Rescue
(Y/n) and Alex walk into the zebra territory and Alex calls for Marty. "Marty?" Alex asked. "Hey! Marty! Marty? Marty." One zebra saw Alex's fruit hat. "Where did you get such a fruity hat?" He asked. (Y/n) rolled her eyes. Alex gets all the zebras attention. "Excuse me! Excuse me! Hi. Is Marty in there?" All the zebras call out to Marty. "Anyone seen Marty?" Ben asked. "Which one of us is Marty?" Cameron asked. "All right. Well, if you see him, tell him that his friend Alex is sorry about what he said before, and that he and (Y/n) came to say goodbye." Marty is in the crowd hiding from Alex, but perked when he heard (Y/n)'s name. "Goodbye? Don't go? Where are you going? Can we come?" Neville asked. "No, no. This is something we have to do alone." Alex said. "You can't leave the reserve!" Marvin said. Alex takes a long look at the area that was off the reserve. With determination, he and (Y/n) step over the border. The zebras panic. "What are you doing?" Kevin asked. "They'll get your hat." Ben said. "Hunters are everywhere!" Anthony said. "Could you leave the hat?" "Marty! Look, I know you're in there. And before I go, I got something I want to say. You've been a great friend. You've helped me so often to see the bright side of my problems that I never think of you having any." Marty listens to the whole thing.
"I wasn't there for you when you needed me. Just like back at the zoo. What kind of friend does that make me? A pretty lousy friend, I guess. Well, I just want you to know that I... You're one in a million." Alex said. "This is touching." Murray cried. "It is touching." Marvin cried. Through the crowd, Alex was able to see Marty. "So could you please turn around so I can tell you that to your face?" He asked. "That's right. Gotcha! I see you in there! Yeah, yeah, you. That's right. You, right there." The zebras split to reveal Marty. "Twelfth row, two hundred and third from the left. That's you, Marty. I know it's you." Marty walks over the border and up to Alex. "You know what makes you special? These guys.
They're white with black stripes. You're black with white stripes. You're a dreamer, Marty. Always have been. You have great taste in music and horrible taste in friends." Alex said. "Hey!" (Y/n) said. "Well, not Melman, (Y/n) or Gloria, but me." Alex said. Marty turned to see you then smiled. "(Y/N)!" He tackled her into a hug. She chuckled and hugged him back. "I was so worried about you." Marty said. "Well, I'm fine. For now." She smiled. He smiled too, but a bit warily from that last part. "OK, I'm in." Marty said. "No, Marty, you can't come with us." Alex said. "I don't believe either of you have a choice." As (Y/n), Alex and Marty walk away, the zebras call them back, warning you about the hunters. "People are out there!" Marvin shouted. "You're crazy! Come back!" Ronnie said. "The people will get you!" Ben said. "Don't lose the hat!" Zorro said. "Bye, hat!" John said.
Gloria calls out to Moto-Moto as he cames out from a deep hole he dug. "Any water?" Moto-Moto comes up with a plate of diamonds and gold. "No, just more diamonds and gold." Gloria throws the diamonds and gold onto the pile. Everyone groans in disappointment. "Ok, don't give up hope." Gloria said. "Listen up! I will help you!" Everyone turns to see King Julien riding on top of an elephant. "There's only one way to get your precious water. I, your beloved King Julien, must simply make a small sacrifice to my good friends, the water gods, in the volcano!" King Julien points at the volcano, accidentally throwing away his staff. "What does that do?" Ivan asked. "What does that do? Excellent question. My sacrifice goes in the volcano. Then the friendly gods eat up my sacrifice. Mm, very nice. Thank you for the sacrifice." "Here, have another sacrifice."
"No, I've had enough for today." "Listen, I'm gonna be very insulted unless you have another." "I don't want another sacrifice, ok!" "Look at you! You look skinny!" "No! I think I've had enough, is that clear?!" Everyone looks at him in pure confusion, but King Julien composes himself. "The gods eat the sacrifice. They are grateful. They give me some of their water, and then I give it to you." He said. "What?" Gloria asked in disbelief. "Does it work?" Joise asked. "No! I mean, yes. Well, Maurice?" King Julien asked. "Ah, it's fifty-fifty." He said. Everyone cheers. "We'll do it!" Everyone said. "Excellent!" He snaps his fingers and catches his staff.
