"Wake up to reality...!" You spoke up as this made Eren freeze up from the intensity and power coming from the tone you spoke in. "Nothing ever goes as planned in this world. The longer you live, the more you realize, that only pain, suffering and futility exist in this reality...Listen to us, Eren..." You said as Eren's eyes filled with despair as you and Mikasa turned back towards him. "We don't have a choice. Because the world is cruel." You and Mikasa spoke in unison as Eren was left speechless.

You and Mikasa continued ahead leaving Eren to his own internal battles before you two were stood under the hole and stared up to see Annie wasn't above the area you were under. You and Mikasa nodded to each other as she threw on her hood before the two of you boosted out of the hole and ran out through the debris and onto the street. Once you turned to your right, you saw her standing there in the middle of the street, cautiously waiting as she slowly turned towards you two. Annie and you locked eyes as you gave her a cold and heartless stare while memories of the night you two shared began to run through your mind.

"I just want to be free...for just even one night...I don't wanna look at this cruel world anymore..." You remembered her shed tears from pain. "I don't wanna feel alone anymore...I don't wanna feel sad anymore...I don't wanna remember those terrible things anymore...!" Those words pounded against your brain as you remembered how broken she looked in your arms. "Don't go." The words she pleaded with during the night of the selection ceremony of the military branches as you ground your teeth in anger. "I love you Y/N." Your grip tightened around the hilts of your blades as you slid to a stop and Annie and you stared each other down.

"Annie..." You exhaled as Annie's Titan tensed up in slight fear of how terrifying the look in your eyes were. "...I'll make sure you suffer for making a fool of me." You said as Mikasa was also shocked by how heartless you were sounding.

"Y/N, we should take this on strategically. Let's first--!" Mikasa was cut off when the gas from your gear spewed out suddenly and made her cover herself. "Y/N!" She called out in worry as you sped off at full speed.

"Let's go...ANNIE LEONHART!!!!!" You screamed at the top of your lungs as you soared high above her in the air.

Annie reached her hand up to try and grab onto you, but as you fell down towards her, you changed the angle of your blades and began to twist your body to the side. In that moment, you envisioned your sister and the maneuver's she was able to pull off using her gear, and imitated it yourself. Pressing your gas, you began to spin at high speeds, using your blades to completely shred Annie's hand to a liquid paste as Mikasa and Annie were both beyond shocked by how violent of a maneuver you pulled off. You grinned as you continued at full speed, spinning all across her body with your blades as blood flew into the air. Annie began to have flashbacks to the time Levi completely demolished her in the forest, and stumbled back to try and gain some distance. While moving back, she noticed Armin digging around some rubble in haste and assumed that he was looking for Eren where she recently stomped the ground. Annie turned around to try and head over, but Mikasa grabbed her attention as she turned back to swipe at Ackerman, only to have her stab her blade into her arm as before jumping away as Annie took off the roofs of five buildings next to her. Debris flew into the air as Mikasa was struck by a few rocks and fell to the ground, but Annie wasn't ready for the next attack, as you barreled through the debris at full speed, screaming in rage as you sheered away a huge chunk of flesh from the front left side of her neck. Annie covered her nape as you rounded your way to her back and hardened her other hand as she tried to swipe you away. She felt the back of her hand connect with you as she stopped it in the air expecting to see you fling off of her, but went wide-eyed when she saw you were still on her hand, battered blades stabbed into the crystalized flesh as a few shards of your blades were sent flying into your body, broken from the impact and sent flying like shrapnel. Blood dripped down your face and over one eye as you glared at her and detached the broken blades before running up her arm.

"The only way you can stop me..." You said as you equipped a fresh pair of blades and leaped towards her face. "...IS IF YOU KILL ME!!" You screamed as Annie chose to duck under you, making you miss as you anchored onto the building ahead and landed on the roof. "Back me up!" You yelled as Annie turned to see reinforcement scouts running over to you.

"Don't let the Female Titan escape! Absolutely do not let her leave!" The squad leader of the reinforcements yelled as Annie regenerated her wounds before standing back up.

"Y/N!" You heard someone land next to you and turned to see Mikasa had recovered.

"Are you alright?" You asked her.

