Chapter One

~Declan~

~~1668~~

 “Declan! Vanessa!” Yelled mother. “Coming mother!” Vanessa Yelled. “So have you thought about that boy lately?” Vanessa asked. “Vanessa, you know what our people would do if they see me even looking at a guy? You know that being that way is wrong. But I can’t help it. It’s just the way I am.” I explained. “Declan, you know you can be with anyone. But you are right, it is wrong to them. But to us, it is ok. So just be with him secretly. You know you love him. He even told you he loved you also. But you got scared and ran.” Vanessa said. We walked through the corn field on our way back to the house. “Theodore is really hot. Just be with him and quit being a fool!” Vanessa screeched. I smiled and walked into the house. “Hey mother.” I said and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Dinner is ready. Please prepare the table and light the fire.” Mother demanded to us. “Yes ma’am.” Vanessa and I said at the same time. I lit the fire pit while Vanessa set the table. “We are having company this evening. The Coopers are coming. So set more spaces Vanessa.” Mother told her. Crap, Theodore is coming over. I looked up at Vanessa and she winked at me. That butt. She must have done that. There was a knock at our door. “Amelia! Samuel!” Mother and father greeted Theodore’s parents. I looked up at Theodore and his soft black hair and his hard cheek bones started to turn me on. He looked over at me and smiled. They walked in and sat at the table. Vanessa and I sat across from Theodore and his parents. While our mother brought in the food, Theodore and I kept glancing over at each other. Vanessa kept glancing over also. Vanessa and I are very close. We are brother and sister but I see her as like a best friend. “Declan, have you enrolled into the war?” Amelia asked. “No ma’am. I don’t think I am going to.” I smiled at her. “Really? Theodore isn’t either. Maybe you two can work together in the future.” Amelia smiled at me. “I would sure like that.” I smiled back. Amelia is British. She came over from London by boat. Her family is huge. She and her family built this huge ship that took years. Her family started when she was only two years old. And they finished when she was fifteen. Now she is thirty six and her husband, Samuel, he is forty five. Almost nine years older. Her parents wanted her to marry a prince. But Samuel was a carpenter. He build boats for the governor and homes. I am glad she did not marry a prince then I wouldn’t have Theodore. We finished up dinner and Theodore and I went out into the corn field. Vanessa wondered off with Theodore’s older sister Carrie. “I need to talk to you.” I said nervously. “Of course Declan, go ahead.” He said as we sat in the middle of the corn field. “I love you too.” I smiled at him. His smile grew bigger. “What changed your mind?” He asked still smiling. “Well Vanessa told me to stop being a fool and go for it. I always liked you. I just got scared when you said that.” I explained. He smiled at me. “May I kiss you?” He asked. I started to blush. I nodded a several times. He leaned in and put his hands onto my face. He stared at me into the eyes and he kissed me. I fell into his lips. His soft pink lips turned me on so much. I was hungry for him. I kissed back instantly. He laid me down on the ground and kissed me more. I think Vanessa called this second base. I am not sure. She is way smarter than me at this. He licked my bottom lip wanting access. I opened up my mouth so he can put his tongue in. I sucked on his tongue and he let out a soft moan inside my mouth. We stopped kissing and tried to catch our breath. We smiled at each other. “Theodore! Time to go!” His mother shouted. “Can we meet at our secret spot tonight?” Theodore asked. “Yes.” I smiled at him. We walked back to the house acting like nothing happened. “See you tomorrow Amelia!” My mother hugged her. “You too Eva.” My father and his father shook hands and they all left. “Would you two mind fetching some more fire wood?” My father asked Vanessa and I. “Yes father.” We responded and walked outside. “So… What happened?” Vanessa asked me. “We kissed. Well, it was more like a make out. Like you told me.” I informed her. “Did you tell him you loved him?” She asked. “Yes I did.” I responded. She smiles and we kept talking about kissing and other stuff. We gather the fire wood into the barrel and started walking back to the house. “We are meeting tonight.” I blurted out. “Is my younger brother ready to make love?” She asked me sarcastically. I shrugged. She giggles and we walk back into the house putting firewood into the pit. “We are going to bed. You two be quiet.” Mother and father demanded. “Night mother, night father.” Vanessa and I said and gave them a kiss on the cheek. “Wait an hour, and then you can go.” Vanessa told me. “I am leaving too. Because I am meeting Benjamin.” Vanessa added. Benjamin is Vanessa’s boyfriend. Well, our parents and his parents don’t like each other. So they couldn’t see each other anymore. But they still do. They are really cute together. No one can split those two apart.