"Now all I need is someone who would like to go into the volcano and get eaten by gods. Any hands! Hands, anybody!" Everyone goes silent. "OK. I need someone, perhaps who has never found love, who could look death straight in the eyeball." Moto-Moto hides behind Gloria and mimics her movements. "A real, genuine hero." King Julien said. "I'll do it." Melman said. Everyone gasps. "Melman?" Gloria asked in shock. Everyone cheers for Melman. They pick him up and run towards the volcano. "Hurry up! Before we all come to our senses!" King Julien said. Gloria runs to Melman. "Melman, what is wrong with you?" She asked. "I'm dying anyway. If there's a chance it will get you water, it'll be worth it." Melman said.
"Are you nuts?" Gloria asked. "Gloria, I just want you to know, back at the zoo, it was never the doctors or prescriptions that kept me going. It was always you. Seeing you every day. That's what kept me going." Melman said. Gloria slows down and watches Melman be carried away. "Melman! Wait!" Gloria tries to catch up. "Melman! Melman! Melman!" Everyone chanted. Meanwhile Florrie walks up to Zuba as he sits on a rock mopping. "You going to mope like this all day?" Florrie asked. "Hmph." He replied. "Don't "hmph" me. Listen, Zuba. A miracle happened. Our son has come back to us. And our guardian. How come that is not good enough for you?" Florrie asked. "What are you saying, woman?" He asked. "We lost them once, Zuba. Let's not lose them again." Florrie said. Makunga watches from behind and pretends to pant and run up to Zuba and Florrie looking tired. "Zuba! Zuba!" He said.
"Get out of here!" Zuba yelled. "What do you want, Makunga?" Florrie demanded. "It's awful. The watering hole is dried up." Makunga said. "Dried up? That's impossible!" Zuba said. "There's nothing left!" Makunga said. "Well, you're the alpha lion, Makunga. What are you gonna do about it?" Zuba asked. "Your son, Alakay, he said he could fix it. He's gone upriver, and (Y/n) went with him." He said. "Off the reserve?!" Zuba asked. "No!" Florrie yelled. "I tried to stop them. I told them it was suicide. But Alex was determined to prove himself to you. And my girlfriend was determined to help him." He said. "You stay here, in case they come back!" Zuba makes a run for (Y/n) and Alex. "Hurry, Zuba!" Makunga snickers, but covers it with coughing. "I'm so parched." Florrie watches as Zuba runs off to save their son and friend while Makunga watches with a smirk. Meanwhile (Y/n), Marty and Alex walk into the jungle trying to find the clog. Alex hides from tree to tree, making sure no hunters are around. "Is this place starting to freak you out?" Marty asked. "We'll slip in, find the problem. Hunters will never know we were here." Alex said.
"Why are we doing this?" Marty asked. "Look, Marty. Maybe my dad will think I'm... I just want to show him I'm a real lion." Alex said. "As opposed to a chocolate lion." Marty said, making (Y/n) snicker. "And I'm doing this because it's my duty as the guardian to help the animals." (Y/n) said. Marty looked a bit confused. "Guardian?" He asked. "Long story." (Y/n) said. "Tell me later." Marty said, "Shh. I know this may sound hard to believe, but apparently, lions don't dance." Alex said. "What?!" Marty asked. "Shh. At least as far as my dad is concerned." Alex said. "As far as people are concerned, you and (Y/n) are a huge hit." Marty said. "That was New York. This is Africa, it's a much tougher crowd. Marty! (Y/n), this is it!" Alex said. "Shh." Marty said. Alex sees a large dam blocking the water. "This is the clog!" Alex said. "Shush, shush, shush, shush!" Marty said. "Come on!" Alex whispered. "Whoa." The trio climb up the dam and see the water. "Well, there's the water." Marty said. Alex looks around and is terrified. (Y/n) pushes Marty down before he can get a lick. "Marty, stay down. Look at that." She said.
