First Dance

The music starts to play as the newly married couple holds each others' hands. They both start to sway to the every note of 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran. Everyone stared at them in awe, paying respect to the overflowing love of the two.

The glances following them to whichever corner their hearts took them to.

"You're beautiful," he whispers, staring straight into her eyes. Her eyes that shone so brightly, they made the stars look dull.

"Not too bad yourself, Madrid," she says trying to slip in some humor into the very serious and, not to say, romantic moment.

"You say that like you're not a Madrid yourself now, my love," he said and smiled, his dimples making an appearance.

"It still feels so surreal. I'm a Madrid now," she said also grinning from ear to ear.

"Yes, you are, my love. I'm so happy to give you my last name. Oh, and did I mention that it's yours to keep?" he asked in slight humor.

"Oh, really? Well, I'm honored, my dear husband," she smiled. My husband, that sounded like the best thing in the world.

"Hey, what's that smile about, my lovely wife?" he asked and cocked her eyebrows at her.

"You're my husband now," she said like a child, "The most handsome and macho action prince is my husband."

He blushed and looked away, "Kylie."

"So cute naman, my hubby," she said with a smile permanently plastered on her face as she pinched his right cheek.

"Kylie, I love you. I love you more than I do with my life," he said and placed his forehead on hers. He closed his eyes and waited for her response, smiling.

"I love you too, Ruru. I love you more than I do with neon lipstick," she said giggling silently. Everyone knew she hated neon lippies. She also closed her eyes as Ruru giggled with her, "But seriously, I love you more than my life too, Ru."

"The song's ending, Baby," he said, "But, my love for you never will."

That earned him a playful slap on the shoulder but, he isn't blind not to see the redness of her face, " You're so corny."

   "I just love you."

    "And I love you too."

"I don't deserve this. Darling, you look perfect tonight," he sang to her as they opened their eyes. He leaned his head closer to hers and planted a soft and loving kiss on hers, which she responded too.

-
Ruru jolted awake when he heard the loud screams of his princess. He got to his feet and walked to the co-sleeper beside Kylie's side of the bed, happy she was still asleep. Picking up his daughter, he smiled at how her screams turned into little whimpers.

"Aww, my baby's crying. Are you hungry?" he cooes as he grabs the baby bottle on the bedside table. They heated it before going to sleep knowing Noelle would be crying at night to be fed.

"Here na oh, stop crying na, my princess," he continued cooing as he fed her the bottle which the infant hungrily took.

Noelle kept feeding on her bottle as Ruru stared at her in awe. This same baby girl was in an incubator just a few months ago. Now, she was in his arms, staring back at him.

She was so breathtakingly beautiful already. Her pretty little eyes, that tall nose, her pink lips, the thick jet-black hair on her head, her long and curled lashes— she's perfect.

"Hay, Noelle. Kung Alam mo lang talaga kung gaano kita ka mahal, Anak," he sighed as he touched her cheeks with the back of his hand. He removed the bottle from her mouth gently because she already finished it. He made her burp before deciding to put her back down.

Noelle's head was just about to touch her co-sleeper when she started crying again. Ruru sighed and and raised her up again.

"Ito naman, ang clingy. Mana ka nga sa Mama mo," he laughed at what he said. Kylie would have smacked his head if she was awake. He started swaying in a slow, steady movement.

"Tahan na po, kamahalan," he said, " Baba's dancing na for you oh."

"I want to dance with you, Baba," he imagined her saying.

He held her little hand in his and started swaying again. Noelle's cries turned into little sobs and finally disappeared.

"Oh, Baba is your first dance, princess," he said, "And Baba will be your only dance."

He looked at her little face that was serene a while ago but was now a frown, "Okay, fine. Maybe Kuya, Tito, and your Lolos can dance with you also."

Her face turned into a slight pout when he said, "You cannot dance with anyone but me, your kuya, titos and lolos until you're 70 years old." And as if she understood it, she pouted even more.

"Okay, sige, 60 years old nalang," then Noelle's lips started to quiver signaling her father that she was gonna explode into a fit of cries. Before all that happened, he changed her position and started swaying, patting her back

"Don't cry, princess. Baba's here," he cooed. He looked down at her and saw she was falling asleep. Noelle loved it when her head was on her Baba's chest. He smiled.

"Good night, sweetheart," he said and kissed her forehead and placed her on the co-sleeper.

-
"Baba, I wanna do ballet," Noelle says as she twirls around on one foot in front of her father.

"Ballet? Don't you like gymnastics and taekwando?" he asked.

"I like pero I also wanna do ballet kase Princess Genevive does ballet also," she said smiling. She's been watching 'Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses' for the past week and she loved it.

"Anak, you don't have to do ballet to be a princess. You're Baba's princess naman," he reasoned. He wanted her to do what she loved but, with two sports that she's already doing and her studies, he didn't know if her body could handle it.

"Please, Baba? Please?" she pleads as she puts her hands together and pouts.

"Sige, pero we have to ask Mama first, okay?" he gave up. He was nothing when it came to his daughter's drama.

"Yey! Dance with me Baba!" she exclaimed while raising her hands.

"What song do you wanna dance to, sweetheart?" he asked and rode on to her excitement.

"Your song for me," she said sweetly as her father carried her in his arms.

"Which one? 'Perfect'?" he asked teasing her.

"No, that's for Mama," she pouted and crosses her arms.

"Say You Won't Let Go?" he continued teasing.

"That's also for Mama. You forgot na your song for me, hmp!" she said as she pouted even more, if that was possible.

Ruru found it so cute. Her pink lips turned into a perfect shaped pout. Those chubby little cheeks turning even more pink with anger. Her eyebrows knitted together causing little wrinkles to form on her forehead.

"Of course not, Baby. I'll never ever forget kaya," he said as he kissed her forehead.

"Sing it na, Baba! Sing the angel song!"

"Huh? I don't understand, what was that?"

"I mean, sing the angel song, Baba, please," she smiled sweetly and gave her father a big kiss on the cheek.

Ruru started singing 'Angels Brought Me Here' and held her hand as he carried her. This was one of the best perks of fatherhood. Moments like these were priceless, precious.

A few seconds later, Noelle sagged against her chest as she fell asleep. He laughed and fixed her position still carrying her, and no, he does not have plans on putting her down.

"I love you, my angel," he whispers into her hair as he placed a long kiss on her head.
