"Hola, mamácita......."

*Slap!*

"What?!" I say as I wince in pain. More of my pride was hurt than any actual physical pain. I couldn't help myself. I was standing here outside of Samantha's apartment building per Jacob. When I saw a red headed beauty pass me.

Trying to use my Hispanic charm and smolder to get her to notice me, just ended with me getting slapped across the face. Not that it would really go anywhere since I would only get into a serious relationship with my mate.

I rub at the stinging sensation lingering on my face as I survey the apartment complex. Jake wants to make sure those guys don't come back after Sam. Although how would they.... to start off they were human and secondly, they don't even know where she lives. Plus, he put one of them in the hospital. I understand it though, He mostly just wants to keep an eye on her. Plus, I've grown to care for her as well.

She just went inside a few minutes ago from a run. I ran with her and Mia but kept my distance so she wouldn't notice me. Although, I know Mia did.

I walk back inside the building and immediately I catch a whiff of a strange scent. The scent grew stronger as I neared Samantha's apartment.

It smelled like honeysuckle and cinnamon but with a twist of something else I just couldn't put my finger on. What I did know was that, the source of the scent is not human.

"Boss, you better get over here quick." I mind linked Jake right away. I'm not sure what is going on but I don't want to get an earful later on why I waited too late to let him know that there was a possible threat.

"What's wrong?" Jake said back.

"I'm not sure if theres a problem yet but I was walking up to Sam's apartment when I caught a scent of something. I'm not sure what it is but it's definitely not human." I say as I arrive to her front door that is slightly ajar with the keys still in the lock.

I walk inside and see everything is its place. There doesn't seem to have been a struggle. Mia walks out of Samantha's room as she let out whimper. "Okay, now we've got a problem. Samantha's gone."

About fifteen minutes later, I'm still trying to figure out what the scent is. Something feels off here. Jacob walks in the apartment, tense and agitated he passes me to go down to Sam's bedroom and comes back out.

"What did you see? What happened? Tell me everything that happened since the moment you arrived." His irises turned a bright gold, indicating that his wolf is close to the surface. One little thing can push him right over the edge and then we'll have one giant wolf standing in the middle of the living room.

So I start from the beginning. Explaining every detail since the moment I arrived....leaving out the part about the red head. As I finish, he just stays silent. He turns away and walks out onto te balcony. I know he's trying to piece together what may have happened.

His phone rings and he looks down at the screen. He points to the caller ID as I walk up and see who's calling.

*****Unknown Calling*******

He shrugs his shoulders and answers the call.

"Hello...." He says into the microphone. It is silent for a moment before a sweet soft voice speaks up asking if she is speaking to Jacob Midnight.

"Yes. This is he. How can I help you?"

"The details don't matter right now. What does matter is that I know who has your mate and where she is?"

"WHERE IS SHE?! YOU WILL TELL ME NOW!" Jake roars back.

"Silence, Wolf! No harm will come to your mate. She is dear and precious to us. We are keeping her safe with us. I do apologize for how it was handled but she does not know of the supernatural world. Thus, we must handle this with care. Please meet me as soon as possible and I will explain it all to you."

"How do I know I can trust you? How do I know you even have or know where Samantha is?"

"Because fae never lie. Meet me at the Sunset Peak at nine o'clock tonight. I will be the waiting." She says.

"If you lie, don't think I'll hesitate to cut you down! No one messes with what's mine. Especially my mate." He exhales loudly and then says, "Fine! I'll meet you. What's your name, fae?"

"My name is Lorella. See you soon, Alpha Midnight." She says lastly and hangs up. Jake stares at his phone in his hand for a moment longer before he looks over at me and says, "I thought they were extinct," With a look of disbelief.

I laugh out loud and shrug my shoulders, saying, "I guess where going to meet us some fairies."