(Y/n), Alex and Marty see that it was a small village of people led by Nana teaching a small group how to knit. "Knit one, purl two." Nana said. "It's her." Alex said. (Y/n) growled when she recognized the old lady. "Oh great, it's the crazy lady." She said. Greg and another were doing fine in their knitting, but David was tangled in his yarn. "Is this right?" Greg asked. "Very good." Nana said. "Nana, slow down." David said. "You're a little tangled, aren't you? No, don't pull. I'll do it." Nana said. (Y/n), Alex and Marty climb down the dam. "We need dynamite. Do you have any dynamite?" Alex asked. "Oh, snap! I just used my last stick this morning!" A spear gets thrown through Alex's hat. The trio look up to see people giving out a war cry. "Savages!" Marty said.
"Evasive maneuvers!" Alex drops the hat and the trio make a run for it, dodging the spears. "Serpentine, serpentine!" Marty said. "Squiggly squid maneuver!" Alex said. "Zag, zig-zag, zig ziggy zag!" Marty said. "No, no! No! Squiggly squid!" (Y/n) said. "Etch A Sketch!" Marty said. "That's too complex! Octopus, octopus!" (Y/n) and Alex get snagged by a trap and hang on a tree. "Alex! (Y/n)!" Marty said. "Run, Marty!" (Y/n) yelled. "Come on, I can't leave you two here!" Marty said. Marty sees the hunters running towards them with spears in hand. "Go get help! Squiggly squid maneuver! Go! Go! Squiggly squid!" Alex said. Marty runs away and dodges the spears. "Etch A Sketch! Etch A Sketch!" (Y/n) and Alex see the hunters surrounding you two with their spears. The animals were having a ceremony inside the volcano as Melman walks to the edge of the cliff wearing a veil made out of shells and his neck adorned with flowers.
CHOIR: (O.S.) Save us!
We love you!
Melman looks down at the lava. "OK. OK, OK, OK." Melman said. A small stone falls into the lava, causing a large splash to reach Melman. Melman yelps.
CHORUS: Save us!
Melman!
We love you!
Melman!
Save us!
"OK, here we go. OK, OK." Melman said.
The animals were painted from head to toe, dancing and chanting.
CHORUS: Save us!
Melman!
We love you!
Melman!
Save us!
"Here we go! Here we go!" Melman said. A giraffe wearing witch doctor garb walks up to the other giraffes. "What's all the hoopla about?" Joe asked. "Joe?" Murray asked. "Joe the Witch Doctor?" Larry asked. "We thought you were dead!" Larry said. "So did I. Then I realized I'm covered in brown spots." He said. "So Melman's not dying!" Larry said. "Oh, no!" Ben said. Gloria runs through the crowd and tries to get to Melman. "Melman! Move! Don't do this! Julien, stop this! This is crazy!" Gloria said. "Oh, suddenly throwing a giraffe into a volcano to make water is crazy!" He said. "Yes!" Gloria said. She swings on an elephant's trunk, lands on the other side, and runs down the steps. "Please, Melman! Stop!" She yelled. "Gloria?" He asked.
"You can't do this!" She said. "Why not?" Melman asked. "Because... Oh!" Gloria trips, causing a large crack to go into the middle of the cliff. Melman yelps and trembles as he starts to fall into the lava, but he tries to run back to Gloria. Seeing as there is no more cliff to stand on, Melman starts to fall into the lava, but Gloria grabs his horn, dangling him over the volcano. "Aww..." the crowed said. "You can't do this, Melman." She said. "First of all, that hurts. Second of all, I've only got 18 hours to live, anyway." Melman said. "Melman, I gotta know, did you really mean all those things you said about me?" Gloria asked. "Of course I did." Melman said.
"That's crazy." She said. "It is?" Melman asked. Gloria pulls him up and catches him in her arms. "It's crazy to think I had to go halfway around the world, to find out the perfect guy for me lived right next door." Gloria said. "Then I guess it's you and me, neighbor. You and me for the next 18 hours." Melman said. "I'll take whatever you got." Gloria and Melman put their heads together, forming a heart. Everyone awed at the sight. Except for King Julien. "Maurice, what has happened?" He asked. "I believe the fat lady has sung." Maurice said. Marty runs up to the two. "Hey, what's going on here?" He asked. "Marty!" Gloria said. "Hey! Hey! Listen up! Alex and (Y/n) are in big trouble! We got to go to the upriver fast!" Marty said. "What about the plane?" Melman asked.
