We're about to make this chapter our bitch.
++NOT EDITED I SWEAR I'M SORRY+
Isaac growled and chucked a head towards us, shattering the glass. People tripped over shards and screamed. Some bust past us and tried to run for the doors. Grim's fog drifted through the air, climbing up glass windows and doors, concealing us from the outside world. No one was getting in until everyone got out.
And we weren't going anywhere.
Grim dropped the dead angel and removed his scythe that appeared in his hand. "You do understand how much I want to kill this bastard right."
"I do, my little tulip. I really do."
Isaac grabbed onto the legs of a man and then his arms, slowly stretching the poor guy in front of us.
"I would say the sad part of this is that we need to let him eat," my ex said. "But we don't have hearts." He paused and glanced down at me. "Well, I know I don't. I don't know about you."
"I've told you a thousand times. I'm allergic to emotions. They clog these things called fucks that I'm supposed to give. Heard of them?" I brightly smiled.
"Just don't let him each too much," Grim grumbled with an eye roll. But I saw that twitch of a smile and did so. "He just needs to consume enough to satisfy the part where he control. After that, it'll be up to Isaac to allow the demons to control him or not."
Isaac tore the man apart, the floppy body pieces held up by red hands.
"What a plan, tulip," I cooed.
"You're despicable."
I laughed, giving him a wink before sticking a sword into the passing woman. Her gasp flew through one ear and out the other. Then as if Grim and I had telepathic powers, exchanged knowing glances. Why wait for Isaac to eat when we could feed him ourselves?
Grim whistled, catching Isaac's attention. The monster dropped a half-eaten torso and that was the last I saw of them as they disappeared behind the slot machines.
I scooped another human, stabbing through his back with the same sword. Soon, a line of humans were across my sword, their limbs still twitching. "This is taking a pupil kabob into a whole new level," I grimly said and wiggled my sword. Arms flapped up and down. Some gagging and screams. Still alive. Wonderful.
"Dinner is served, boys!" I sang. That was when Grim came running from around the corner, Isaac chasing him like a maniac. "Raw human BBQ on a stick!" I called out and tossed it up. Isaac's nose twitched and with a whiff of human blood, he bounced and caught the sword with a string of humans in the blade. Blood splashed across my face and I covered my eyes with my hand, catching glimpses of Isaac's fangs rip at the human rubber. It was both satisfying and messed up. Exactly how I liked it.
And no, it didn't turn me on. God, I wasn't a sexy bastard or something. Wasn't that sick.
I then spoke in this real sincere, Abraham Lincoln voice that made me seem like a good girl. A good girl. God that killed me.
"Isaac..." His eyes snapped up from the flesh. "Isaac." I watched his veins shrink, the battle of colours within his eyes. Black, blue, green, black again. "Fight it, baby." I put my hand on his, drops of blood trickling down my hand. He flinched. I held his gaze, feeling his frustration, applying my calmness. "Fight it," I whispered.
His body twitched and slowly, his arms shrunk, body going back to its normal size.
I cupped his pale cheeks, the redness hot under my fingers. He put his hand over mine, pressing my hand closer to his cheek. He held my gaze, and I stroked a thumb under his eye.
Grim then kicked an eight ball beside him and muttered, not intending for Isaac to listen, "Why can't you ever calm your shit?"
Okay. Here was some Hell's Personal Purge and Demon 101.
Never mutter anything because all dark creatures have supersonic hearing.
Isaac lifted his attention. "What?"
Grim toe punted an arm, it flying across a table. "Oh, so now the anger management traits are finally appearing."
Isaac set me aside. "What did you say?"
"C'mon, I don't mean to insult you."
Demons were terrific liars.
Grim continued, "All newborn demons can't control it. Alice still can't control hers. I mean look at her, she's always a mess."
I was going to blow him a kiss but instead of love blowing his way, Isaac's fist slammed into his jaw. Grim flew across the room, knocking into a slot machine and skidding through a trail of glass.
"Hey! Hey!" I started, and smacked Isaac in the shoulder. "What the fuck was that for?!"
Isaac shrugged. "Anger management."
Before I could slap him stupid, he disappeared under Grim's arms and the two bowled into a pool table. It cracked in half, Grim slamming on top of him.
Groans came from under their tangled limbs, and I screamed in frustration. Catching Isaac whip a fist on the side of Grim's jaw, I was seriously done with these bitches.
The two still wrestling on the floor, I grabbed one of the swords I brought and aimed directly for the chandler above them. Throwing my arm back, I threw it hard and it sliced through the air, splitting the golden chain.
The chandelier dropped, completely flattening both of them. A cloud of dust erupted and I walked over, waving my hand to clear the path. "I swear you guys drive me insane..."
Groans and smacks of skin were faintly ahead and I coughed, squinting through the cloud.
