The boy was a curious child, and he just recently started living with his aunt, next to a beautiful lake. But his aunt and everyone in the town forbade him to go to the lake, saying that there's a monster that lives there, and that it "loves soft things to eat."

The boy, a see-to-believe kind of person, immediately packs up some chicken and heads to the lake's dock to row out to the middle of the lake.

There, he meets a boy around his age. He explains what he's doing and the other boy asks if he can join him on his expedition. The boy agrees and they set off, rowing to the middle of the lake.

The silence until then was deafening, but what the other boy says next ruins it completely.

"You know, I love soft things to eat."

The boy turned just fast enough to see his company open his mouth to reveal rows and rows of razor sharp teeth.

There was no scream.
