Chapter Four

~Declan~

A few weeks have passed since I arrived back into my home town. Tonight is the first game of the season. And honestly, I am pretty excited. I have been practicing extremely hard and I am actually falling in love with lacrosse. Lacrosse is a really fun sport to play. You take your anger and put it all into the sport. Although I don’t have anger at all, makes it a little difficult. Well when someone makes me mad, then I do have anger. But that is the only time I get mad. After tonight’s game Aiden, Lyla, Shaylee and I are going out to celebrate. We already know that we are going to win. I mean there is two really good players on the team. Me and Aiden, obviously. I went home waiting for the time to leave to head back to the school for the game. It is our first home game so everyone is going to be there. Including Vanessa. She is actually in my room right now laying on the bed with me staring up at the ceiling. “Don’t hurt anyone tonight. We don’t need the whole town on our ass wondering what is with you.” Vanessa explained. We all know what happened back then when people found out we was vampires. Our parents tried to get us away so the town wouldn’t kill us. But the Vampire that turned us wanted us to stay and fight. We wasn’t home that night. And that is when the vampire set our house on fire. Our parents was inside. I couldn’t believe that he did that to us. First it was killing our love of our life, second was turning us into vampires, third was killing our parents, and fourth I ended up dating the guy and we made love several of times. I didn’t know it was him that did that to my parents at the time. I didn’t find out until he told me. He wanted to be honest with me so we could have a happy life together. To be honest I was not happy with him. I wanted Theodore. I couldn’t have him because Fritz killed him. He killed everyone that I truly loved. I knew Fritz when I was a younger boy. He was my father’s helper when he built stuff. He always watched me. Fritz said he was 29 at that time like my mother. But he was actually 18. Fritz was a really beautiful guy. But the inside was hideous. He regretted what he did to Vanessa and I. I wanted to believe him but I couldn’t forgive him. So I told him to leave and never see me again. If he truly loved me, he would leave. And that was 175 years ago. I never seen or spoken to him since. He didn’t deserve me. Not after what he did.

I pull into the school parking lot and parked. Aiden pulled up at the same time as I did. I got out of my car and walked across the parking lot heading for the locker room. “DECLAN!” Aiden shouted. I turned around to face him. Then boom. I was hit by a car. I flew over the top of the car and landed on my back. Son of a bitch that hurt like a mother fucker. I grunted in pain. “Oh my god! I am so sorry! I didn’t see you! Are you ok?” The old lady shouted at me. She is old. What the hell is she doing driving? “Declan!” Aiden shouted running over to me. He helped me up. “Are you ok?” He asked me in worry. “I’m fine.” I lied. My leg was broken. I have to snap it back in place. Thank god Vanessa pulled up. “Declan!” She shouted running over to me. “I am so sorry. I did not see him.” The old lady cried. I eye browed Vanessa. She rolled her eyes. She turned Aiden and The old lady around talking to them. I made sure no one was looking and that I couldn’t hear any heart beats beside theirs. I snapped my leg back in place. “I’m fine. And it’s ok ma’am. You didn’t see me. Just try to pay attention.” I smiled at her and gave her a hug. “Oh you are just the sweetest young man.” She hugged back. The old lady drove off and Vanessa and Aiden walked over to me. “Are you ok?” Vanessa asked. “Yeah, I was just hit at a low speed. It wasn’t going to cause any damage how slow she was driving.” I laughed. “Get my brother inside their and make sure he does not do anything stupid.” Vanessa demanded Aiden. He laughed and nodded. “Did that even hurt?” Aiden asked. “It did. I just lied so my sister wouldn’t do anything to that old lady.” I smiled at Aiden. “I took off my shirt and was about to put on my shirt when Aiden stopped me. “Your arm is bleeding.” He pointed out. “Come on.” He rolled his eyes and walked me to the bathroom. He got a wet paper towel and wiped off the blood. His touch shot electricity through my body. I never felt that for a very long time. Not since Theodore. I stared at his face. He is just so beautiful I just want to kiss him. He looked up at me and laughed. “Quit