~~~~~
Arm in arm I walked beside Madara. Senju streets were a complete opposite to the Uchiha's. Here people rushed about, despite it being so early in the morning. Their clothes were colourful, their buildings covered in flowers of all kinds. The fragrance was noticeable.
I watched them in unison set up their stores, already serving customers. Some cast glances to us, followed by quickly turning away. I looked up to Madara.
"The Senju people do not seem to like us." Our footsteps synchronised.
"Not surprising," he answered, adjusting his arm around mine.
The gates where in our sight, and just as planned many figures appeared before it. A majority of useful Uchiha civilians had travelled here to meet us, and celebrate the creation of the village, which would begin tomorrow.
"Welcome, my kin." Madara expressed loudly, lifting his free arm out towards them. The group bowed slightly in return.
"Leader, we thank you for your decision to make a united village, may the future bring us all peace," one of the older men in front walked closer to us, his head bent and hand over his heart.
"Thank you," Madara replied nodding his head in return.
"It's good to see you again Miss Tomomi," he then exclaimed, a warm smile on his lips.
I couldn't help but smile back, "why thank you." Madara spoke to the crown again.
"Welcome to the Senju village, I promise no harm will come to you, follow me I will show you where you will stay."
We then turned around, having all the Uchiha line behind us. I felt my skin crawl as we marched through like some parade, some entertainment. The stares were frightening.
In relief I took a deep breath as we finally arrived at a massive line of small buildings. They all looked rather new, perhaps Hashirama had built them. He did of course contain the wood release, so rare.
"Each house has details of who they belong to, please relax and enjoy your stay, I must go take care of some business," with that they all bowed once more and Madara and I left.
"Shouldn't we stay and talk to them about our plans?" I whispered to him.
"That can be done tomorrow," be replied, unaffected by my urgency. "I want them to become comfortable living around their once enemies."
I nodded in somewhat agreement, "I guess that won't hurt."
"Come," Madara ordered as we reached the lodge in which we were staying at.
As we glided through the building I became mesmerised by the amount of craftsmanship the wood building contained.
Such an advanced power Hashirama contains.
When we entered Madara's room a thought came to my head.
"There's something I really want to do, Madara." He stopped and looked at me slowly.
"That is?" I played with my dress nervously.
"Discover my chakra nature."
"That's it? How did we never find this out before Tomoko," he sighed, walking over to his desk.
"I forgot about it," I muttered, rubbing my head.
"Here," he turned around, and I noticed he was holding a tiny square shaped piece of paper between his fingers.
I stared at him and the paper silently, showing my expression of confusion. He rolled his eyes dramatically, walking over to me.
"Hold this," he grabbed my hand and placed the small piece of paper in it.
"Why?" I asked incredulously, lifting the paper to my eyes. There was nothing special about it.
"Channel your chakra into it as evenly as you can, it will tell us what chakra nature you have."
"How is it supposed to do that exactly?"
"Just do it please," he sighed rubbing his forehead. I turned away from his slightly, making my hair flick back.
"Only because you said please."
Hearing him chuckle lightly I stared at the paper once more. I had to focus immensely hard to feel my chakra form within my hand. It's warmth flowed through my veins, across my palm and finally to the tips of my fingers. I blinked in shock when the paper moved. A distinctive tear noise sounded.
"It ripped," I mumbled, dropping the paper in disappointment. Madara placed his hands on my shoulders as he stood towering beside me.
"So you're wind nature, congratulations." He smiled to himself as I looked to him.
"That told you I'm wind natured?" I nearly shouted, moving away and pointing to the damaged pieces.
"It ripped, therefore you're wind."
"That doesn't seem very trust worthy," I glared, the paper had ripped perfectly down the middle.
"Trust me it's accurate enough," he retorted.
"Well at least now I know what jutsu's I'm best suited to," Madara nodded in thought, rubbing his chin.
"Soon I shall teach you a very useful jutsu, but first we must join this party Hashirama won't stop yapping about."