“Shh.” Vanessa whispered to me as we walk down stairs and out the door. Soon as we got outside we giggled and ran to through the corn field. Vanessa and Benjamin’s secret place is also Theodore and I’s secret place. The secret place is this old abandoned house. Theodore and I always go into the basement while they go up to the top floor. As we got there I seen Theodore talking to Benjamin. I smiled at them and I ran to the basement, Theodore following after me. He caught me and tackled me to the ground. I laughed playfully and he turned me over so he was on top of me. I smiled at him and he started to kiss me. He untucked my shirt and put his hands along my hard stomach. I run my fingers through his soft black hair. I took Theodore’s shirt off. He is so muscular. Really muscular. He took my shirt off while I took his pants off. We stared at each other and smiled. I took off my pants and he got back on top of me. “May I make love to you Declan?” He asked me. “Please.” I said hungrily. He glided his shaft around my entrance and teased me. He started to kiss me. “I am ready.” I moaned. He put his shaft in and my eyes watered to pain. He was so big. Really big. I moaned loudly and he covered my mouth. He went slowly so I can get used to the pain. “Faster.” I moaned. He nodded and went faster. I dug my fingers into his chest and kept moaning. I felt so much electricity as we made love. “Oh god Declan, I think I am going too…” He started to say and came inside me. He pulled out and lied on the floor next to me. “I never felt so much love in my entire life.” Theodore explained. I haven’t either. “I love you.” We said at the same time. We both giggled. Hours passed and it was almost three am. I was about to fall asleep when Vanessa hollered down the stairs saying it was time to go. Theodore and I got dressed. “I will see you tomorrow?” He asked me. “Of course.” I said and kissed him. He smiled at me and walked up stairs. “By Benjamin.” I smiled at him. He waved and left with Theodore. Theodore and Benjamin live right next to each other. Which was a good thing for Vanessa and I. We walked back into the woods making it to the corn field. “Did you guys make love?” She asked me. “I smiled at her. She smiled back. “Did you like it?” She asked. “It hurt a lot at first but then it felt so good.” I explained. She giggled. We made it back to the house and went into our rooms. I only have four hours until I had to get up. I sighed and rolled over onto my bed thinking about Theodore. Oh sweet Theodore. I said to myself. I smiled and fell asleep.