"I'll be fine. What now?" Mikasa asked as she tossed away her torn up hoodie.

"Now we take her legs! Let's go!" You yelled as the two of you leaped off the building and began to fly low to the ground.

You and Mikasa swerved above the street and flew straight towards Annie's legs as your sights were locked on her achilles tendons just above her heels. The two of you swirled around in unpredictable patterns before you each targeted one of her legs. You and Mikasa flipped upside down and cut her achilles tendons before wrapping a wire around her ankles and speeding backwards. Annie glared down at you two before feeling the wires of your gear cut through the flesh as she stumbled and landed against a building before falling to the ground as she covered her nape. You and Mikasa flew back up to a rooftop as the other scouts were beginning to join in and try to battle the Female Titan as she was beginning to heal and get back up. Though you outnumbered her, Annie was still able to make ease of the scouts that swarmed her as she crushed and splattered them all over the streets and buildings around her. You and Mikasa were about to make your move, but stopped when a voice called out.

"Annie!" You and Mikasa turned to see Armin had run out to face Annie as the Female Titan turned towards him. "If you can't kill me this time, you can't make the same bullshit excuse that your bet's just beginning anymore!" Armin called her out as Annie was jaw-dropped by this insult.

Taking this moment when she was distracted, Jean had appeared behind Annie and went in for her nape, but Annie raised her hand to cover her weak spot and hardened her flesh as Jean's blades shattered and he was forced to retreat.

"Armin! Y/N! This way!" Jean called out as he flew down the road in another direction.

"Roger!" Armin yelled as he flew up and followed him.

"We're going with that plan then?" You thought as you and Mikasa both followed suit as you turned back to Annie with a grin. "Come and get me." You taunted her as she had a frustrated look on her face before giving chase.

Meanwhile, Sarah was perched up atop a roof with a few other scouts as they had an ambush site set up. Whilst lying in wait, your sister and Hange's assistant, Moblit, couldn't help but stare nervously at Hange who had a crazed smile on her face as she giggled while holding a firing rope attached to a harpoon canons that they used back in the forest.

"Scary!" Sarah thought as she felt uneased by the look Hange had.

"Squad Leader...It's coming." Moblit said as Hange was struggling to hold her excitement back. "You have a crazy look in your eyes." Moblit said as Hange stood up when you and your friends flew by, and right after, Annie walked right into the trap as Hange planted her foot onto the harpoon canon she was next to.

"FIRE!!!!" Sarah yelled as the scouts unleashed their canons, ensnaring Annie in wires to restrict her movement.

You watched as Annie reached a hand out for you, but you flew back enough to where it was just out of reach and she locked eyes with you once more as wires wrapped around her face before she fell down onto her back. The scouts used a heavy net that had huge heavy-weighted spear anchors on the bottom as they dropped it onto her and confined her to the ground. You landed next to your sister as all you scouts stared down at Annie while Hange twirled the firing rope around in her fingers.

"Okay! I thought there'd be no need for a plan C, but nope...That's Commander Erwin for you, I guess." Hange said while catching the grip of the rope in her hand before tossing it aside. "Now then..." She trailed off while stepping off the roof and flying down to stand next to Annie's face and walked towards her. "Be a good girl. Stay put." Hange said while leaning against Annie's face and pointing her blade at her eye as Annie's pupil dilated from how close it was. "Here, you're too far in to get Titans to devour you like before. But don't worry..." Hange spoke with a look in her eye that put you off edge. "...I'll be the one devouring you instead. I'll devour all the information that we can drag out of you." Hange said as you noticed one of the spear anchors from the net near Annie's leg came out of the ground as you went wide-eyed.

"JUMP!!!" You screamed at the top of your lungs to them as Annie's leg had come free and she swiped away at the harpoon canons, blowing them and a few scouts away as she freed herself while everyone who could get away, took refuge to the roofs. "Damn it! Are you kidding me!?" You spoke in frustration.

"She broke free?" Mikasa couldn't believe Annie's resilience.

"We needed more traps!" Hange exasperated at how unprepared they were, but brushed it off to stay focused. "Don't let her escape! Follow her!" She gave the order as all you scouts gave chase after Annie.