I heard, "You're such a slut!"
"You're a pussy!"
"Why don't you go screw Lord Death?!"
"Why don't you screw his wife?!"
"I bet you already did!"
There they were, still throwing punches, the chandelier cracked in half and the two remained attached.
I screamed and grabbed both of them, lifting them off and tossing them on either side of me. They both made a move to go around me but this time my voice changed, the inner demon screeching. Thrown between the two, I aimed a gun on each of their foreheads. At the same time they tried to make a move, but the click of the gun threatened them to freeze. I sharply spoke, "If any of you even dare to take a step, I will blow your fucking brains out." Their silence pleased me, and I could feel their bodies cool off. But I still kept the nozzle at their heads for the hell of it. "This is stupid. We're wasting our time, fighting against each other"-I looked at Grim-"fighting for each other"-I looked at Isaac-"fighting against ourselves."
I motioned to the fog continuing to shield the windows. "The real enemy is out there. We've been holding off the fight we all knew was to come. If we don't stop the Cold Bloods and demons from fully entering this world, there will be too many demon leakings to stop. We all die. I'd say game over but," I smirked. "We all know this isn't a game."
Grim was the first to own up. "You're right-" I pulled the trigger and his face blew up. Except instead of a splatter, he transformed into this fog, circling around me. The rest of his headless body stood untouched.
I rolled my eyes and mimicked his voice, "I hate it when you do that, Hat!"
"I hate it when you do that, Hat!"
"Stop it!"
"Stop it!"
The fog molded back into his human head, sticking right back onto his body like nothing happened. "Why the hell did you do that?!" he exclaimed, arms up.
"Because I knew you'd be the first one to agree," I said.
"What does that have to do with shooting my head off?!"
I smiled. I had this thing where I did crazy shit for no reason. It was weird and nearly had me worried. Too bad I ran out of shits to care for. "For being you," I said.
Isaac opened his mouth but I shot his arm instead. He howled in pain, jumping about a thousand feet. "What the heck."
"That was for ditching a hot and bothered girl in your bed to go to Vegas," I said and bitterly smacked his wounded arm. "Cheer up, chap." I started walking towards the doors that led to the indoor parking lot. "The demons will do the healing for you. Just be lucky I didn't shoot your brains like old Grim here. You don't have an immortal ass like his."
Isaac chewed on his bottom lip, holding in the pain through low wheezes. Grim landed him a friendly slap on the shoulder and told him, "You get used it," before hiking to catch up to me.
"Hold up." I paused and said, "Say sorry to each other."
My ex failed to interrupt as I shot him again. Finally, they both muttered an apology and Grim ended up giving Isaac his glasses. The four eyed pushed them up his nose like the cute dork he was.
Ew. I just used the word cute.
I clapped my hands together. "Great. We'll do the gay wedding after we save the world."
"Was anyone planning to do something with the walking angel?" Isaac asked.
Grim and I turned to see Levi peeking around the mess of the place, walking aimlessly around.
"Grim," I said. The angel was filled with amazement at everything, confused as it touched a chair and table. "What did you do with Levi?"
He shrugged as if it was no big deal. I rewired him, popping some demon blood through his stream. He's our asset now. Our own fallen angel. He should have new abilities as well since I transformed him into both demon and angel."
"He didn't rebel against God or the heavens," Isaac frowned.
Grim gave a harsh laugh, the wickedness sparking those dimples on his cheek. "He will now."
"I got it, I got it," he shushed me and moved towards the Levi. But as he reached his hand out, the angel whisked off the floor, black wings flapping down to skyrocket up.
"Come back!" Grim cried out, arms reaching for the angel yet he was too late.
The angel broke through the glass ceiling, pieces raining down as our hands flung up to shield ourselves. There was swoosh of his heavy wings before he disappeared towards the moon.
A long silence fell over Grim, his eyes lost in the black ink of the night above us.
I lowly whistled. "He took that R.Kelly song way too seriously." I cupped my hands and shouted after him. "We believe you can fly buddy!"
Isaac hummed softly, "This is...the part when...I break free...'cause I can't resist it"-Grim shot a glare that could've frozen hell.
"Well, maybe the angel was claustrophobic in big ball rooms," I said. Immune to my ex's menacing looks, I patted his shoulder and sighed. "Tsk, tsk. The one that got away." I tried to sound sincere. I really did. But it was difficult when I knew my weapon I created would work and his wouldn't. The unmentionable competition between us since day one could never die. "Goes to show you whose a better craftsman." Grim quite close to punching me, something happened.
The moon displayed through the hole in the ceiling was covered by a black wings. Levi swooped down, a burst of wind slapping our chests as his landing violently shook the floor.
Instead of the clean drapes over his tan shoulders, a vest of black fur and thin trousers fit him nicely. He kept on his brown sandals, but I was completely drawn to the angel wings, feather adorned in black rather than the normal white.
