Alex's POV

"Alex?" Maeve asked as I stared at the crystal, wondering why I was so drawn toward it.

"Hey." I jumped as I heard someone talking in my ear and felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry Al. Did I scare you?" I glanced behind me and saw Nate glancing at me worriedly.

"I'm fine. It's just," I hesitated, wondering if I should tell Nate or not. "I feel that something is missing inside me like there are pieces of the puzzle that are scattered all over." I glanced at the crystal again in wonder until someone's shout broke the silence.

"Oh, my gods! There is fire on my hand! Get off! Get off!" The student yelled as he tried to extinguish the fire while another student was pushing another male student off her because there was a mist surrounding the male student.

"Charmspeak," I murmured as I remembered the story of the goddess Aphrodite and her powers. Everyone suddenly froze on the spot, stunned at the revelation.

"Alex! Do you mean that we have God-like powers?!" Everyone glanced expectantly at me, and I nodded, stunned by this fact as well.

"Oh shoot!" Everyone said and immediately, there was an uproar among the students who are checking if they have God-like powers like their other classmates as well.

"Oh my! I have fire!"

"Oh wow! I have super strength!"

"Oh cool! I have magic!"

"Oh man, I have nothing." One of the students said but the other student shook his head.

"No way dude, you have sharp teeth! Look!" the student shoved a hand mirror on the student's face and the student looked stunned.

"Yeah......no way......!"

"Guys!" Alex yelled amongst the uproar, but the other voice covered his voice.

"Guys!!" Alex yelled but still, his voice was still swallowed by the uproar. Alex started to get mad and suddenly, the sky darkened, and thunder clouds appeared, scaring a few people in the crowd.

"GUYS!!!!" Suddenly lightning flashed through the clouds to the ground, missing a hair breadth of one student's leg, and immediately, everyone became silent.

"Oh gosh, Alex, you have Zeus's power! You have the power of lightning- "someone shouted and suddenly the wind picked up and everyone was stunned even further. "And the wind!" Nate was staring at Alex, shell-shocked as he saw water gathering around him and the earth under his feet cracking.

"Holy cow Nate, you have the power of water and earthquakes! That is the power of Poseidon!" Maeve stared at her hand and as sudden as Nate's power, her hand suddenly glowed in silver light. Both Alex and Nate stared at her in shock.

"Oh my gosh Maeve, you have the power of Artemis, the Goddess of the Moon and Hunt!" Alex and Nate shouted, and Maeve glanced at Alex, stunned while Nate rubbed his chin with his hand.

"How did we get all those powers?" Maeve started asking but Nate stepped in.

"The most important question is, why did we have those powers?" Suddenly everyone became quiet as Nate asked this question. Maeve, Nate, and Alex glanced at each other but neither of them knew the answer to the question. Suddenly, there was a blur heading towards Alex and Alex yelped as something sharp was forced under his chin while Nate and Maeve started at the person in horror.

"Give me what I want, NOW!" The person said while placing her knife closer to Alex's neck. Alex whimpered and gave a pleading look to both Nate and Maeve.

"What do you mean? What do you want?" Nate asked, still horrified and the person opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by a shot to her head and she crumbled down to the floor, dead.

"Thank goodness that I wasn't late. Are you all alright?" A young lady asked but after seeing Nate, Maeve and Alex still looking horrified, she sighed and mentioned for them to follow her.

"Come with me. You three deserve some explanation about what's going on." Nate, Alex, and Maeve nervously glanced at each other before hurrying after the lady, eager yet afraid to find out what was going on.