"Where do you think you're going? I'm not done tormenting you, Annie!" You chased after her as you led the charge with all your allies flying behind you.

Chasing after the Female Titan, you charged ahead with no second thought as Annie continued to run and swipe at buildings, creating debris to try and get in your way. You and scouts were dodging rocks left and right as you leaped high into the air flew straight down towards her head. Annie raised her hand and covered her nape as you stabbed you stabbed your blades into the back of her neck and held on while she continued to run. Mikasa had caught up to you and tried to cut away at her neck, but just missed as she began to fly in the path of Annie. The blonde Titan raised her leg and swiped it through the street as Mikasa's wires were caught and she was sent flying, barely able to catch herself from a fatal fall by using her gas, but still stumbled once her feet touched the ground and rolling harshly and fell hard enough to knock her out. You looked in worry at Mikasa before yelling out in rage and stabbing one of your blades into Annie's unhardened and unprotected flesh, trying to find a way around her nape.

"Annie...you were the first person I ever loved..." You thought as you continued to cut away at her flesh and began to cut away the inner flesh that was near her nape. "...and your the first person to ever make me feel this sad and heartbroken..." Your true feelings began to emerge about the situation between you two. "You probably weren't lying when you said you loved me, I could see the truth in your eyes when you said that. I was the one lying to myself. I don't hate you. I didn't want to believe that you were trying to destroy humanity, but you're trying to destroy the walls and let Titans eat everyone. That's something I can't let happen." You thought as steam was beginning to pour from the wound you were opening on her body and it began to get hot all around you, but you persisted. "I know you regret the things you probably thought you had to do in order to get to where you are now...please, let me end this...so you don't suffer anymore..." You thought as you remembered how sad she looked the night you were together. "...don't worry, once I kill you, I'll kill myself as well...so we can leave this terrible world together..." You buried your hand into the flesh and poked yourself into her body as you searched for anywhere she could be in the Titan.

Annie reached her other hand and grabbed you by your lower body as you punched your hand through one last wall of red flesh inside her nape. Annie, who was inside the nape, was shocked when she saw your hand suddenly pierce all the way through to where she was. She stared at your hand longingly as tears ran down her face and she continued ahead, heartbroken at everything that had happened. Your hand disappeared from the inside of her nape as Annie used her Titan hand and pulled you away from the back of her neck, you yelled from the sudden handling as Annie brought you back out and held you in front of her. While running towards the center of the district, Annie looked down at you as her Titan blood covered your entire upper body, but she could see the pained eyes you had and felt terrible for how she made you feel.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N...this is the only way to save the only people in my life that I care about..." Annie thought as she was committed to saving you and showing you the truth about the world, and also committed to recovering the Founding Titan to return home to her father. "I'm truly sorry..." Annie thought as she finally managed to slip the scouts by tossing enough debris behind her as she pulled away.

Annie ran out into a clearing in the district where there was a small round building that she knew was used by the church. She repositioned you in her hand to bind your arms to your side as you struggled to break free and she looked around trying to figure out her escape plan. Whilst doing so, everyone was interrupted when a blinding flash of light struck the earth nearby and there was a loud explosion before the light had disappeared. Annie and you both stared in the direction of the light as the two of you knew what the light and explosion meant. Annie stood in the center seemingly unsure on what to do, but as you were trying to break free, the thunderous stomping of giant footsteps became audible and you looked around trying to see where they were coming from. The footsteps grew louder as a spine chilling roar came from behind Annie, and just when she turned around, the Female Titan was struck in the face with a fist that sent her flying and made her release you. Getting your gas off in time, you managed to fly in another direction before landing on a patch of grass and rolling to a stop to see Annie crash into the church next her as you turned your head to see Eren had made it to the battle.

"About time..." You chuckled as Eren's Titan let out a steamy exhale as his broken hand that ye punched Annie with had finished healing. "Time to settle the score, Eren!" You yelled as Eren roared whole charging towards Annie.

You groaned in pain as you fumbled around for your ODM gear controls before you could get caught in Eren's trembling stomps, you used your gas at full speed and flew off the ground and away. Eren's stomps created gusts of winds that caught up to you as you were sent flying towards a brick wall, but before you suffered more blunt trauma, Jean managed to swoop in and catch you and ascended to rooftop level.