checking me out.” Aiden laughed and stood me up. “I wasn’t.” I informed. “Then why was you staring at me like that?” He asked angrily. “Aiden.” I said pushing him against the wall. He groaned. I got close to him and whispered into his ear. “You are not my type.” I leaned back up and patted his head. I turned back around walking back into the locker room. I had to go away. When I was that close to his neck I wanted to bite him and drink him. I couldn’t do that to Aiden. I am stronger than that. And I always have been since Fritz taught me how to be strong and ignore the urge for blood. I put on my Jersey and gear. I headed outside and sat on the bench waiting for the game to start. I am starting line. Aiden usually is but he is right behind me. Coach’s place consist of Aiden and I doing most of the plays to win. Which is a good thing because the rest of the other players suck somewhat compared to Aiden and I.  The coach tells me to go up to first line. The guy in front of me giggles. “You scrawny mother fucker won’t get passed me.” He laughed. The ref blows a whistle and I grab the ball and shove him to the ground. I toss it over to Aiden and He charges at two guys and throws it back at me. I run and pass it to another guy on my team and he passes it back. I throw it into the goal. Everyone cheered. “Good throw.” A guy said on the other team and ran off. Hmmm…. Someone is interested. Time to show off. Aiden threw the ball to me and four guys charged after me. I ran past them and threw the ball into the goal. The crowd cheered again. “Is that all you got?” He asked me. “Who is number 7?” I asked Aiden. “He is Greenland’s star player.” Aiden informed me. My eyes went to number seven. “His name is Tony Ford.” Aiden shouted at me. I grabbed the ball and ran towards Tony. He charged right at me. I shoved him away and threw the ball into the goal. I helped him up.  “Is that all you got?” I asked. I ran off back to the line. “Go Declan!” Lyla shouts from the stands. I shoved the guy to the ground and grabbed the ball throwing it to Aiden. He darted passed the players and threw it into the goal. The crowd cheered. The coach calls time out. We ran over to him. “Keep doing what you are doing guys. Kick their asses.” Coach screams. We run back onto the field. I threw the ball at Aiden and he throws it back at me. Literally half the team is running for me. I was about to throw the ball to Aiden when I got slammed. Son of a gun. “Come on, show me what you got hottie.” Tony said and ran off. Oh… So that is how he wants to play. Tony gets in front of me on first line. “So you are first line now? Or you just wanted to see my cute face?” I winked at him and grabbed the ball. I ran through everyone and scored. BEEP! The buzzer goes off. The crowd cheers. Everyone runs to me and Aiden picking us up. I laughed in excitement. They put us down and I walked over to the stands to get a drink. Someone patted me on the shoulder. I turned around and it was Tony. He took off his helmet. And holy mother of god he was smoking hot. Almost hot at Aiden. “You did good.” He smiled at me. “Me and some of my friends are going out, you should join us. We would love to have you.” I gestured. “Yeah. Let me go get changed and wait for my by the locker room.” Tony smiled and ran off. “Why was you talking to him?” Aiden asked while walking back into the locker room. “He is coming with us tonight.” I smiled at him. “Why?” Aiden asked. He sounded Jealous for some reason. “Because he is actually pretty nice.” I said and got changed. I walked by the locker room waiting for Tony to come out. When he seen me he smiled big. “Ready?” He asked. I nodded. “Do you care driving me home after wards? It’s just the next town over.” Tony pleased. “Yeah no problem.” I smiled at him. “This is your car?!” Tony asked checking it out. “Yeah.” I giggled. “That is amazing!” He shouted. “Just get in and be amazed inside of it.” I demanded and he got in. We drove off heading to the diner. “Are you new? Because I never seen you play last year.” Tony asked. “Yeah. I just moved here this year from NYC.” I informed. “Really? Why move here?” He asked. “Well I moved in with my sister.” “Where is your mom or dad?” “Um… They died in a house fire.” “Oh I am so sorry Declan.” He apologized. I frowned. Even though it has been hundreds of years since they died, it’s still a hard subject to talk about. We pulled into the diner parking lot and walked in. I spotted Lyla, Shaylee and Aiden. I walked over. “Hey Tony!” Lyla