I laughed shortly, following him as he left the room. The party he referred to was one that could be more of a festival. Since so many clan members had gathered today in the Senju village, Hashirama wanted to celebrate our uniting.
The rest of the evening would consist of wasting away within the company of each other who were once enemies. I personally felt overwhelmed by the decision. But I would still attend with Madara.
"I'll meet you there," he spoke, giving me a soft kiss on my forehead.
"If I remember," I smirked, walking away to my room.
"You better," he yelled behind me.
I smiled to myself as I came to my own room, I had to get ready. That meant finding something to wear that was considered nice enough for a festival party.
"Why didn't I bring more clothes?" I sighed to myself.
~~~~~
As if turns out, I didn't bring many nice things with me at all. The best I could do was a light blue dress, that had a black sash around the middle. My hair made up for it as it cascaded around my shoulders messily, small ribbons decorating it.
As I stood in the cool night air, people crowded all around me, their eyes and smiles lit by the fire lights and lanterns surrounding us. I had never seen this many people in one place in so long.
I felt a pain as I thought of Tomoko suddenly. She would have loved to have seen this.
"I'm so happy to have you all gathered here tonight, for this is a celebration," Hashirama's voice boomed upon the masses and he smiled widely. He stood on a podium, Madara and some other leaders next to him, looking intimidating.
"No more shall we be at war, but instead unite and live together!" Everyone roared with clapping and shouts of agreement. I found myself clapping with them as I smiled.
"To peace!" He finished, raising his cup high above his head. Everyone followed, raising whatever they had in unison.
When the speech had finished I found myself wandering trying to find a familiar face. I didn't yet feel comfortable enough to approach anyone I didn't know. Laughter and the smell of alcohol and smoke filled the air, it caused a warm buzz to fill me.
I hadn't talked to new people in so long. Perhaps I needed to get used to socialising more, after all my circle was quite small. It didn't appeal to me at the moment to make any new friends though.
I signed in relief when out of the crowd I spotted Madara's tall stature standing with Hashirama. I pushed through as gently as I could towards them, making it just in time to hear the last of their conversation.
"Tomorrow we begin building, Madara, it will be a massive project," Hashirama took a sip from his cup, closing his eyes. Madara seemed tense for some reason, his shoulders squared, he hadn't drunk much of his own drink I noticed.
"I can get the Uchiha to help build, we have many skilled people," he stopped talking when Hashirama came closer, placing a hand onto his shoulder lightly.
"That won't be necessary, I have plenty of earth users already and I will use my wood release to build houses," Hashirama answered, giving Madara a stiff pat of the back.
Madara's aura noticeably darkened. I quickly went to his side, grabbing his hand.
"Lets go for a walk, Madara," I insisted, a small smile placed onto my face as I looked to Hashirama. Madara hesitated, his gaze focused harshly on Hashirama as he went to sit in front of us.
"We'll return later," he then spoke, no comfort in his tone as he turned away and walked with me in tow. He was forming a clear path through the gathering, but nobody seemed to mind.
Once we were on the outskirts of the celebration his pace slowed.
"Don't take it to heart, Madara," I comforted, walking beside him. He chucked his cup to the side absentmindedly, I scowled.
He shook his head, a deep frown on his lips. I frowned with him, Hashirama's words had disappointed me.
"He pisses me off sometimes."
"I know." I smiled sadly, hugging his arm to my chest. He looked to the dazzling night sky as he continued, the full moon glistening over his eyes.
"The Uchiha should help build this village if we are to live in it equally." I hummed in agreement.
"That they should, Hashirama needs to rethink his decision. Maybe tomorrow he'll be more open to discussion."
He grunted in response, neither agreeing or disagreeing.
"If this becomes a regular occurrence, I will not continue to be so civil."
"I don't doubt your words," I sighed, leaning my cheek against his shoulder.
"And then he will be sorry," he finished, his voice dangerously quiet.