"Aghhh!" Jean yelled as he heaved you up into the air as the two of you rolled on to the rooftop next to you. "A-Are you okay?!" Jean asked as you groaned.

"Ngghh...Never better..." You grumbled out as you sat up to see Annie run away as Eren chased after her. 

"You two!" A voice called out as you and Jean turned to see Hange fly over with Armin and Sarah behind her. "Let's go!" She yelled as you and Jean were lifted to your feet by your friends. 

The five of you all flew off to chase after Eren and Annie as they stomped through the streets of Stohess, shaking the area with each step they took. You all landed atop another rooftop and watched as Eren and Annie both ran pass you five as you watched carefully over the chase.

"This time, it seems he's retaining control." Hange commented over Eren's accurate movements in his Titan.

"Yes. But Eren's never managed to beat the Female Titan." Armin commented as this put you all at slight unease.

"Now that he's a Titan, he must be prepared to fight...He won't go down so easily--!" Jean belief in Eren was suddenly silenced when Armin interrupted.

"Willpower alone isn't enough in battle. You know that, Jean!" Armin said as this made everyone even more nervous as you turned back towards the thunderous noises coming from farther away. "Defeating Annie will require far more..." Armin said as all the scouts continued to chase after Eren and Annie, as the two were heading for a clearing in the District.

"An open area! The Female Titan's heading for an open area!" One of the scouts yelled as the rest of you Survey Corps soldiers landed atop the surrounding buildings of the area. 

"We can't use Maneuver Gear there!" One other scout said in frustration as Hange took the lead.

"Split up and work your way around to the other side!" Hange ordered.

"Roger!" You all responded and broke off to surround the open area.

You continued to chase after the two Titans while maintaining a distance to not get caught in their destructive path. While flying over the rooftops, you watched as Annie and Eren tore through the streets, even getting a squad of MP's crushed as they fumbled about trying to get their Maneuver Gear equipped. They ran into the open area as you landed on top of one of the buildings and the rest of the Survey Corps got into position as the entire open area was surrounded and Annie was trapped with Eren. Seeing no other option for where to run, Annie turned around and slid to a stop as she grabbed onto a building to slow herself down, ripping it open as MP's that were inside had suddenly been tossed out and killed. Annie and Eren stared each other down as this was going to be their final battle against each other.

"Annie...You always acted like you found everything incredibly stupid." Eren thought as he remembered his days of training and how Annie was always uninterested in everything. "You always seemed bored." He thought as Annie raised her guard and assumed her martial arts stance as Eren remembered the harsh sparring session he had with her. "But there were times when you looked alive...When you were showing off your martial arts. You said none of it mattered, but...To me, it didn't look like you really believed that. I just thought you were a terrible liar..." Eren thought as he stared at Annie with anger burning in his Titan eyes. "Tell me, Annie...What are you fighting for? What could have been worth killing all those people!?" Eren's mind filled with all his comrades that fell at Annie's hand.

Roaring louder than he ever had before, Eren charged at Annie with a right punch reeled back and sent his fist flying towards her. Hardening her left elbow, Annie stepped back once and guarded with her hardened joint as this damaged Eren's hand. The force from the collision was so great a shock wave was sent through the area as you had to hold onto the building you were attached to when a gust of wind almost knocked you off and sent debris flying everywhere. Eren stumbled forward as Annie tried to kick him, but her opponent managed to guard against her kick before wrapping his arms around her calf and standing up, throwing her balance off. Using great strength, Eren roared as he pulled Annie's leg and lifted her off the ground before spinning back and tossing her over the building you were attached to as you watched Annie fly over and crash against a building behind you. Jaw-dropped from shock, you barely managed to notice Eren charging towards Annie, meaning he was about to crash through the building you were on as you jumped away and he tore through the building and almost reached her, but Annie moved away in time as he smashed his body against a building. You regrouped with the rest of the scouts as you all could only watch in disbelief at this battle.

"What is this...?" Moblit said in disbelief of the destruction before turning to Hange. "Squad Leader, even if we can capture the Female Titan, they might destroy the whole city first!" He commented on the collateral damage Stohess was suffering from this Titan battle.

