"Why are we here again?" Finn grinned asking the same question for the umpteenth time.

"Because I want you to have fun, and I know that this isn't the most conventional way and I do not condone drinking in any way to suppress your pain, but I know a few people here that I think can help."

"You mean bikers and drunks?" Finn chuckled before giving Lydia a look that said 'seriously?'.  Because Finn couldn't believe Lydia took him to a bar of all places.

"No, nice people." Lydia frowned crossing her arms.

"How did you even meet these people anyway." Finn asked looking around his surroundings.  The building was old and the wall boards were hanging from a single nail.

Nothing was around except for a field to the left and some trees to the right.  The air smelt of bark wood and gasoline. And the whole situation made Finn feel a bit off.

"I got mad at Dylan one day so I went for a drive to calm my nerves and I ended up here." Finn sighed and took a deep breath before narrowing his eyes at Lydia who had the biggest smile plastered on her face.

"I don't know Lydia," Finn said warily remembering all the other times Lydia had been oblivious to her surroundings.

"Oh come on, I promise we'll have fun." Lydia grinned widely pleading Finn with her eyes to give this small building a chance.

"Okay, fine." Finn smiled as Lydia laughed a little, throwing her arms through the air in victory.

"Let's get this over with," Finn sighed with a smile heading towards the entrance of the bar.

"Hey, don't act like its torture," Lydia giggled walking next to Finn.

"It kind of is," Finn replied opening the door for Lydia.

"You'll see Finn. You'll see." Lydia grinned before skipping through the doorway.

Finn stepped inside the bar as the door slammed behind him. A wave of air blasted towards Finn making him stumbled backwards slightly. The air smelt of alcohol and smoke and Finn was surprised that Lydia had ever stepped foot in a place like this.

"I don't picture you hanging out here," Finn told Lydia as he noticed a big burly man leaning over the bar with a bottle of beer in one hand and a cigar in the other. His beard was scruffy and he wore a ripped leather jacket and a bandana around his head.  "The perfect stereotype for a biker," Finn thought.

"See Finn, you don't know everything about me either." Lydia smirked before walking over towards the bar. Finn's eyebrows furrowed still shocked at what she just said, but he still trailed behind her anyway.

"Lydia. It's been a long time since I saw your face." A feminine voice from behind the bar counter spoke making Finn avert his eyes towards her direction. A girl with raven hair leaned over the blue counter with a smile that showed all her teeth and a over-sized plaid t-shirt that Finn could only think of as a guys shirt.

"Hey, Maria." Lydia smiled before jumping on to the bar stool in front of the petite asian girl wearing the plaid shirt.

"So, what can I get you? The usual?" Maria asked as Finn jumped on to the seat right next to Lydia.

"You know me so well." Lydia joked with a giggle as Maria smiled before turning to Finn.

"You, I've never seen," Maria pointed at Finn with a smirk. "You must be Finn, Lydia talks about you a lot." Finn smiled at the mere thought of Lydia speaking of him to her friends before responding.

"Only good I hope." Finn grinned as Lydia laughed with a nod.

"So what would you like Mr. Owen?" Maria asked still grinning brightly, her hands gripped the counter as she leaned on to it.

"I'll have whatever Lydia's having." Finn smiled as Maria nodded before turning around and grabbing a bottle of wine.

Finn eyes widened in panic before turning to Lydia, "Lydia we're not aloud to have alcohol. We're underage.  And I don't have my fake ID with me." Finn spat making Lydia look at him seriously before bursting out in laughter.

"Finn you're funny, Maria gives me an exception. And we're in the middle of no where so there's no cops around and no one rats each other out. It's pretty much low-key here." Lydia reassured Finn. Finn's eyes narrowed still not liking the situation before he mumbled a few cuss words and turned back around.

"And when has being underage ever been a concern to you?" Lydia smirked with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Touché," Finn rolled his eyes with a small grin.

"Two Red Splash Cocktails," Maria spoke before placing the glasses on the table and then proceeding to holding out her hand.

"Fine," Lydia sighed before reaching into her pocket and grabbing three ten dollar bills. "Here," Lydia placed them into Maria's awaiting hand to which Maria replied with a 'thank you' and a smile before walking away.

"I'm guessing you come here a lot?" Finn asked with a smirk as he turned to Lydia who was happily sipping on her wine.

"Yep," she replied before taking another sip.

Finn looked down at his drink with a frown. It was red with small bubbles fizzling at the walls of the glass. Sitting on the edge of the glass was an orange and a tooth pick stuck inside and a strawberry attached to it. Finn took a sip after a long moment. The drink slipped down Finn's throat with ease, but burned his tongue with a hint of bitterness that Finn knew was the alcohol.

Sip after sip the burning never seized and all though Finn could feel his pain slowly slipping away it didn't change the fact that Finn still had a million problems and not one solution.

He could drink and drink and drink, but at the end of the day Finn would have to wake up and realize that nothing had changed. His mother and sister were still dead, his father was still a monster, and the love of his life only thought of him as a friend.

And no matter how much alcohol Finn consumed, he could never truly escape his demons.

The rest of the night was blurry for Finn and Lydia.  Cocktails were splashed upon the walls with music pounding through the air making Finn's head hurt from the sound and the headache that came with the cool red drink.

"Ask Maria to turn down the music," Finn uttered the words with squinting eyes towards Lydia.

Lydia smile with a giggle that floated through the air before she answered, "what music?"

Finn smiled still hearing distant music in his head.  But as the music went on Finn couldn't hear it anymore.  It could be the fact that Finn was going insane or he was just insanely drunk, but Finn was definitely hearing things.

But when Lydia turned towards him with a grin wider than the sky and said three words that he never thought he'd hear, he knew he was definitely going insane.

"I love you."

Finn giggled taking in the words that just left Lydia's mouth. He knew he was drunk because Lydia for some odd reason had three heads and each one was laughing and giggling without a care in the world.

So, Finn just nodded with a smile and forgot that anything was said.

The afternoon continued and Finn soon found himself standing next to Lydia at a pool table in the back of the bar.  It was dimly lit and Lydia, as drunk as she was, was playing pool with a stick in one hand and one eye tightly shut positioned near the pool stick.  She pulled back her hand and licked her lips before letting the stick go, sending the pool balls rocketing in different directions.

Her aim was wobbly and she was still giggling like she had won the game.  But Lydia had not gotten one ball into a slot causing Maria to roll her eyes in the distance as she leant over the bar before she stood up and walked towards another customer.

The time passed and in a blink of an eye night soon fell and Finn somehow ended up sitting next to Lydia outside the bar leaning against the brick wall.  Rain poured soaking both his and Lydia's clothes and the stars glimmered in the sky.

Lydia laughed in delight as she danced in the rain in front of Finn.  Finn smiled as she twirled, flicking water around her.

And as the night went on Lydia decided to sit next to Finn on the cold and muddy ground. Sleep overcame her as she leant her soaked hair on Finn's shoulder with a grin.  Flecks of brown spiraled on Lydia's face going from her cheeks to her nose. Her freckles glistened in the rain matching the specs of gold that shimmered in her iris's.

"Promise me that we'll always be together." Lydia spoke in a soft voice as the rain poured around them.

Finn's fingers gripped Lydia's small hand as the wet clothes around her arm clung to her skin. Finn looked into Lydia turquoise eyes with a smile that said it all.

Because Finn knew that although Lydia was his rock and that every time he felt like he wanted to end it all that she would be there to pick up the broken pieces of his past.

But Finn realized Lydia was human too.  And he would always be there to hold her when she's crying, or laugh with her when she's happy.

"I promise."
