DO YOU SEE THE BLACK AND BLUE DRESS OR THE WHITE AND GOLD DRESS IN THE IMAGE POSTED?
#TeamBlackBlue
Bruh, I see black and blue. But I stared at it for five minutes and it changed colour. What.
Anyways,
DOES THIS STORY LACK GORE?
^^I need to know because I realized the first chapter only has gore and I was wondering if anyone misses it.
Thanks :)
Warning: I'm not gonna lie. I was not okay while writing this chapter. Not. Okay.

Whoever said angels were nice people must've have been shitting yogurts and pissing fire trucks.
Let me go backwards for a moment-to before we entered heaven.
The crinkle of rocks under our shoes didn't soften the queasy waves riding my insides. I carefully stopped by the edge, cautioned of the fact there weren't safety railings.
"Is this your strategic method to finally kill Isaac?" My voice failed to sound humorous, seeming this matter was anything but funny. Sweat glistened across my palms and I wiped them again down my pants.
Isaac made an audible gulp, his Adam apple bobbing. "We're not actually going to jump are we?"
The wind dying down, Grim answered, "Well"-he adjusted his vest-"We're not just going to jump. We're going to jump, hit the ground, and then die."
My backbone went a little stiffer. "Say what now?" I exclaimed.
Between being fearless or absolutely stupid, Grim stepped forward, bending down to the alive city below.
"I think I hear my dead dad calling me," Isaac started and began heading away, but Grim yanked at his shirt, pulling him back. He huffed and whined, "Why can't we just fall into a something like when we went to Hell?"
Grim suddenly chucked a hand up towards the blue skies, a sudden anger building. "Let me give you a heads up about angels-they're pretentious fucking assholes. They think they're top shit because humans-the basic bitches-see them as gods and goddesses who live for justice and crap."
I gulped down the trembling waves of panic that rocked my abdomen. "And?! There better be an 'and'!" I gritted though my teeth.
"And." He circled the crowding New Yorkers below, all minding their own business. "The only reason we could easily access Hell was because we were all part demon. But none of us are part angel-therefore we not actually allowed in heaven."
"So we have to kill ourselves first," Isaac bluntly stated.
"Sacrifice," Grim clarified.
"Like that makes it better," I said.
Millions of people were the size of ants as they swarmed the streets below. It looked like they were crowding around for feeding time.
I always thought Empire State looked beautiful from afar. But now that I was at the top, it suddenly made me hate the Big Apple, and heights, and that spring roll in my stomach Grim forced me to eat. Someone down there might be getting their Panda Express in advance.
I sensed an immediate upwelling of terror seize Isaac's system and he leaped a step back, grabbing onto my sleeve for support. "Is he serious about jumping?"
"Yes," Grim confirmed with a heavy sight. When he grasped my hand, the warmth did a terrible job calming my nerves.
"Jump?" I croaked. I suppressed the urge to dart to the elevator. I clutched my sleeves, hiding my hands. The last thing I jumped off was the staircase in the sixth grade and it was only the second step from the bottom. That resulted in a bruise to my left cheek, a bleeding nose, a swollen eye and nine scratches across my legs. The memories of my human form were slowly leaking into my mind-it was chilling, like a cold lick up the spine. Seeing another side of you that was so...human was strange.
The wind battled against my neck, and I snapped out of it. Looking down, a sudden flash of panic woke my senses. "What happens after heaven and we want to get back to the mainland?"
"Well if one of the angel's like us, they'll resurrect our bodies and everything will be okay."
The fear that slowly escaped earlier was now exploding in my system and I shook my head. My heart was pumping out of my chest, and my toes tingled from the dangerous height.
"If they like us?!" Isaac cried and covered his eyes, shaking his head. "We're demons! Angels don't like demons!"
I fixed my eyes at the death ending drop. My hands grew moist. My feet tingled uncontrollably like the time when you're slowly descending on a rollercoaster. I didn't say anything-remaining mute while pursing my lips. A voice filled my mind: Breath, Alice. Breath.
I cocked my head up for the voice and saw Isaac staring at me. My eyes widened. That didn't just happen-
Words never left my mouth because a second later, Grim's bent his knees, roughly grabbed my shoulder, and shoved Isaac and I off the skyscraper. Then the only sound audible was my blood curling scream.
Grim was diving head first, blonde curls swirled in the wind like ribbons of an acrobat. My hair whipped viciously behind my ear and I caught Isaac's cheeks flapping in the wind.
Time was speeding-dragging, the Earth yanking us down faster. Death then enveloped my vision, darkness swallowing me whole. A crack. A scream. Then nothing.
I didn't remember waking up.
I looked at Isaac and Grim whose bodies seemed to be all in the right places. I put my hand on my stomach, head, and butt. "Thank god," I released and Grim gave me a funny smile. "What?" I asked.