"We do it, regardless. That was Erwin's decision. Be ready to capture her." Hange reaffirmed the madness that was ensuing.

"Understood." Moblit responded as you all continued to wait and see the result of this battle.

Time passed and the sun began to set as the light of day became dimmer upon Stohess. You and the rest of the scouts flew through the air before landing on a building nearby where Annie and Eren were staring each other down once more waiting to see who would make the first move. The district was covered in fire and destruction and the stench of blood filled the air as the climax of their battle seemed to be approaching. Making the first move, Eren roared as he charged towards Annie with a right punch, but Annie hardened her right foot and shin before sending a low kick to his right leg, ripping his lower leg off his body as the shockwave shook through the connecting streets. Eren stumbled for a moment before pushing himself off the ground and raising his right fist and making Annie guard as his fist slammed against her palm that was guarding her face, sending her sliding back as her cheek caved in a bit and began to steam. Annie seemed to be in some sort of shock and remained stuck for a few moments before standing straight once more and staring back at Eren. Leaping off the ground like a wild animal, Eren roared as he charged towards her once more, but Annie seemed to have had enough as she covered her nape with her hardened left hand and kicked him with her harden leg as her shin slammed against his face and he crashed into the building next to him. There was a huge explosion of dust and wind as you all covered yourselves from the shockwave before growing shocked eyes as Annie's leg was shoved into Eren's mouth and he struggled to get up as his teeth dug into her crystalized skin. Annie raised her right fist and hardened it as she held Eren's head against her leg with her left hand, and smashed it down on his head while screeching seemingly in anger. Blood flew in the air as Eren's head was being deformed and turned to mush and in one last angry screech, she smalled down hard on Eren's deformed head and face as all movement from him ceased and she pulled away to look at his limp body. You were frozen in disbelief over how mutilated Eren looked and turned slowly towards Annie as she ran off for the walls once more.

"Annie...!" You mustered the remaining strength you had left and gave chase after her as the rest of the scouts followed suit.

While following after her, there was a sudden crash that came from behind you and when you turned around, you gasped when you saw Eren's Titan charging after Annie faster than he ever moved before. His body was smoldering and some of his muscles seemed enflamed and on fire as his eyes shined a shiny blue glare and he roared while hopping after Annie. The heat could be felt all the way where you were as you flew off to the side as Eren leaped onto Annie and tackled her to the ground as they stopped just in front of the wall. You landed next to the rest of the scouts and waited to see what would happen next.

"That's..." Hange could barely form any word she could think of as you heard another voice.

"Eren!" You turned around to see Mikasa had recovered and rejoined you all in the fight and tried to go to Eren.

"Stop!" You grabbed onto Mikasa's arm as Hange also stepped in front of her.

"Don't! Right now, we don't know if Eren can recognize you..." Hange said as Mikasa turned back in worry as the dust cleared and Eren was latched onto Annie's back.

Eren's Titan body was on fire and emitted a great amount of heat as he held on with his only right hand and Annie was in complete disbelief of what had come over him. Steam exhaled out of Eren's mouth when he roared and Annie tried to get up and push him away, but he wrapped his last leg around her waist reached back around to grab her by the face as she was too concerned using both hands to cover her nape. With unbelievable crushing power, Eren used his hand and squeezed tight around her face as her eyeballs almost popped out and blood exploded from her head, coating the entire area they were in. The MP's who were escorting Erwin away had also came into the area and were forced to witness the horrific sight while Erwin stared closely to watch who would win. Hot winds blew through the area as Annie yelled in pain while trying to get Eren's hand off of her. Annie leaned forward and delivered an incredibly powerful elbow to the side of his head before shrimping down and ducking under his hand before kicking him away and sending him into a the building near you all. You all stumbled to keep your balance as Annie hardened her fingers and with a deformed and almost deflated face due to how much blood her head lost, she ran ahead as Eren forced himself out of the building he was in and gave chase as Annie leaped onto the wall, digging her fingers into the stone.

"The wall!" Jean yelled in shock of her way of escape.

"Does she intend to climb over it!?" Hange and the rest of you moved into action as Annie began her painful climb up the wall.

