Gia has a surprise for Alex....

It was mid-morning and most of the circus animals already up and just enjoying a morning of doing nothing.

A pretty female jaguar was inside one of the box cars pacing and sighing as she sat down. She looked at the stick she held and looked up at the ceiling. How was she going to tell him.

She looked to see that the stick read positive, she couldn't believe she was going to be a mom, and she was excited but worried about how Alex would take it. They had only been dating for a year and sure they were close but was he ready for a big step?

Gia wasn't sure how to approach Alex about it. She had been fighting with this for a couple days wondering how to break it to him.

''Why is this so hard? I've never had a problem telling anyone something that was going on so why is it so hard to tell Alex?'' She asked herself.

She heard a knock on the door and hid the stick behind her back and looked to see Gloria.

''Hey baby girl, everything ok?'' Asked the hippo.

Gia wanted to say yes but she had been fighting it. ''No.'' She replied.

Gloria came in and shut the box car door and went to sit over next to the jaguar who looked pale, worried, and tired.

''What's wrong honey?'' She asked patting Gia's back.

The jaguar didn't say anything and pulled out the stick and gave it to Gloria.

''Oh honey! Your pregnant? That is great! Ahh I'm so happy for you and Alex.'' She hugged Gia who half-heartedly hugged back.

''It is Alex's, right?'' Asked Gloria curiously.

''Yes, it's Alex's it's just I found out a couple days ago and I haven't told Alex yet. I'm worried about how he will react.'' She confessed.

''Why are you worried how he'll react? I think he would be over the moon happy, why are you guys fighting or something?'' Asked the hippo who was giving her attention to Gia.

''No, nothing like that. I mean we've only been together a year and well we still have the trapeze to do... I just don't know how he'll react. What if it's too soon or he just doesn't want it?'' She asked looking down.

''I highly doubt that I've known Alex since he was little. He will accept it I mean he knew what was going to happen when you guys had sex.'' She pointed out.

''I know, still.'' She looked down.

''I feel like something else is bothering you.'' Gloria noted.

''I can't fool you, it's just I didn't think me and Alex would be having cubs giving how we are different species and what if the cub turns out to be this weird looking cub.'' Gia let out how she was feeling.

''I doubt that very much, I mean Alex is a handsome lion and you're a beautiful jaguar that cub will be so cute.'' She replied.

''Your right, it's just telling him, I'm not sure how. I don't know why I'm having a hard time telling Alex I never had this hard of a time'' She sighed.

'' Because you love you him and you want the relationship to work that says a lot. And he should be back this evening, he and Marty went out for the day. Just take him some place special or away from here and tell him. Don't worry you got all of us here for you and Alex.'' Gloria smiles.

''Thanks Gloria.'' Gia smiles.

Later that evening Gia was sitting outside by the firepit looking at the dark sky when she heard Marty's voice, and she looked up to see Marty and Alex walking back laughing and stumbling a bit.

She sighed and smiled at them.

Alex and Marty made it back to the box cars and Marty nudged Alex. ''Say that's Gia.'' 

''Oh, what's she doing out here so late?'' Wondered Alex.

''Well, I'm going to my room see ya tomorrow.'' Marty replied as he left.

Alex went over to Gia and there was something about her that got to him.

''Hey there, my beautiful jaguar.'' He went over and got on his knees facing her and holding her paws.

''Hey Alex, how was your day out?'' She asked.

''It was alright, I missed you.'' He kisses her.

She kisses back and leans forward as they melted in the kiss, and she pulled away.

He noticed she looked down. ''Are you ok?''

''Alex there's something I have to tell you...'' She gulped.

He looked at her and held her paw. ''Yes.''

She took his paw and placed it on her stomach. ''I-I'm having a cub.''

Alex was quiet for a moment and Gia was worried, his eyes widened, and she was a bit nervous.

The lion stood up and walked a couple paces away from her and then looked up.

''Alex?'' She asked quietly.

''I-I'M GONNA BE A DAD!'' He shouted.

He ran around jumping up and down excitedly and he went over and lifted Gia up hugging her and spinning around laughing.

Gia smiles and wraps her arms around his shoulders, and he ran around and opened the main box car where all the animals were watching tv.

''GUYS ME AND GAI ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!!!'' Alex shouted excitedly as he placed Gia down and she laughs enjoying the way he took it.

''So, your happy?'' She asked.

''Happy? Happy doesn't even cover it! I'm over the moon! I'm a king with my beautiful queen and we are going to be parents! It was my dream when I met you that I wanted us to have cubs sometime down the line.'' He replied hugging her.

The others came out and congratulated them.

''Well, I should beat you up for knocking up my sweet Gia, but giving how happy you two are I'm pleased, and can't wait to babysit.'' Vitaly replied smiling and hugging both of them.

''I don't blame you if you did but I'm way too happy to care.'' Alex replied.

It was a fun exciting night that would not be soon forgotten.
