than loud?" he muffled.
"Get away from me, Bastard. I'm cooking," she said tried to remove his hands from her waist.
"Nuh-uh. Again, you know what else Mama is?" he said and lifted his head.
Kylie rolled her eyes, "What?"
"She's hot as hell," he whispered and nibbled on her ear.
Kylie swallowed her own saliva as her cheeks started burning. She cleared her throat trying to resist the urge to moan as Ruru placed open-mouthed kisses on her neck and smoothly crept his hand under her long shirt to tuck both his thumbs on the garter of her shorts.
"R-ru, sto-op that please," she struggled to say as Ruru sucked on her 'spot' just at the boundary of her neck and shoulder.
"Hm? Stop what, mi amore?" he asked in between kisses.
Shit! He just called me 'mi amore'.
"That th-thing you're doing."
"What am I doing, mi amore?"
"T-turning me o-on."
"Nuh-uh," he refused stubbornly.
"Love, sige na. I need to make breakfast."
"Go ahead and make breakfast for our son. I'll have mine when he's done," he said double meaningly.
"Love, please?" she pleaded.
"Okay, fine," he said and bit her neck.
Kylie squeaked," Ru!"
"That's a punishment for leaving me alone in the bed," he smirked.
"Fucker."
"That's right. I'm the fucker and you're the fuckee," he winked before his wife's palm playfully landed on his face.
"Loko ka!"
"But you love me."
"You want me to throw tomatoes at that ugly face of yours?" she said with two tomato slices in hand.
"Like you can," he mocked.
"Try me," she said and threw the tomato slices at him. Surprisingly, he caught them with his mouth.
"Haha! I'm a boss at life!" he exclaimed proudly while chewing on tomato slices.
"Whatever, you're ugly anyways," she jokingly rolled her eyes.
"Ugly? Me, ugly?" he asked pointing to himself as he swallowed what was in his mouth.
"Yes."
"Why do you think your son is so good looking if his father is ugly, aber?"
"Uhm, he looks like me, duh!"
"No, he doesn't."
"Yeah, he does."
"He has my skin tone."
"He has my eyes and nose. Oh, and the smile is mine too."
"His dimples are mine and so is his face shape. The built is mine too," he smirked showing his deep dimple.
"Whatever, go look after your son before I actually slit your throat with this knife," she said.
"Kiss muna," he pouted.
"Go na!"
"Wala pa akong good morning kiss. Come on, Love," he coaxed and leaned in closer to her.
She gave him what was supposedly a quick peck but, he held the back of her neck. He started to deepen the kiss slowly by slipping his tongue in her mouth. He explored each and every corner of her mouth with his tongue while she did the same. He was just about to pin her on the wall when she broke away from the kiss panting.
"Go attend to your son now please," she said, their foreheads against each other.
He slid the tip of his nose down the bridge of hers to the tip of it, "I love you."
"I love you too and so does your son so go!" she laughed pushing him away half-heartedly.
He gave her one last peck on her lips and a smack on her butt before running away to his son. Kylie just shook her head. Her husband's antics, really.
"Come on, Buddy. Bonding muna tayo sa sala. Mama's not done cooking yet," Ruru said as he carried his son in his arms.
"Mamamamama," the baby babbled with the big, colorful play keys were in his mouth.
He sat down and placed the baby on his lap, "No, not Mama. Baba. Ba-baaa."
"Mamamama."
"You've been saying that for so long already. Come on, say, Ba-ba-ba-ba," the kid's been saying 'Mama' for two weeks now and still no clue on the 'b' word.
Amir giggled in return and shook his saliva-covered play keys.
Ruru grunted, "Ikaw bata ka. Mas love mo si Mama noh?"
Amir looked at him with his head tilted at an angle. He then mumbled incoherent noises, as if responding to his father.
"Huh? What? You love Baba also? Yes, I love you too, Bud," Ruru replied, nodding his head.
"You, little sir, will grow up to be a fine man, okay? You will treat other people with respect and kindness even when they don't deserve it. You will be smiling as bright as your Mama and be as feisty as her when it comes to defense. Be humble always. I promise, me and your mother will do our best to mold you into the great man that you are to be," he said cupping the baby's face with one hand.
He dropped a kiss on his head and pulled him closer so that Amir's head was on his chest.
"Bababababa," the little baby said as he patted his father's bare chest.
Ruru's eyes widened, "Did you just say Baba?"
"Bababababa!" Amir claps his hands.
"That's right! Baba, that's me!" he said and lifted the baby to kiss his cheek.
"Love, he just said Baba!" he exclaimed loudly.
Kylie, who just finished serving the food on the table, emerged from the dining area with a smile.
"Is that so?" she asked and sat on the couch.
"Yup, and I didn't have to bribe him with anything," he replied with a great sense of pride and put one arm around his wife, the other supporting his son's back.
"I love mornings," she said and planted a kiss on her son's back.
"But we love you more than mornings, Mama," Ruru said and kissed her nose.
"You know what else would make me love mornings?"
"What?"
"The food on the table. Let's go before it turns cold!"