"Well hot damn," I said.
Grim must've programmed him to not have emotion since he seem unfathomed by my words. What a smart guy. Not allowing Levi to experience my undying charm.
Levi's voice was hoarse, my attention on his black wings. "Lord Death is setting up camps that is assumingly leading to his main base."
"Ha!" was all Grim said before putting a teasing slap on my cheek. "Look whose better now, baby!" Sauntering over to Levi like he just won a medal, he patted Levi's head. "Nice work."
Isaac fascinated, he was ogling at this magnificent creature before us. He even cleaned his glasses before fixing a harder stare at the angel. "You could flew that high and see spot camps in a minute or two?"
His answer was firm, almost robotic. "Depending on the ranks, angels have outstanding speed especially in the skies."
Isaac did a fascinated, "Ooooh," like he just told him there was 3D printing food. Grim smacked his lips and puffed an imaginary collar. "Yeah. I know. I'm a genius. You're welcome."
I ignored him and rolled a dead lady over with one foot. Wearing a red trench coat, I instantly wanted it and slipped it off of her, shrugging the bloody fashion on.
I pushed the cocky bastard aside and put an arm around Levi's waist. "Enough flaunting. We're gonna take down those camps. He said they led to Lord Death. The more we kill on the way, the easier the fight."
"Hold up." Grim pointed a stern finger at the angel. "Do you know where the Lord Death is?"
The angel shook his head. "No. But it is assumed at least one of the camps would know of his location, each one with a minor leader."
Grim flipped a table over to take his scythe laying under a pile of cards. He hooked it on his back strap and said, "We destroy the camps and find where Lord Death is, then stop him and the Cold Bloods from moving any further."
Isaac readjusted his glasses. "So how are we going to get to the camps?'
I tightened my grip on Levi's waist. Isaac tried to mask his uneasiness and put a casual arm around the angel's waist. "You know I don't really l-like demon semon, right," he said awkwardly.
"Sure, Isaac. Sure," I said.
"Seriously!" he burst. "I'm all about women."
"Sure, Isaac."
"I am! Women, womening, womanly, women. I'm all about the V instead of the P!"
"Sure, Isaac."
"There ain't nothang like a breast wang!"
"Sure, Isaac."
He grabbed my neck and kissed me, shouting in exasperation. "See?!"
"Sure, Isaac. Sure." He looked like he was about to cry and scream at the same time. I loved messing with this guy. Anyway, he knew my lips were tingly and weird.
Waiting for the last member of the team, Grim opened his mouth and the fog climbing the casino walls and ceiling drifted towards him. Flying back into his mouth, some parts of the fog picked up our weapons that scattered across the red carpet. My two knives and two machetes dropped next to my boot and I shoved them into my thigh straps. Loaded, bitches.
Fog circled around the hole in the ceiling and returned with our weapons from Grim's house, lifting them like clouds. Isaac's sword clattered down along with a pistol for each of us. The clouds made a final sweep, killing off all security surveillance in the building.
Strapping the weapons on, Grim seemed unmoved by holding onto Levi's waist. I demanded, "Let's go." All the fog final disappeared and gunshots were now audible. Heavy boots thundered down the stairs, doors breaking to get in.
A blast of wind hit our faces and our cheeks huddled against Levi as his wings branched out. They lifted up and swept down, shooting the four of us up.
Isaac's scream was even louder than all the police sirens wailing below. I bet he held on tighter than all of us.
Flying up, Levi spun and we soared across the sky. Bright signs below were the only blinking lights of the night. Since my angel slaughter, it was the second night straight without the stars. I stared down, cars flashes of colour, the energy level high and alive in Vegas. I could only hope Earth would be the same in the next few hours because soon, it might be just be dark and dead.
Levi flew us across the dunes, the cool air whipping our clothes in a wind wrestle. I tried to make anything below, however we were moving too fast, the speed unbelievable. For an odd reason, the ride slowly started to be comfortable and I found myself nestling on Levi. Demon blood running through all of us, our strength was more than normal and our arms weren't tired of holding on. Soon water was below our dangling feet, Isaac shutting his eyes during that venture.
Minutes past once we flew over land again. The sun was out on this side of the world and as a consequence, a wave of heat stung my eyes. I buried my face into him for the second time, blocking it out.
But as peace never lasts, our arrival drew near. My heart dropped and I knew we were descending. Ahead was a field of blinking lights, human looking creatures roaming the ground. Their camp isolated from civilization, tents were pinned in the sand, my eyes landing on the biggest canvas tent standing at the site.
"Take out anything that breathes down there," I ordered. "If a leader is found, tie him down and alert the others. We don't want to spend all our time terminating this camp. Our main priority is getting to Lord Death and we can only do that if we can take over the minor leader here."