smiled at him. I sat down next to Aiden and Tony on my other side. The waiter same as the other week came to our table. “What can I get you guys?” He said then turned to me. He froze. “Really? Why are you here?” He asked me. “Why are you?” I asked back. “Just because you hurt my brother does not mean I won’t hurt you.” River crossed his arms. I smiled. “What would you like?” I asked Tony. “I’ll share whatever you are getting.” Tony smiled. “French fries.” I told River. “What was that about?” Aiden and Tony asked at the same time. “Declan called him out on being gay and he said he wasn’t. Then he told his brother who started to go off on Declan. When Decal said he didn’t want any trouble and turned around, his brother grabbed Declan’s shoulder and Declan span around grabbing his brother’s arm and pulling it back.” Shaylee informed. “I do not like people touching me or pushing me into my car.” I explained. Tony laughed. “I like that.” He laughed more. I rolled my eyes at him. “Tony I had no idea you were gay.” Lyla said. “I just recently came out of the closet last year.” Tony smiled. I smiled at him. Aiden sighed. “Is there a problem?” I asked Aiden. Aiden nodded. “I don’t like this gay stuff.” Aiden informed. Lyla and Shaylee reached across the table and slapped his face. “OW!” He screeched. “I love it.” I informed. I lean over to him. “Gay guys get way more girls by the way.” I wink at him and everyone laughs. “So true.” Tony laughed harder. He brought over the French fries. I looked at them and my eyes widen. When Tony was about to eat one I slapped it out of his hand. “Don’t eat that. He did something to them.” I said. I look up and see River laughing with his brother. I look at the French fries and there was seamen on the bottom. Everyone gasped at our table. Anger field my body. “Excuse me.” I tell Tony. He got up from the table to let me through. “Oh god.” Aiden said running after me. I grabbed River and shoved the French fries in his face. “You think this is funny?” I screamed at him. He laughed. A guy grabbed me pushing me aside. I grabbed him by the throat, slamming him against the wall. River tried to punch me but I threw that other guy on top of him. I started to punch both of them. When Vanessa grabbed me pulling me back. “Declan! Stop it!” She shouts shoving me backwards. “What the hell is going on here?!” Vanessa shouted. “I don’t know sheriff. He just attacked us.” River cried out. “Really? Because you put fucking seamen in our French fries.” I shout. “Liar!” River screamed. “Is this true?” She asked me and my friends. We all nodded. “Well I am going to believe my brother and his friends before I believe you.” She said putting handcuffs onto him. “This is not fair!” He shouts. Vanessa pulls him out the diner. “Where did you learn to fight like that?” Aiden asked me. “Ex-boyfriend.” I smiled. “You want to get out of here? And go get some real food?” I asked Tony. He smiled and nodded. “I’ll see you guys later.” I smiled at Lyla, Shaylee and Aiden. They waved and we left. “That was hot back there.” Tony pointed out while driving to my house. I giggled. “Where are we going anyways?” Tony asked. “My house. I have better food.” I informed. If blood counts as better, then okay. I laughed in my head. We pulled into my drive way and Tony looked up at my house. “You and your sister live here? By yourself?” He asked. “Yeah.” I smiled at him. We got out and went inside. “This place is old.” Tony pointed out. I nodded and walked into the kitchen. “What do you want to eat?” I asked. “I don’t care.” He responded. I grabbed bread, cheese and butter. I make the bomb ass grilled cheese. I made the grilled cheese and handed Tony his and put mine on a plate. I sat at the island and started to eat. “Holy shit this is good.” Tony moaned taking another bite. Really? Did he have to moan? “You sound like you are having sex.” I laughed. “Sex is a good thing.” He winked at me. I giggled. We finished eating grilled cheese and went into the living room to watch TV. We started to watch this scary movie. I have no idea what the name of it was. He laid out on the couch and spreaded his legs so I can sit in between them. I sat in between his legs and we cuddled up to each other. I feel so protected in his arms. His touch felt amazing. But it didn’t shoot electricity through my body like Aiden’s did. I had to get over the fact that he is straight. Falling in love with a straight guy is not my thing. Minutes passed and everything went black. I fell asleep in his arms.