His smile wobbled a bit and he just walked forward. Tagging behind, my footsteps echoed on the yellow brick bridge. Plush pink clouds colouring the horizon, a whistle of soft winds whispering in my ear.
I followed closely to Grim, and saw Isaac already clinging to him. A gleaming tower was at the end of the bridge, golden pillars lined up across the entrance. My eyes had trouble swallowing the entire tower, the detailed swirls engraved in each brick astonishing me. The clinking of our weapons hanging from our waists was the single sound at first.
"What do you think angels look like?" Isaac quietly asked. No one told him to talk in such a hush, but this place made everyone talk softly.
I never met an angel, but if there was one thing I learned-never underestimate the identity of a supernatural creature. That guy who sits beside you in class? He could be Jesus. The high school janitor? Batman. The old crazy cat lady across the street? She was probably still the old crazy cat lady.
Particularly after I learned that Grim could change into any form he wanted, I was bracing myself for the upcoming culture shock.
Making it up to the entrance, I was a little taken aback by the fact they had no doors. Anyone could waltz in whenever they wanted. That eased me a bit-this must've been a safe and quiet place.
Like a library.
I liked libraries.
Once we past the entrance way, the soft whispers grew. Light seeped in from the top of the tower, the sound of water rushing catching my attention. Fountains of crystal clear water spread across the white tiled floors, what I assumed to be angels sitting and chatting over the fountain. Beaded necklaces looped down to their chests, drapes loosely hung over their shoulders. Long hair cascaded their baby skin faces, puffs of smoke leaving their lips. An angel removed a joint from their mouth and passed it to another.
"They're hippies!" Isaac fearfully shrieked, nearly jumping on Grim.
As fucked up as it was, they did resemble hippies. From what I just observed, they were the whole nine yards of 70s culture.
Grim slapped his hand over Isaac's mouth with a harsh 'shhh'. "Don't disturb them. Or they'll come at you like a psycho wife who just won't let go of her ex-husband." Isaac learned fast and shut his trap, simply fascinated by this strange discovery.
Grim continued as we walked past the oblivious angels. "Follow these simple rules, and we'll get out here alive, okay?" he whispered. "Don't upset an angel, don't breath on an angel, don't sneeze in front of an angel, don't yell at an angel, don't sass an angel, don't touch an angel and especially, don't eat an angel."
"Why would we eat an angel?"
"Because we're demons and they taste like chocolate."
"That's disgusting-you ate an angel?" I harshly whispered. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I needed to feed and they were the closest thing. You've probably done it before!" Grim quietly hissed.
"No, I haven't because I don't kill angels. I've eaten wolves, trolls, dwarves, princes and humans but never an angel. That's revolting!"
"Liar."
"Am not!"
"What brings you hear, Grim?" a voice smooth as silk whisped through the air. We turned our attention to the man on the pedestal, his back to us.
"Levi, it's a pleasure to see you again," Grim said with a nod.
The sound you heard in the toilet was after and I watched sceptically at the angel with his back to his, hands in front of his waist...
"Is he taking a piss?"
"Correct," Grim said.
"In the fountain?"
"Correct."
I blinked a couple of times to refresh my paralyzed mind. Isaac did the same. "Is he doing a holy blessing?"
I leaned over to Isaac. "I think he's ejaculating some form of spiritual urine."
Grim gave us a look that I thought meant 'Shut up' but I wasn't entirely sure. The angel continued peeing what felt like an ocean and a couple of lakes, and I realized he should probably get that checked.
Nails dug into my arm and I almost swore, glaring at Isaac who was squeezing me with terror. A couple of angels were winking at him, passing over whimsical giggles and waves.
Infuriated, a word that rhymed with hitch climbed up my throat until my conscious knocked it down.
Would it be wrong of me to swear in fucking heaven? I mean, I was only thinking of profanity. What moron would swear in heaven?
"This is just fucking great!" I jumped in surprise by the crooning angel who had miraculously stopped pissing, his back still facing us. He waved one hand and stared down at his waist. "Aw shit, it's too big to fit."
"Ohmygod." I averted my eyes and Isaac's ears turned pink, burying himself against my shoulder.
"My stupid hands can never fit into my pocket," he sighed. The sound of a zipper was heard and the man spun around, and tried to get into his pant pocket. Finally, he pulled out what he was looking for and offered it to Grim. "Mint?"
"No thank you," he politely responded.
The man seemed to be in his early twenties if considered a human, dark brown hair spiked like a college student. His honey eyes glazed over us. "What friends did you bring-" But those eyes stopped and heated on me. "Jessie?!"
"Why the fuck does everyone know me as Jessie?!"
Isaac was giddy and clapping in triumph. "I told you I wasn't the only one who knew you before! I told you! And you thought I was crazy! Tell that to the angel!"
"Jessie," Levi ushered, dashing over to me. He grabbed my face and pressed his forehead against mine. "I thought you were dead."
"I swear you tried to kill her," Grim quipped.