“Declan, time to get up.” Mother said from my door. I got up out of the bed and went outside to use the bathroom. I wonder in the future they would have homes with bathrooms inside. I hate walking outside shirtless to go pee. Defiantly when it rains. But California gets really hot. And so do I. I walked back inside getting dressed. “Morning mother.” I gave her a kiss. “Vanessa and I are running into town for some things. Want to join?” Asked mother. “I would love to join my mother and sister to town.” I smiled at her. She smiled back. My mother and I are really close as well. I tell her everything. Besides the Theodore part. She can’t know about that. I finished eating breakfast and left on the carriage with my mother and Vanessa. Mother and Vanessa are talking about some event coming up in town. I had no idea what they were talking about. I just couldn’t stop thinking about Theodore. We made it too town and people are just laughing and talking. The town is a bunch of little shelf’s people made and little shelter things that people buy and sell stuff. A lot of farmers sell their stuff here and that is where we get mostly all of our food. I walked with my mother and Vanessa while they got some food and I see Theodore with his mother. They smile at us and walk over. “Amelia!” My mother says and hugs her. Those two are like best friends. I swear. Theodore smiles at me and I smile back. “Can Theodore, Vanessa and I go walk around?” I asked mother. “Of course! Go play!” Our mother’s shewed us off. “Hi Theodore.” Vanessa blinks rapidly. I rolled my eyes and Theodore laughed. “She knows doesn’t she?” Theodore asked me. I nodded. “I know everything Theodore. You should know that by now.” She says sarcastically. Theodore giggles. We walked around for about an hour when our mother called for us. “See you tonight?” Theodore asked. I nodded. We went back home and we did some work around the house until our father got home so we could eat dinner. After we ate dinner, Vanessa and I went to go get firewood. “Are you coming with me tonight?” I asked. “Of course!” Vanessa smiled at me. I smiled back. Few hours passed and we sneaked out and left for the abandoned house. “Are you and Benjamin going to leave and get married?” I asked her. “I am not leaving here until you leave. I can’t leave you behind. I would never.” She says and wraps her arm around me. I smiled and wrapped my arm around her as well. “What if all four of us run away together?” I asked. “Why would we do that?” She asked me. “Then all of us can start over and be together.” I explained. “That’s a good idea.  But we couldn’t do that to mother and father.” She says. That is true. Really true. We heard something in the woods and jumped. “Who’s there?” I shouted. We gulped. “Run.” Vanessa demands and we run to the abandoned house. We see Theodore and Benjamin talking to each other. “What’s wrong?” Benjamin asked us. “We heard something and ran.” I explained trying to catch my breath. Theodore and Benjamin laugh. I rolled my eyes and walked down into the basement. I sat on the floor against the wall and so did Theodore. “What’s wrong?” He asked. “I could have sworn I heard something out in those woods. Like footsteps.” I informed.  He grabs my hand to comfort me. “Everything is going to be ok.” He tried to comfort me even more. I leaned into his chest and hugged him. “I love you Theodore Cooper.” I smiled at him. “I love you Declan Bryant.” He said and kissed me. “Can we get married?” He blurted out through my lips. I stopped kissing him and looked up. “What do you mean? Like are you proposing?” I asked. “Yes I am proposing. I mean not right away of course. But in the future. We could be engaged for years and when we are ready to get married, we will.” He explained. I smiled so big at him. “Then yes, of course I will marry you.” I said and kissed him.

He glided his fingers down my back as we cuddled on the floor. Making love has gotten so much easier after doing it the first time. The second time was easier and it felt so much better. “Time to go!” Vanessa shouted. “Love you.” I said and kissed him. We walked out and went back home. “I have to tell you something.” We said at the same time. We both giggled. “You first.” Vanessa gestures. “Theodore asked me to marry him.” I smiled at her. Her smile got so big. “Benjamin asked me to marry him also!” She shouts. We both cheered. “They must have been planning that.” Vanessa laughs. I nodded. We walked quietly back into the house and my mother was sitting on the table looking at us. Our eyes got real wide. “Where were you?” Mother asked. “Um…. I… We….” I started to say but mother interrupted. “You two were seeing you boyfriends wasn’t you.” She asked me. My heart literally broke into pieces. How did she know? “Don’t tell your father. And you, Declan. Liking another man is wrong. But I see how happy you have been lately. So if you are happy, I’m happy.” She says and hugs me. I smiled big and hugged her back. “I love you mother.” I said and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Go to sleep.” She smiles and walks back into her room. I get into my boxers and covered up. This couldn’t get any better. I blushed. Soon enough I fell asleep.

Vanessa and I was walking to the abandoned home when we heard that noise again. We just ignored it and kept walking. Then a person popped up in front of us. We turned around and ran but he was already there. We ran for the abandoned house as fast as we could. We ran inside and shut the door. “Where is Benjamin and Theodore?” Vanessa asked. I looked around and seen both of them lying on the floor. “Oh my god! Vanessa!” I shout for her. Theodore is covering his neck. “What happened?” I asked. “Vampires…. They are real.” He mumbled. “Benjamin is dead.” Vanessa cried. “Stay with me Theodore. Do not die on me!” I cry. “I…. I… Love… You…” He said and he stopped breathing. “Theodore!” I screamed. I cried into his chest. Vanessa grabs onto me sobbing and we hug each other. Something hit me over my head and everything went black.

I woke up with a huge headache. My neck was hurting, my teeth was hurting, my gums, everything was hurting. I look over and see Vanessa. I scoot over to her. “What happened?” I asked. “Well, well…. Look what we have here… Vampires in transition….” Said a shirtless pale guy standing in the abandoned house. “What did you do?!” I shout at him. “I turned you two into vampires. This is my home and I thought that you two would be a good fit for a vampire. The other two….. They was just holding you back.” He smiled. I started to cry from the pain in my mouth. “My name is Fritz. And you two are now vampires.” He said and laughed. Vampires…. How? Why?
