"Did you send the invites?" I ask Ollie.
"Just got back from doing it."
"Did you invite your mum in the end?"
"I did."
I wrap my arms around his neck as he rests his hands on my hips. "Proud of you."
We're stood in the foyer of our four bedroom house. It's the kind of house I would dream about as kid, the sort I was jealous of. Ollie made it come true. He makes all my dreams come true.
"Well, it's down to you really. You make me feel brave."
"I'll also kick her to the curb if she dares act out."
"She's been better lately, kinder."
"It's that therapy she's being forced to go to."
He laughs, "And who made her do that?"
I grin at him, "Me. If she wants to see her granddaughter it's the least she can do."
"You're a great mum." He tells me, leaning down to kiss my head.
"That's because you're a great partner."
"God, when did life get so perfect?"
"Oh, that's easy." I laugh. "It's when I met you. Murderous ex's aside."
"Not funny." He says, but he's smiling down at me.
"A little funny."
"Have you decided on a Maid of Honour?"
I sigh. "No. I can't pick a sister and if I pick Niamh over a sister they'll all kill me."
"You also have to make my sisters bridesmaids."
"Do I?"
"Isn't that the tradition?"
"I hope not."
"Well, you better get to it because it's less than a year before you become my wife."
"Should we just elope?"
He kisses my check, trails kisses down my neck. "For you, anything, but for right now I think that daughter of ours could do with a sibling."
I laugh, "Could she?"
"Definitely."
He kisses me with a sweetness and sincerity I don't think I'll ever get used to. My, how I love him. How lucky I am to love him, how lucky I am to be loved by him. Just... how lucky I am to live this life. To be his wife. To have the daughter I do and family I do.
The me after Paddy couldn't have foreseen this. The me in the courthouse didn't know this was coming. If I could go back I would tell that version of me the best very is yet to come, and she's the luckiest woman on the planet.
The end.
