Black crows call from treetops

Stop, listen to bird talk

As they greet dawn's colors

Take walk to floating dock

Ponder by lake water

Let thoughts slip from your mind

Calm dark inner turmoil

A gift to self is kind

Minnows dart in shallows

A turtle head appears

Checks surface surroundings

Then quickly disappears

With your mind you follow

A dip into still lake

Feel caress of water

As tranquil thoughts awake

Watch turtle as he glides

Stirs mud, leaves murky trail

Watch fish peek from green plants

Let peaceful thoughts prevail

Return to wooden dock

Soft breeze ripples through mirror lake

White clouds are drifting in

Lakeview soothes inner ache

A blue green dragonfly

Her wings shine with sunlight

Hovers near long bare branch

And checks out landing site

She sits on tip of branch

A silent wait for date

And as the minutes pass

She scans the sky for mates

Remember when your path

Took unexpected bend

And then there was a wait

For goals to reach an end

Like blue green dragonfly

Look into future sky

Sometimes you need to wait

Before your heart can fly

Ponder by lake water

Let soul find quiet space

Let nature show the way

To find path's ideal pace
