Jack is sitting on a bench at the park. He watches the kids run around and the parents either talking to each other or running around with their children. We watched the dogs run around in the dog park and the wildlife scamper across the ground and fly through the sky.

He looks over toward the monkey bars and sees Maddy with a little girl going across the bars. He smiles and walks over to them.

Jack: Hey. How are you doing? Who is this little one?

Maddy: This is my daughter. I adopted her because her parents didn't want her because she was born deaf and they are both hearing. I'm sorry I didn't tell you when we first met. I was scared that someone would overhear us and try to harm her or something.

Jack: That's alright. I understand the importance of keeping her safe.

At that moment the little girl gets off the monkey bars and goes over to them.

Jocelyn: Hello. My name is Jocelyn Michaels and I am 3 years old. Mommy calls me Josie. What is your name?

Jack: You have a pretty name. My name is Jackson Tomlinson, but you and your mother can call me Jack.

Josie: Thank you. You have a wonderful name.

Jack: Thank you. Do you want to play on the playground equipment?

Josie: Yes!

The three of them play on the playground equipment for several hours. Soon enough, it becomes lunchtime and they all go to a Mexican restaurant and have tacos and quesadillas for lunch. When that is finished, Jack drives the two of them back to their mansion.

Maddy: Thank you for driving us home. And thank you for having our car brought back to our mansion.

Jack: You're welcome. I hope you both had a wonderful time today.

Josie: We did! I had a lot of fun at the park today.

Jack: I'm glad. Would you like to meet up again at the park?

Josie: Yes! Yes! Yes!

Maddy: I guess we have our answer.

John: It seems so. I'll pick you up next week at 8 and we can spend the whole day together if that's okay.

Maddy. That's perfectly fine with me. We'll see you next week at 8.

John. Cool!

John leaves and gets into his car and drives off. He arrives at his mansion and has dinner, changes into his nightclothes, and falls asleep under the covers.

The following week on a clear and sunny Friday morning, John arrives at Maddy and Josie's mansion to pick them up.

Jack knocks on the door and hears the sound of tiny feet running to the door followed by her mother telling her to wait. Maddy opens the door and smiles as she is met with Jack.

Jack: Hello. Are the two of you ready?

Josie: Yes! I can't wait to spend the entire day with you and mommy.

Maddy. She woke up and got dressed and ate breakfast so fast that I thought she was going to tire herself out before making it to the park.

Jack laughs. Josie is a very energetic little girl.

Maddy: Yes she certainly is. I just wish I could find someone to be her father.

Jack: Well maybe that will happen sooner or later.

Maddy: I hope so. I like this certain guy very much, but I don't know if he feels the same.

Jack smiles. You wouldn't happen to be talking about me, would you?

Maddy smiles as well. Yes, I would. And I love you. Very much.

Jack: And I love you very much.

Josie: Can we go to the park now? Please?

Maddy: Of course.

The three of them make their way to the park and Jack and Maddy watch Josie run around and play on the equipment.

After an hour, Josie comes back over to them. Mommy, is daddy going to come back home with us?

Jack looks at her with surprise and smiles. Do you want me to be your father?

Josie: Yes! I love you very much, and I want you to be my daddy.

Jack: Well I love you very much as well, and I will be your daddy. And I'm sorry if this is too fast, but will you allow me to marry your mommy?

Josie jumps up and down and hugs Jack. Yes! Yes! Yes!

Jack smiles and hugs her back. He turns to Maddy and kneels on one knee, producing a velvet blue box with a gold ring with a diamond in the middle and red, gold, green, and black gemstones along the side of the band.

Jack. I love you very much, and I love Josie very much. I just became a father and I would like to become your husband and I want to adopt Josie as my daughter. Will you marry me?

Maddy has tears down her cheeks and is smiling brightly. Yes! Yes, I will marry you!

Jack slides the ring onto her left ring finger and stands up. He kisses her sweetly and then kisses Josie sweetly on the cheek.

Jack: And as for your question my little darling, I will come home with the two of you if it is okay with your mother.

Maddy: Of course you can come home with us.

The three of them go to a restaurant and have lunch. When they are done, they go to Maddy and Josie's mansion and rest. They watch tv and later have dinner. They then get ready for bed. Jack and Maddy put Josie to bed, and then go to Maddy's room.

Jack: I suppose I'll take the floor.

Maddy: Nonsense. We are engaged, and we have a daughter. It would only be right if we both sleep in the bed. As long as we don't have sex.

Jack: I promise that won't happen until we are married and until you are ready.

Maddy: Thank you.

The two of them snuggle under the covers and fall asleep wrapped in each other's arms.
