Chapter Twelve

~Declan~

Today is my birthday so I am officially 365 years old today. Which is quite fascinating. I never thought that I would be this old. One day I hope to be 1000 years old. “WAKE UP YOU OLD MAN!” Theodore and Vanessa jumped on my bed. “Shut up! It is too early for this!” I shouted back. It’s early for a Saturday. It’s been 4 days since I chose Theodore over Aiden. Aiden understood completely. But I could see that he was upset. Theodore leaned down and kissed me. “Get your ass up!” He shouted at me. Theodore’s language has approved a lot since he came back. He has not been here long now he talks better than I do. I can say he catches on fast. “I took the day off of work to spend it with you. So be excited.” Vanessa laughs. I laughed and pulled Theodore down to me. “I love you.” I said and kissed him. “Come on! Get your ass down into the kitchen because I made breakfast.” Vanessa demanded. I sighed and got out of the bed walking down the stairs with Theodore right behind me. I walked into the kitchen and pancakes, waffles and toast was on the counter and in the cups are blood. Oh my, this is my favorite. I smiled and walked over to the counter. I grabbed the stuff and walked over to the dining table so we all could eat. We sat down and I drunk a glass of blood. Then I poured another glass. “What are we doing today?” I asked. “Well tonight we are going to the diner because that is where your party is. Shaylee and Lyla are taking over that. They are like taking care of everything.” Vanessa informed me. I smiled and nodded. “But until that party tonight, we are going to do something.” Theodore told me. “And what is that?” I asked seductively. “You will see my love.” He smiled. I smiled and continued to eat. We laughed and talked about everything that happened in the past birthdays. I love how happy all of us are. I couldn’t be happier.