"Perfect! Come on!" Marty said. A riot was going on with the monkeys as Mason and Phil were negotiating union terms with Skipper and Kowalski. "Maternity leave?" Skipper looks under the table. "You're all males." He said. "Look. We need that plane for a rescue mission." Marty urged. "Well, there's nothing I can do until we bust up this union." Skipper said. Gloria slams her fist. "I'm gonna get to busting up all of you if you don't get this plane going." She said. "Can't you see these commies have my hands tied here? No maternity leave." Skipper said. Mason nudges Phil, bringing out a file. "Maybe a certain someone wouldn't want these blowing around on the savanna." Manson said. Phil brought out pictures of Skipper partying and kissing the hula girl bobblehead. Skipper looked scandalized while Marty, Kowalski, Gloria, and Melman pretend not to feel awkward. "All right. You get your maternity leave." Skipper said. A whistle blows and the monkeys get back to work.

The hunters had (Y/n) and Alex tied up to a stick and carried them to an unlit fire pit. "Where we headed? What's going on? Where are we going?" Alex sees a rotisserie set up. "Oh, no! Please! You're not gonna put us there! No! No, no! This is wrong." The hunters mounted (Y/n) and Alex on a rotisserie as Nana looked at the crowd with pride. "You see? You are survivors." Nana said. Everyone cheers. "Now, how about a nice lion casserole?" She asked. "You can't eat a lion." Brad said. "Don't worry, it tastes like chicken." Nana said. Nana throws her torch into the rotisserie, igniting a fire over (Y/n) and Alex. "No, no, no, no, no. Don't listen to her. She's out of her mind, people!" (Y/n) said. As they turn them, Alex sees one of them wearing a New York T-shirt. "Hey! Hey! We're from New York City, too! It's us, Alex the lion! And (Y/n) the lioness! From Central Park!" Alex said. (Y/n) tries to blow out the fire, but that only made it stronger. Everyone hears a lion's roar. It was Zuba. "Dad!" Alex said. Zuba runs out of the bushes and jumps over to (Y/n) and Alex are tied up and frees the two.
"What were you two thinking?" He asked. "You got no business being out here!" The hunters had them surrounded. "This is it. I want you both to stay behind me." Zuba said. "No, Zuba, they're New Yorkers. They're just rude and frightened people." (Y/n) said. "Stay back!" Zuba yelled. "You're gonna let your dinner get away?" Nana asked. Brad readies his rifle and aims it at Zuba. Before Brad can pull the trigger, (Y/n) gets in front of Zuba and pretends to go from happy to sad using her hand. "What are you doing?" Zuba asked. "(Y/n)?" Alex asked. "The only thing I know how to do. Join me, Alex." (Y/n) said. "What the heck?" Allen asked. As Greg was recording, he was able to recognize those dance moves. "Hey, I know those moves. (Y/n)?" Greg asked.
(Y/n) and Alex do a flip. "It's Alex the lion! And (Y/n) The Lioness!" Gwen said. "From Central Park!" (Y/n) and Alex dance on their hands. "It is Alex and (Y/n)!" Sam said. "Only two lions can move like that!" Zuba watches in confusion as everyone cheers for the duo as they do the worm. "They're beautiful." Brad said. "I can't believe it." Zuba said. (Y/n) and Alex do some flips and go into slow-motion. "How do they do that?" David asked. It turns out to be (Y/n) and Alex using their legs to do a slow-motion trick. (Y/n) and Alex jump in front of the fire, and move their wrists and hips around, dancing. Zuba looks on in amazement and mimics both of their dance moves. "Dad, what are you doing?" Alex asked. "I'm dancing with my son! I think." Zuba said.
"Don't think, Zuba. Feel!" (Y/n) spins around, waving her arms. "Butterfly!" Her feet move gracefully. "I'm feeling it! I'm feeling it!" Zuba's feet move less gracefully. With enough speed, (Y/n), Alex and Zuba jump into the air. (Y/n) and Alex land with a pose, but Zuba lands on his face. (Y/n) and Alex do their famous pose. "Roar!" The trio said, Everyone drops their weapons and cheer. Even Brad drops his gun and applauds. (Y/n), Alex and Zuba bow. "That was beautiful. Now let's eat!" Nana picks up the gun and aims it at the three. "Guys, look out!" (Y/n) shouted. Nana pulls the trigger, fires, and falls from the force. A steel basket drops in front of (Y/n), Alex and Zuba which deflects the bullet. "What the..." they look up and see a monkey chain holding up the basket connecting to the plane which was now fixed with flapping wings and lights "Alex! (Y/n)! Get in!" Marty said.