Eren had managed to catch up to Annie and jumped up to grab her by the legs as he tried to hold on and pull her back down. Going so far as to bite into her leg with his teeth, Annie was even more scared of this and used her free leg to kick Eren off as she ripped her right leg off and sent Eren back to the ground and climbed as fast as she could. 

"Not good! At this rate, she's going to get away!" Armin yelled n despair before they were all shocked when you and Mikasa flew off after her.

"I won't let that happen!" Mikasa yelled while zipping up to her.

"Annie!" You yelled as the two of you flew up above her.

Annie looked in terror as you two swung around before using your anchors to get a good path to her hands as you and Mikasa flew down and cut her fingers at the part that was unhardened. You and Mikasa both spun in the air before falling down with your anchors still attached to the wall as Annie began to fall as well while you two landed atop her face. She only had shock in her eyes as you two stood at each of her cheekbones and stared down at her.

"Annie..." You muttered her name as she watched a tear fall from your eye and land just below her eyelid.

"...Fall." Mikasa said as the two of you stopped your anchors and you both dangled in air as Annie could only stare up at the sky in utter defeat.

"Annie Leonhart...I was wrong..." You thought as you watched Annie crash into the ground and Eren pounce on top of her. "I'm not strong...I don't think I ever will be...I can't even muster the courage to kill you myself..." You watched as Eren raised his hand and punched her head with so much power, it was sent flying off along with her arm as the detached limb landed in front of Erwin who never looked away from the sight. "I don't know if I'll ever love anyone again after you...and everyone in the world probably hates you right now, but...I think deep down in my heart, no matter what..." You thought as you watched with depressed eyes as Eren leaned down to bite into her nape. "I will..." You closed your eyes and looked away as Eren leaned down to tear off the flesh that covered Annie. 

"Crap..He'll eat the girl inside, too!" Hange yelled in shock.

"Eren, stop!" Jean yelled in an attempt to stop him.

"Eren!" Mikasa looked with great worry.

With one powerful bite, Eren ripped off the flesh that covered Annie in her nape, but when she was revealed, Eren froze in shock when he saw tears stream from her face. Everyone stared in confusion of the sudden silence among the two Titans, but that silence was broken when steam and a blinding blue light erupted from Annie. Everyone covered themselves, but grew shocked when they saw Annie and Eren's flesh suddenly infusing with one another. Eren roared while trying to rip himself away before a hardening noise could be heard and he looked to see Annie engulf herself in crystal. Mikasa went down to try and help him before he something bad happened to him, but before she could, two figures soared straight down and cut open Eren's nape and everyone was surprised when they saw you and Levi standing on top of Eren.

"Don't eat a valuable witness, you idiot." Levi said in annoyance of Eren.

"Sorry, Captain, he tends to act on impulse sometimes..." You trailed off as you grabbed Eren by his shirt and ripped him out of his Titan before leaping off as you.

After some time had passed and everyone was able to regroup together, you all stared at the two giant skeletons that were slowly evaporating into the air, and you were looked over to see Armin and Mikasa holding Eren in their arms. You turned back around though and looked down at Annie who was in a hardened chrysalis of sorts and placed your hand on top of it as you closed your eyes.

"No matter what...I will never abandon you." You thought as the rest of the scouts came around to see what had happened to Annie.

"Move, Y/N!" Jean yelled as you looked up to see him coming towards Annie with his blade. 

"It's useless. We can't get to her." You said as you just stepped aside and watched Jean continue ahead, stabbing at the crystal as his blade broke over and over.

"Damn it! What is this!? We've come this far, and you still won't say a word, Annie!? Come out! Come out and finish what you started! Hey, this isn't fair...Annie! Annie!" Jean yelled as he raised his broken blade to try again.

"Stop it." A hand grabbed onto Jean's shoulder as he turned with a frustrated look on his face to see Levi behind him. "It's useless." Levi repeated as Jean just lowered his hand in defeat.

"Use the wires to make a net! We'll tie it up and carry it underground." Hange came forward and ordered everyone.

"Roger!" The scouts responded before getting to work as Hange stared at Annie with a nervous look.

