"So, Dr Wilbur! we have your first job right here!" The professor rapped on his papers, beaming at the naive man in front of him. Wilbur took the booklet and examined it closely. He was supposed to watch over a young blaze-born named 'Sapnap'. Interesting name choice. "Off you pop! he doesn't appreciate being left alone."

Dr Wilbur sighed and made his way to the child's room after grabbing more food for Sapnap. He opened the door softly, as to not alert the dormant subject. His efforts were useless as the child sprang up, smelling food. Sapnap made grabby hands at the hunk of meat, mouth seemingly watering. Wilbur gingerly handed the food to the hyperactive child.

Sapnap took the food and gave a polite bow before devouring it almost whole. After he finished, Wilbur awkwardly patted him on the head, careful to avoid burning hot horns. Sapnap let out a purring noise before attempting to communicate. Wilbur took note of this before bending down to try and make out his garbled mess of a sentence. 

It seemed as though Sapnap was thanking him, judging on the bows and the magma-filled grins he received.

Wilbur brought out his clipboard and examined Sapnap's cognitive thought. He brought out a simple shape puzzle and asked if Sapnap could solve it. The blaze-born nodded and puffed out his chest, confident in his abilities. 

Wilbur was starting to like this cocky little gremlin. He booped Sapnap's nose and immediately regretted it when he sneezed minuscule flecks of sizzling lava, effectively setting his puzzle ablaze. Sapnap giggled as Wilbur sighed in irritation.

This subject was going to be the death of him.