(Y/n), Alex and Zuba climb into the basket as the plane flies away. "She's got a gun! Let's get out while we can!" (Y/n) said. "What?" Marty asked. "She's got a gun! Let's get out while we can! Pass it on!" Alex said to Manson. The monkey chain passes the message on to one another until it gets to Mason. "He said let's have some fun and take out the dam. Basset hound." Manson said. "Skipper! Alex wants to take out the dam." Marty said. "All right! But it's his funeral." Skipper said. "What?" Marty asked. "Hard to port!" Skipper said. Gloria turns the plane around. "Aye-aye, Skippy!" She said. "Bring it on! Bring it on!" Melman said. The plane flew over the dam Nana was walking on. "Come back! That's my dinner!" Nana yelled. "Kowalski, full throttle." Skipper said. Kowalski pushes a lever, letting bananas hang over the monkeys manning the plane for it to go faster.
"Music!" Skipper said. Private puts on Barry Manilow: Copacabana At the Copa. "I like this song." Private said. "It never gets old." Kowalski said. "It does have a catchy hook." Skipper agreed. "Come about! Bring her in low!" Skipper said. Rico turns the plane hard. "Hold onto your skirts! It's dam-busting time!" Skipper said. "Hold on tight, baby! Here we go!" Gloria said. Alex sees that they were headed to the dam. "Tell them no! Pull up! They'll kill us! There's got to be another way! Pass it on!" (Y/n) said. The monkeys send the message to Mason. "They say no pull up. Kill us. There's no other way. Basset around." He said. "Are you sure?" Marty asked in disbelief. "Men, there is no sacrifice greater than someone else's." A gun fires, taking out hula girl's head. "No! Medic!" Skipper yelled. Rico pulls out duct tape. Nana clicks the gun, but it was out, so she tosses it into the water and swings her purse.
"Ramming speed!" Skipper said. The monkeys speed up. The basket bumps a hill and flies over to the dam. "Bring it on!" Nana said. Everyone screams as they got closer. "Bad kitties." The basket crashes into the dam, detaching from the chain. With the dam down, the water comes out. King Julien and Maurice were the only ones left in the volcano. "I don't know why the sacrifice didn't work. The science seemed so solid." King Julien said. "I'd jump right in that volcano if I wasn't so good at whistling." He blows raspberries. King Julien stops as he heard someone singing. It was Mort tired and limping.
As soon as he saw King Julien, he lit up. "It's you! I found you!" Mort said. "Mort?" King Julien asked in shock. Mort laughs until the shark jumped behind him again, making him scream and run away. "Bad fishy!" Mort said. King Julien and Maurice scream as they all fell over the cliff. The shark falls into the lava, but Maurice, King Julien, and Mort were hanging on the cliff. They watch as the shark falls into the lava. Mort laughs. "I wonder if the gods like seafood." Maurice said. "Let's go find out." King Julien said. They climb up and see water flow back into the watering hole. "Look, Maurice." King Julien said.
"That was quick." Maurice said. "I did it! I did it! I did it!" King Julien said. A large splash came behind King Julien. "OK, you did it!" He said. "Oh, yes." Mort said. The animals in the watering hole were so thirsty that they licked the ground. A buffalo hears rumbling and everyone gets up to see a large stream of water come towards them. The lone fish jump happily as the water fills the watering hole. "Look!" Zamora said. Everyone sees (Y/n), Alex and Zuba floating on top of the steel basket. Everyone celebrates. "It's Alakay and (Y/n)!" Ben said. "It's Zuba!" Ned said. Florrie runs into the crowd and sees (Y/n), Zuba and Alex. "Zuba! Alakay! (Y/n)! You're back!" She hugs them.