"If we can't get any information from Annie, what do we have to show for all this? We have caused so many deaths. And yet, despite all those lives lost, so many mysteries remain. What did we accomplish?" Hange thought as everyone went to whatever they could to help wherever needed.

You walked away from Annie as she was hauled off to be taken underground, and you went over to Eren and the other two as you knelt down in front of your Titan friend. 

"You okay?" You asked Eren.

"Yeah..." Eren said before noticing the sad look in your eyes. "What about you?" He asked as you were surprised by his question. "Are you okay?" He asked as you just smiled weakly and placed a hand on his shoulder. 

"Yeah...I'm fine." You said before the pattering of footsteps surrounded you four as you looked to see MP's standing around you. "Now we just have to figure out what to tell these guys, I guess." You said as you sat down on the ground and exhaled in exhaustion. "What a time to be a soldier, huh?" You thought as you laid down on the ground and stared up at the dimly lit sky above. 

After the entire Titan incident came to an end, you were all taken to a military hospital to receive treatment, and while you and the rest of your friends were fine minus a few scratches and bruises, Eren was in need of bedrest. You were all gathered in his room wearing civilian clothing, with Mikasa at his bedside, Jean leaning against the wall near the window,  Armin standing in the middle of the room, and you were sat in a chair near Jean in silence. Slowly, Eren's eyes opened as Mikasa took notice of this and sat closer.

"Eren..." Mikasa spoke as he slowly turned towards you all. "Are you doing okay?" She asked him as he turned over and sat up in bed.

"Yeah...I've healed so fast, it's almost creepy." Eren said before remembering Annie. "I heard that Annie's still frozen." He said.

"Yeah." Mikasa confirmed the information.

"Damn it! We got nothing from that massive operation!" Jean said in frustration over the little result of their huge operation.

"She was willing to go that far to protect the information." Armin commented on how willing she was to make sure her secret was kept.

"Yeah, she got away from us." Jean said.

"Eren's the one who allowed it." Armini said as this caught everyone of your attention. "Right, Eren? Without that one instant..." Armin said as he was referring to the moment Eren hesitated to eat Annie.

"Yeah, you're right. I couldn't do it." Eren said as he remembered her crying face. "When I saw Annie's face, I froze." Eren admitted as everyone fell silent again before the door to the room suddenly opened and an MP came into view.

"Armin Alert. Jean Kirschtein. Y/N L/N. It's time for your questioning." The officer said.

"Yes, sir." Armin said as you got to your feet and stood up from the chair.

"They're starting with us?" Jean said as you all turned to Eren.

"Okay, see you later." Armin said as the three of you left the room.

"Yeah." Eren replied as you went to close the door.

"Eren..." You spoke as this caught his attention and he could only see the right side of your body from the door. "...thank you." You said before closing the door as he was confused by this, but you thanked him for not killing Annie.

While walking behind Armin and Jean, the three of you walked through he military hospital to head over to questioning, and while on the way, Jean spoke up.

"It's impossible for me to understand. Abandon your humanity to overcome a monster. That's the only way to win?" Jean spoke of the concept Armin spoke of before.

"It's one possible way that humanity might defeat the Titans. I think Eren can do it." Armin said as this surprised Jean.

"Tell me...Even if he did become that monster, and destroyed all the Titans...Would that really be a victory for humanity?" Jean asked as the three of you stopped when a feather fell in front of you three and you turned to see birds flying off in the distance and stared at them before they disappeared over the wall as that was all you could look at now.

"It won't be easy to overcome..." Armin said as you remembered the kind of hell awaiting you all outside the walls.

"He has to do it." You said as they turned around towards you and were surprised by the cold and serious look you had on your face. "We all have to. If we ever wanna survive this hell we call life." You said as you walked pass them and moved forward with life. "I won't stand around moping anymore. Annie will be the last person to make me feel like this. If a monster is what I need to become in order to protect the people I love..." You thought as your mind filled with your family and friends that you still have in your life. "...Then I'll become the devil himself if it means saving their lives." You thought as you chose to discard the weaker and emotional side of yourself, choosing to be cold and heartless so that you could grow stronger and set in motion your attack against the Titans, and put an end to their reign over humanity.