Theodore and I are in the car driving towards the woods. “Where are we going?” I asked. “Just keep driving and Shh.” He demanded. I just giggled and continued to drive. “Turn right on this road up here.” He pointed out. “There is no rude Theo.” I pointed out. “Then we walk.” He smiled and got out of the car. We walked out of the car and walked into the woods. We walked for about 15 minutes and he stopped. “Remember when we buried something that meant a lot to us when we were 14?” Theodore asked me. I can’t believe he remembered that. I barely even remembered. “Yeah.” I responded. “This is where it is at.” He smiled at me. “How did you remember where it was?” I asked in shock. “It’s a witch thing.” He laughed. I laughed and started digging. We reached an old wooden box with roots growing around it. Theodore and I looked at each other and looked back down at the box. I grabbed the box and opened it. Inside was a necklace with a stone on the bottom. Which is called an Adder stone. Adder stones are used for witches to make them stronger. I handed it to Theodore. I grabbed the next thing which was a ring. The ring was made of silver and on top was a black stone. It was my mother’s ring. My mother gave it to me when I was thirteen and told me to hold on to this and never let it go. I smiled and put the ring onto my finger. My mom told me this legend once about this ring. She said that it would protect me from wolfs. I had no idea what she meant back then but now I do. It’s supposed to be surrounded in mountain ash, wolfsbane, and mistletoe. I guess they are very dangerous to a wolf. There is only one way to find that out and that is by going near Lyla with it. I smiled back at the memory and walked over to Theodore. “Thank you.” I smiled and gave him a kiss. If it wasn’t for him, I would never remembered this. We walked back to the car holding hands. We heard branches crack from behind us. We turned around instantly. I Held onto Theodore. I tried to listen for another heartbeat. Someone else is here with us. “Boo.” Said a girl’s voice from behind me. We jumped and turned around. She starts to laugh. This girl is actually pure beauty. She has more natural beauty then I have ever seen a girl have in my entire her skin sparkled. She has curly brown hair and animals are surrounding her. Like squirrels, foxes, birds, etc. We just stared at her. “I did not think we got witches and vampires out here in these parts of the woods. But I guess I was wrong.” She smiled. Theodore and I looked at each other. “I am not going to hurt you. My name is Emily.” She puts out her hand. I reached for her hand and shook it. “You are the Vampire I see. “ She pointed out. “How do you know?” Theodore asked. “I am a nymph. And I know everything that enters these parts of the woods.” She informed. A nymph? That explains her beauty. But I didn’t think they existed. I just read it in a book that they are rare. That can explain the storms lately. “You are the one that has been making the weather all out of whack?” I asked. “Indeed you are correct. When I am upset, angry, or having sex, I will and can make it storm.” She informed. This is amazing. I never met a nymph before. “Do you live out here?” I asked her. “Yes.” She smiles. “Why don’t you come stay with me and get away from all the sleeping on the ground. And there is woods behind my home so that will help. I won’t bite. But although my sister may if you pissed her off. “Your sister is Vanessa? The Sherriff?” She asked me. I nodded. “Oh yes. I stayed at her home before. Her home was quite the experience. But I love my home. The woods is my home. I cannot abandoned that.” Emily explains. “Come on. I bet you are dying to get a shower, and sleep in a normal bed.” I gestured. She stares at me for a minute and smiles. “Fine.” She says walking to our car. “Here take my jacket.” Theodore gave her his jacket. I just now notice she was naked. Of course. I never pay attention to a girl when she is naked. I don’t roll that way. I think boobs and a vagina is disgusting. Like so many problems right there. “I like your car.” She smiles and gets into the back. I started the car and took off back to home. “How old are you?” She asked us both. “364 years old.” We informed. “How is a witch that old?” She asked Theodore. “Well Emily, see the vampire that turned Declan here, killed me hundreds of years ago. And no I am back from the dead.” He laughed. I rolled my eyes to his smart ass remark. He has caught on to peoples talk. Emily reaches up and turns the radio. “Excuse me, my car and I deal with the radio.” I informed. She turns her head to me and smiles. “Does it look like I car?” She said and blinked trying to get hear away. She turns the radio on to Iggy Azalea. “You have a good taste in music for a girl living in the woods.” I said sarcastically. “Why thank you Declan.” She smiles and sits back down. We pulled into my drive way and got out. “Vanessa! We have a guest!” I shouted. She walked in from the kitchen and her jaw drops. “EMILY!” She shouts running to her and hugging her. “What are you doing here?” Vanessa asked. “I decided to move back into town and into the woods. I was up in the state park in Washington. They have tons of trees there so it was perfect for me. Then I wanted to move back here after a few years. I like it here. It’s cozy.” Emily informed. Vanessa grabs her hand and runs her upstairs. Well alright. I laughed in my head and the doorbell rings. I walked to the door and opened it. It was Lyla and Shaylee. “Hey.” I smiled at them. “Happy birthday. I hope you are ready for the diner because we are leaving in twenty.” Lyla says and walks in. “Hey there Dec, happy birthday.” Shaylee says and hugs me. “Thanks guys.” I laughed and shut the door. “Why is there a naked girl on the stairs?” Lyla asked. “Really Emily? This is not the woods. Put on some dang clothes.” I shouted. “I was just giving Theodore his jacket back. Fuck off.” Emily shouts back and thunder began to crack. “Stop that!” I shouted at her. She smiled and made it thunder even louder. I rolled my eyes and walked away. “How is she doing that?” Shaylee asked me. “She is a nymph and we found her in the woods today.” I pointed out. I began to think about this ring. “Lyla come here.” I said putting the ring on her skin. She screams in pain. “What the hell?!” She shouts. She tried to throw a punch at me but she couldn’t hit me. There was a shield protecting me it seemed like. “What the…” Lyla asked. I showed them the ring my mother gave me. “My mother gave me this when I was 13 and said that it will protect me from wolfs. I never believed it until now.” I laughed and walked away. “I need one of those.” Shaylee laughs. “That fucking hurt when he touched me with that thing!” Lyla screeches. We all laugh. “Let’s go to a party!” I shout and we walk out of the house.