"I'm so glad you're safe!" She said. The celebration was short-lived as Makunga forces his way to the front until he got to (Y/n), Alex and his family. "Out of my way. Well, well, well. You know, Zuba, if I remember correctly, you quit the pride. And you were kicked out. So don't think for an instant that this changes anything. And (Y/n) is still mine." He growled. "You're right. In fact, we humbly present you with this token of appreciation." Alex gives Makunga with Nana's purse. "It's a man bag. Very popular where I'm from." He said. "I don't know what to say." Makunga said. "You can still be tough and carry your stuff." Alex said. "Does the strap adjust? Yes, I think this will go very nicely for me when I go out hiking. But I'm afraid you're still banished." Makunga said. "We'd figured you'd say that." Alex said. Zuba tips the basket over, dropping Nana to the ground. She sees Makunga wearing her purse.
"My handbag! You bad kitty!" Nana kicks Makunga in the groin. Nana steps on his foot, hits his paw with a ruler, gives him a Wet Willy, and Indian Burns. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Nana slaps his butt with her red hot hand and pulls on his ear away from the crowd. (Y/n) laughed at the scene. As Makunga is being pulled away, Zuba picks up the staff and gives it to Alex. "You deserve this, son. Welcome to the pride." Zuba said. "Thanks, Dad. But this belongs to you." Alex said. "No, no, son. To us!" Zuba and Alex hold the staff up together. Everyone cheers. "My son! The King of New York!" Zuba said. "Whoo-hoo! "That's my baby!" Florrie said. (Y/n), Alex, Gloria, Melman, and Marty were at a private wedding ceremony being officiated by Zuba and Florrie. "Love transcends all differences. We are gathered here today to celebrate such a love. Do you take each other, for better or for worse?" Everyone looks down to see that it was Skipper and hula girl's wedding. Mason bobs the head for yes.
"For better, please." Skipper said. "Yay!" Marty said, and (Y/n) giggles. Everyone cheers and throws flowers. "What a beautiful, weird couple!" Alex said. (Y/n) laughs. "That's not going to last." Melman said. The penguins high five. "Can I kiss the bride, Skipper?" Private asked. Skipper slaps Private. "No! Music!" Private puts on more than a Feeling. "Struts." Skipper said. Kowalski turn on the lights of the plane. "Check." He said. "Flaps!" Skipper said. "Check." Kowalski said. "Diamonds and gold." Skipper said. Mason and Phil inspect the large pile of diamonds and gold. "Check." Kowalski said.
The propellers of the plane start to move and the wings flap. "Bye-bye!" Florrie said. "Gonna miss you!" Zuba said. "See you later!" (Y/n) said. The plane flies off. "We'll be back after the honeymoon in Monte Carlo, or whenever the gold runs out." Skipper said. "Take care of yourself!" Zuba said. "Come back soon!" Florrie said. "Hey, you know, Mom, let them take their time. New York isn't going anywhere, right, guys?" Alex asked. "Yeah! You're right about that! Hey!" Marty said. "Well, as long as I'm with her...
and you two, I don't care where we are." Melman said. Gloria laughs and snorts. "She has the most amazing laugh." Melman said. (Y/n), Alex and Marty just gave an uncomfortable smile. "Love has no boundaries!" Marty said. "You can say that again." (Y/n) said. "Well, looks like you're stuck with us for a while." Alex said. Zuba gives Alex a stern look. "Dad? What's wrong? I just thought we could hang out a bit and..." Zuba moves his hand up to turn his frown into a smile. He moves his hand up and down to change his expression and laughs. "You got me!" "I got you, son!" Zuba said. "You got me with her thing. You brought it back around on me. I love it." They dance and high five. "I got you, son!" Zuba said. "The old man's not too bad, eh, Marty?" Alex asked. "Marty? Who's Marty?" Marty asked. "Uh, you are." (Y/n) said. "Come on." Alex said. "I don't know no Marty.
Don't call me Marty." Marty said. "You can't fool me." Alex said. "Or me." (Y/n) said. "I don't see no Marty. Ain't no Marty here." Marty said. "Marty! I can look into your eyes, and I know it's you." Alex said. "Ooh, sounds like true love over here." (Y/n) joked. "(Y/n), shut it." Alex said playfully. "I don't know about us, but I think you and Alex will be the next couple." Marty said. (Y/n) laughed until she actually processed what he just said. "What?" King Julien and Maurice come in on their flamingoes. "Hey! Shake the hot things!" He said. "Whoo!" They all said. "Hey! Shake the hot things!" He said. "Whoo!" They said again. "Shake 'em! Shake 'em! Shake 'em! Shake 'em!"