"Ass kicking. I like it," Grim laughed, already retracting his scythe. Isaac fumbled with his pistol, taking a good hundred years to load the damn thing.
"Remember, pussies," I said, now only one arm clutching Levi's waist. We were descending quick now, Levi easily detecting the best landing spot. He aimed for the parking lot full of monster vehicles. No license plates, all tires more than twice the size of me, metal gleaming off the beating sun. I removed one of the machetes from my straps. "Don't take anyone's mercy."
I released my grip, jumping onto a monster trunk. Making a swift land, I crouched down, flipping my long trench coat back. I drove my heel through the glass window, swinging myself into the truck. Spikes gleamed on the truck, it's camo patterns driving me mad. I grinned and moved my hand over the wheel, summoning the cold blood souls from my system. They sneaked into the car engine, the hunk of metal roaring to life. By the time the camp alarms went off, all four of us were in a monster truck. Shoving the shift bar forward, I stomped on the pedal and howled at the grinding of the twelve feet wheels beneath me.
I sped forward, running over demons and small tents. One splatted against my front window and now up close, the demon didn't look human at all. Similar to the demons back at the Eagles, the demon had missing eyes and chainsaw blades as hands. "Gross," I grimaced and yanked the wheel to the right, the demon skidding off my window.
The truck bounced, bones crushed and demon screeches blasting.
A quick movement caught my gaze and I checked the rear view mirror and saw a bazooka already aiming a few tents behind. I threw the car door open, leaping out head first. I heard the sharp zing of the missile and metal exploded, flames barley tickling my back. Grim's truck swooped in on time, my head smacking off the roof before I rolled to a stop, nearly falling off. Slowly getting onto my feet, I remained in a crouching position on his roof and called, "Good catch!"
"You owe me!" he shouted from the driver seat.
I snorted and stood upright, removing the other machete, both in each hand. Taking two short breathes, I leaped off the truck and flung both machetes out like swift wings of my own, cutting two demon heads off. Tumbling to the ground, another demon reached for my leg and I kicked sand in its eyes. It spluttering back, I sprung up from my wrists, leaping back onto two feet and stabbed its eyes out; twisting the blade around until the other end of the blade stuck out of it's skull. Kicking it out of my way, I cradled my arms around a demon's neck and snapped the bone beneath. One chainsaw hand charged for my rib cage and I jumped over it. I swung my leg backwards to nail a demon in the temple.
Driving a blade through another demon chest, I kicked off a table, retracting my blade simultaneously, to wrap my legs around his neck to break it in half between my thighs. I landed gently, the demon body limp at my ankles.
Running towards the big tent, I spotted a demon creep behind Isaac who had his teeth barred into the face of a different demon. I chucked one machete, nailing the sneaky demon in the brain. Black juices squirted across Isaac and snapping back to my task, I dove down on my knees, just dodging a huge wooden club. Grabbing the club, I swept my leg low and caught the demon off it's feet. I knocked it cold with it's own weapon, and turned, swinging my single machete into the demon chest. I stabbed twice in the stomach and kicked the twitching body to the sand.
Suddenly two hands grabbed onto my mouth and pulled me into a tent. My finger grazed over the knife on my thigh strap and within one second, the handle was in my grasp. I slipped the blade into the thigh of my attacker and cracked my head back, it slamming into the opponent's head. Whirling my leg around to knock him into a table, he cracked the wood into two, alcohol shots shattered.
I spun around with another kick to his head and shoved a loaded pistol into their mouth. My attacker had eyes and normal hands but that shed no light onto my pity. "Too bad I can't give you any last words," I sweetly drawled, shoving the pistol farther down the man's throat.
Then a voice burst into my mind and I scream, falling onto the floor with my hand on my ear. The man scrambled to me, and the voice in my mind was frantically shouting again. Jessie! Alice! Jessie Daniels!
It felt like my ears were bleeding. I thought only Isaac could get into my head. Clouded by this, I managed to clobber the attack with the pistol handle, it striking his shoulder bone and we both went down; him in pain and me in exhaustion and ear bleeds.
My pistol slightly trembling, body hunched, I somehow still was able to aim it at the bastard's forehead.
The voice was there again. Alice! Jessie Daniels! We've been looking for you!
I stumbled up on both feet, one eye barely open with a hand over my ringing ear. No mercy. My Cold Blood soul was urging me to kill him. No mercy. No mercy. The man finally spoke, "Wait stop!" No mercy.
My finger curled around the trigger and he shrieked, "I'm Brian Daniels! Your father!"

"...and Darth Vader is Luke's father."
" Oh right, so you just happen to guess the biggest cinematic reveal in history."
"'Vader' in German means 'father'. His name is literally Darth Father."
Can you name what movie that's from? PS. Can't wait 'till part 2 comes out. AHH.