Levi snapped his head up and glared. "A man changes once he's an angel."
"Yeah, changing into an arrogant prick with a stick up their ass!" Grim snapped and other angels directed their attention to him. He cleared his throat and whispered, "She doesn't remember you."
"You knew this angel was related to my human form?!" I angrily shot at him.
He winced and tried carrying this topic on a light note, "He was just like the other guy who loved you except he wanted you dead. I didn't think it was that important." I balled my hands together. He tossed his hands in innocence. "Hey! It all comes down to the fact those two guys, leader of the Cold Blood demons and this angel, loved you in your human form but then eventually they both wanted you dead at one point. Honestly, I didn't see the importance in separately naming them-"
I wretched Levi's hands off my face and gently slapped Grim's cheek. "Why did you keep this from me?"
"You didn't ask!"
"How could I when I didn't even know?!"
"Alice!" Isaac's troubled voice ripped my attention off of Grim and I saw the dorky loser get pulled by the female angels.
I made a move for my sword, but Levi put a hand on it. "Ladies. Leave the poor virgin alone." They giggled and unclasped their nails from his skin, and he scrambled away, nearly knocking me over.
"Who are you," I questioned the angel.
His spine straightened up and his sun kissed muscles gleamed in the light like a god. "I was once a human, a leader of the gang like Cameron. Cameron and I were brothers until we were consumed by hatred and split into separate gangs. We both died during an explosion and then there was a trade-off. Initially, I was supposed to go to hell and he was supposed to go to heaven. But because Cameron wished to resurrect his human body, they could only bring him back to life if I was sent to heaven and once his human self dies, he would be sent to Hell. During my human journey I had met you, loved you-"
Grim coughed, "Tried to kill you."
"And I will still love the Jessie who was the first girl I fell for," he finished. "I did backstab you, and I was older than you and-"
"What is this-Pretty Little Liars?" Grim snorted.
"-and I'm sorry for not telling you in when I was a human." Levi looked into my eyes and I softened at his look of melancholy.
"Thank you and I forgive you," I said. "But Jessie is long gone now. I'm sure she would've forgiven you too."
He nodded, and although the sadness was lifted, fragments still lingered around his eyes.
"Okay-so who are you again?" Isaac said. "Because I don't remember Jessie knowing a dude like you."
"It doesn't matter what I was before," he said. "Now I am an angel. I am Levi."
"I am Groot," Isaac spoke.
We all questionably looked at Isaac who seemed startled by our attention. "What? Never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy? Read the comic books? Anyone?"
"I. Am. Levi," he darkly repeated, nose pointing down at Isaac.
He shrunk back, hugging himself. "M-My mom buys that jean brand all the time." Levi growled even louder. "I-It's best quality of denim!"
I exhaled a heavy sigh and said, "Why is it that wherever we bring you, someone always wants to kill you."
"I...I don't know."
Grim stepped in between Levi and Isaac. "I don't mean to intrude but can I talk to you alone Levi? It's about Lord Death."
The angel sharpened his posture and gave a firm nod. "Let's talk privately."

"They said no."
Grim was speed walking down the stairs, grabbing my hand, Isaac linked with my other. A huge potato sack bag was over his shoulder. Sweat was across his brow, veins thick and pumping.
"Why are we leaving so fast? What happened?" I spun my head around, watching the angels slowly get off their fountains. There movements were almost zombie-like, slow and deadly.
"They said no, Alice." He held the sack tighter, jogging now. "They refused to help us fight the war."
"You guys had a happy meal without us?!" Isaac exclaimed.
My nose wrinkled and I gave a weird look at Isaac. "What?"
Isaac gestured towards Grim's scythe strapped to his back. "He's got ketchup all over his blade!"
My ribs tightened against my stomach and I could feel the air thinning. "Grim. What did you do?"
Running. We were running hard across the bridge. I heard the angels screaming, cries and shouts rumbling from the tower.
"Grim!" I snapped, trying to make him stop running but failed miserably. "Grim what did you do?!"
We halted at the end of the bridge, the clouds past whatever was ahead. Like our death for example. "You upset them?! You upset the angels didn't you? How are we supposed to get our bodies back?!"
Isaac's voice climbed a few octaves, his voice squeaking, "Guys. The angels are coming." I swerved around and almost fell back, frightened by the swarm of angels, huge wings blowing away clouds. Their shadows made the sky much darker.
I retracted my sword. "Grim!" I warned.
He rustled his hand in the bag and murmured several words, shutting his eyes.
"Now isn't a good time to pray!" Isaac roared with a mixture of a screech. I could see his shirt tearing, muscles growing. His glasses hit the floor, cracking upon impact.
"Grim! What are you doing!" I pushed aside the bag and saw Grim holding hands with Levi's dead body. My heart pumped faster. Grim whispered his last words, and leaped off the bridge, bringing Isaac, the bag with Levi's body and I with him.
There was a flash of light.
Then silence.
