Hi everyone! I'm am so sorry for such a massive wait!
Been super busy and haven't sat down and focused on writing!
I hope you enjoy this chapter and thank you all so much for coming this far on this journey <3

"I can't sense him," Madara announced, annoyed. That perked up my worry.
We stood just outside of the meeting building, not too close but far away enough from the rushing clans people who inhabited the compound. I felt at ease when they weren't near us.
If Madara couldn't sense Jiro that means he's extremely dangerous in my books. Escaping the Sharigan...just who were we dealing with?
Madara turned to me, stress on his features. "You're staying with me tonight." I nodded by head, I was more than happy to accept his order. I was more anxious than ever now from this strange event.
"When we leave tomorrow...we better watch our backs," I whispered, scanning behind and in front of us nervously. Madara held my shoulders gently as he stood behind me.
"I always watch our backs Tomomi," he stated, his chin resting on top of my head. "Inform everyone there is a spy on our midst," Madara then turned to Tobirama and ordered.
*****
"How do you think he hides himself?"
I propped my head with my arms as I laid in bed, enjoying the warmth from the fire across from me.
Madara stopped pacing in front of me, coming to a halt and leaning himself against the wall.
"He must have an ability to hide his chakra...or change his chakra signature completely." I wanted to groan in frustration.
"Why do such a thing?"
"He's a spy, as it seems with the objective to get me killed," a dangerous smirk lifted onto his lips.
"That's not something to be excited about Madara," I sighed, turning over and digging my head into my pillow. His thirst for action is something I would never inherit.
"I would like to see who's after me try to kill me," from his voice you would think he was playing an extremely entertaining game. But with death.
"They were trying to convince me to kill you Madara," I sat up restlessly, narrowing my eyes at him. He paused for a moment, holding eye contact with me silently. His eyes glinted in the light as the flames illuminated his features softly.
"You wouldn't kill me," he stated, unflinching. I tilted my head slightly, a smirk forming.
"What if I was mind controlled into killing you." As I spoke he stalked towards me, arms crossed over his chest.
"Then I would know it wasn't you trying to kill me," he stopped at the foot of the bed and sat with his back to me.
"I'm glad you'd think that then," I smiled gently, looking down at my palms.
"If you wanted to kill me you would have done it years ago," I rolled my eyes, thinking back to many memories of not so golden moments between us growing up.
"I don't disagree," I laughed, sighing and shaking my fingers through my wild hair.
"You can go to sleep if you want, I'll keep guard, and Hansuke should be nearby," I nodded in understanding, yawns were beginning to take over me.
"Try to get some sleep eventually too please, we have to travel back in the morning," I reached forward, grabbing one of his hands in my own. A tiny smile crept to his face, as mine followed.
"Your words of wisdom never cease," he uttered, turning to me as he pulled me closer. I gazed into his eyes silently as he held my chin and cheek softly.
"I don't want to disappoint," I replied quietly, glancing to his lips uncontrollably.
His glare followed my actions, flickering down my face and then coming back to my gaze slowly. My skin buzzed with enjoyment.
"Neither do I," he mumbled, letting his lips hover over mine. "How can I protect you if I'm asleep?"
I curiously stared at him, not making any moves, almost holding my breath.
"I would rather die myself than have anyone ever harm you," he whispered, his breath raising goosebumps along my arms. A teasing chill ran down my spine. I couldn't help but smirk at him, amused.
"If you died no one would require me anymore." It was a sad statement, but true nonetheless. Madara's eyes flashed in sadness as he let go of my face. He brushed my hair from my shoulder and held the side of my neck gently in his grip. My skin tingled at his touch.
"No matter what anyone else thinks, I will never see you as a pawn," his words were serious, an unhinged defiance in his gaze. I smiled sadly, closing my eyes and bringing my hand to his cheek.
"If only others agreed," I replied and pulled away as did he.
"Goodnight Tomomi," he whispered into my lips, kissing me delicately.
"Goodnight, Madara," I felt my energy depleting as I crawled under the covers and snuggled back into my pillow.
It didn't take long until I found myself groggily awakening to the sounds of yelling. It was the first thing I felt before the warmth of the blanket enveloping me.
The voice was familiar, and soon sent a shocking awakening to my body.
"Just what we needed," Madara muttered under the yelling, I turned to him as he sat next to me with wide eyes.
"What do we do?" I panicked, beginning to pull myself out of bed.
"Stop," Madara announced quickly, holding me in place. "I'll be on the roof," he smirked, leaping over me onto the floor.
"Hurry," I whispered as loud as I could, shooing him as he climbed out of the small window.
I tried to calm my nervous breathing as I slid back down into the blankets and tried to make it look as if I had just been woken up by noise. Which was partly true.
Banging on the door commenced, making me jump.
"Tomomi open this door!" I cringed, pulling myself off the bed achingly.
With a feeling of courage I opened the door, coming to face my unamused father. The scar down his face made him look hauntingly terrifying, as did his frown.
"Why are you yelling?" I asked tiredly, rubbing my eyes for effect. He barged passed me, looking around the room frantically.
"Where is he?" He then turned to me.
"Where is who?" I replied, walking over to stand in front of the burning coals of the dying fire.
Father gave me a look of ridiculousness.
"Lord Madara, your betrothed Tomomi!" I cringed at his raised voice.
"I don't know, I just woke up," I answered.
"He stayed here last night didn't he? How dare he without permission!" I felt anger beginning to raise within me.
Nows not the time Tomomi.
"Father he is not here, and was not here, now please leave so I can get ready," I swallowed my fear as I spoke. I know it was a lie to my father, but whether or not he knew Madara stayed with me did not matter. It was none of his business.
"I cannot allow such informal contact with each other." I held my hands up, coaxing him to listen to me.
"Father with all due respect, Madara is the Uchiha clans leader and nothing you say can overrule his decisions. So I suggest you stop making a fuss about all of this,"
"Tread carefully Tomomi," he muttered, leaving without another word. I frowned, feeling a sense of disappointment.
Does he think so lowly of us?
The door slammed, and I held my forehead in my palm.
Why do people even care about this stuff? I complained to myself.
"He's a ball of sunshine in the morning," Madara amusingly mumbled climbing into the room again. I groaned, sitting on the bed.
"He's going to drive me insane," I confessed.
"At least he hasn't known you as Isamu for the last 10 years of so," Madara commented flatly, cringing slightly.
"Sorry about that,"
"Sorry's not going to cut it, Tomomi," he crossed his arms standing in front of me, I huffed with a chuckle. I admired his eyes for a moment, his blazing red Sharingan staring back at me. They fit so well surrounded by his dark lashes.
"Will you forgive me if I marry you then?"
"I'll think about it," he smiled, eyes lighting up with emotion.
