TAKING IN A TIMID BREATHE, I WALKED TO MY NEXT PATIENT, THE SILENCE OF THE DARK HALLWAY NOT HELPING MY ANXIETY IN ANYWAY. I noticed that the further I went, the lights on the doors seemed to dim and the hall seemed to stretch farther and farther away from me.

It reminded me of a clichè horror movie, a survivor gets stuck in an endless stretch of hallways, unable to escape.

I let out a chuckle, arriving at my next patient. For some reason, the door had dark patches everywhere. I touched one of them to feel it flaking off and extremely brittle. I raised an eyebrow. Was this burnt?

Shaking my head, I dismissed the thought as I leaned against it carefully, trying not to dirty my white lab coat. I gently slipped Kurogiri's folder to the bottom and came face to face with a pair of ice cold blue eyes. Humming, I turned the file cover over, holding it closer so I could read the text.

'Dabi'

Age: 22

Previous admittance date: 28th May, 2011

New admittance date: 13th April, 2018

Reason/s: Ran away from father, stating that he was 'an abusive pig' and 'a nightmare'. Patient burned down an apartment complex, quoting 'I just felt like it'. Patient has a record of lighting fires, placing himself and many others at risk.

Illness/es: Pyromania.
-Pyromania is characterized by the fascination with fire that results in acts of fire-starting that endangers the self and others.

Warning: Do not let patient around fire.

I nodded slowly, closing the file carefully. That explained why the door was burnt, the 'how' question strolled repeated in my mind however. I tucked it under my arm and placed a hand on the door knob, the cold metal meeting my otherwise warm skin. Turning it, I opened the door, the burnt wood making a creak as it opened. I closed it as I looked at the dark room.

The atmosphere was much more different then Kurogiri's room, and darker too. I took a few step forwards, my hand now on the glass. I could barely see anything.

"Boo." I jumped when a figure burst into my view, directly in front of me, but on the other side of the wall. I jumped, my eyes widening for a brief second. I gave a shaky deep exhale, staring st the figure with a smile.

"Jeez, nice going, you scared me." I chuckle, rubbing the back of my neck. I took his short lived shock to inspect him. His ocean blue eyes were prominent, as was his dark, spiky hair. What confused me was the fact the skin under his eyes and from his chin to his throat was burned, and then clipped back to his skin. He raised an eyebrow before letting out a low chuckle.

"I was hoping for a bigger scare. You don't exactly get scared easily, do you girly?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "What a bore." He sighed. I gave a shrug.

"Sorry pal, I've worked with too many weirdos to be startled badly." I reply honestly, giving a small grin. I shook my head, allowing my hand to rest by my side. "Anyways, I'm Y/N L/N, your new doctor. Nice to meet you..?" I let the sentance drift off, hoping for him to cut it with his name. An amused smirk crossed his face.

"I'm going by Dabi right now." He replied simply, adding a shrug. I surveyed the room behind him, which certainly wasn't exactly pretty. There was the outline of a bed in the corner, as well as a drawer with the shelves removed and smashed all over the ground. What caught my eye was the fact that the edge of his bed was a grotesque black, the corner being burnt and rotting.

"How did you manage to burn most of your room..?" I whisper almost to myself. He caught my gaze and gave a smirk.

"The guards here aren't exactly smart, doc. It's pretty disappointing, honestly." He critiqued, giving a sigh. He placed his hand on the glass and leaned closer, studying me. "Why are you even here? You can't help the completely insane, so why even bother?" His laid back expression halted as his cobalt blue eyes narrowed and glared at me. I looked to him and frowned.

"While I may not look like much, I'm going to give my all in helping you. Whether you like it or not." I took a step forwards, my breathe outlining itself on the glass, fogging it. "Its not just my job to give a damn, I do it because I want to." I press firmly, returning his narrowed gaze. He huffed a laugh before leaning back and giving a small grin.

"Consider me surprised. That confidence will last no longer then a few days, doc. But, you've got fire, and I admire that." He hums a chuckle, arms crossed over his chest. I stepped back and made my scowl turn into a smug smile.

"Thanks, I try. And we'll see about that confidence, Dabi." He gave a slow nod at my statement, soaking in the short sentance.

"So," he gave a heavy sigh, "you know pretty much everything about me, right?" He asks, a little disappointed. I gave a shrug.

"Well, just the overall vibe you have. It's more rewarding hearing it first hand, rather then just reading it." I reply simply, giving a bored expression. He let out a low chuckle.

"Alright then, I'll bite. If you can last two days in this hellhole without loosing your mind, I'll tell you a little bit about myself." He smirks, leveling his gaze with me. I slowly nodded, a hand on my hip.

"And in return?" He gives a smile.

"You tell me a little bit about yourself, doc." He jabs a finger to the glass, directed at me. I gave a nod.

"Sounds good. Deal." I was about to say something else, but I closed my mouth. He stared  at me curiously before letting out a chuckle.

"Cat got your tongue, doc?" He sassed, his tone condescending. I pressed my lips together, holding his gaze.

"I was wondering, what's happened to your skin? It doesn't look very healthy." I remark, stepping closer to try and study his marks.

"Ah, ah, ah." He held up a finger and wagged it from side to side, a smug smirk on his lips. "That can be answered later. Y'know, a deals a deal after all." He tutted, his spiky black hair swishing from side to side as he shook his head. I gave a groan, rolling my eyes with a small smile.

"Fine, all the more reason to prove you wrong." I sassed back. I felt a sudden buzzing in my pocket, making me instantly reach down to pull out my phone. Turning off the alarm, I slipped it back into my pocket, holding the files under my arm a little tighter.

"You got to get going?" He asked, a knowing look on his face. I gave a nod.

"Yeah, about that time." I smirk, turning around and walking towards the exit. I glanced back and gave a small wave, one hand on the door knob. "It was nice meeting you, Dabi. I'll be seeing you later." I smile, walking out of the room. Before I closed the door, I heard a voice.

"Yeah, you too doc."
