Chapter Three

Here is the next chapter my lovely readers!

Chapter Three: Oh boy...

Point of view: Third Person

Lycaon watches as the demigod he has come to love as his own son falls asleep without any worries, deep inside his home. He is concerned about the child's arms and the state he is in more so than ever now. When he first thought about accepting Percy into the werewolf family, he was going to turn him right there in the stream. But when he felt the poor child's sorrow and fear and longing rush through him from the powerful aura of depression he radiated, Lycaon knew that he should offer it to Percy willingly and see if the boy would accept, rather than forcing him to become his heir.

"I have grown attached to you, young one. I have a feeling you will live long and happy amongst my brethren. I just hope I can heal your deep, scarring wounds from the gods. I can sense the fear rolling off of you even when you sleep. You aren't truly free from your injuries in this state either, are you?" Lycaon speaks to Percy's sleeping form.

Percy whimpers and Lycaon moves to stand next to him. He leans down and presses his hand on Percy's forehead. Percy melts into the wolves lying around him, a peaceful expression now on his face instead of one of fear and anxiety. A wolf lies its head on Percy's stomach and another one curls around Percy's head.

"Sweet dreams, Perseus. I will be here when you wake. I will be your protector from now on. Someone you need in your life." Lycaon whispers and Percy smiles at his words unconsciously, causing the old werewolf to smile at the reaction.

~On Olympus~

Apollo sits in his throne, not paying attention to the meeting. No one would be surprised, he normally never listens. Only because he knew what was going on before they did and had to keep it to himself because of laws. So he acted like he never knew anything to keep his father from getting mad.

But this time is different. Ares notices that his brother is brooding and is uncharacteristically upset for some reason and decides to voice his findings. "What troubles you brother?"

Apollo looks up, surprised Ares of all people would notice his brother's different look today. The only day in many years he has not just played the fool. "'Tis nothing my brother. I shall be fine. Just a little thinking I'm doing on a particular mental term and its symptoms. One that normally does not pop up and I'm trying to help cure a patient of it." Apollo answers as he stares at the floor.

"It's not nothing if you are being that serious. Who's the patient?" Artemis asks.

"Someone who is severely traumatized and fears almost everything around them. The only one able to communicate with them without fear striking their heart is someone I never thought in all my years would ever be that soft. But it seems best that they help them heal. The poor child doesn't know who they are anymore and cannot cope without an older figure." Apollo replies and rubs his head, Artemis looks worriedly at her twin.

"How bad is it?" Artemis asks.

"So awful I can't believe I'm stuck in this damned situation with that, that freak to heal the kid. I want to rip that monster's throat out, but he is able to reach the patient in a way that I can't. It frustrates me to no end!" Apollo tells her.

"What monster? Who's the child?" Athena asks, trying to see if Apollo will calm down if they all knew.

"He might as well be a child in his state of mind. The poor thing, I can't even get near him without him cowering away from me." Apollo tells her, avoiding giving Athena a straight answer. "It matters not at the moment. What were we talking about? Perseus Jackson? Do we know where he is? Why would he disappear?" Apollo looks at Poseidon, who looks guilty and so does Zeus. "What did you two do? Don't think you can lie to me." Apollo narrows his gaze at the two brothers.

Poseidon flinches and Zeus sinks into his throne. "I might have...given him to Zeus as a gift." Poseidon whispers.

"And I may have had some," Zeus clears his throat. "Fun with the gift."

Apollo's eyes are dangerous pinpoints. "What do you consider fun? What else happened? He is a hero and he is missing. What if we get into another war? What if we need his help? Why haven't the Greeks notified us? The Romans are out searching frantically, why haven't the Greeks even sent a single demigod to look for their friend? What about that Athena girl? She is everything to him, why isn't she worried?" Apollo looks around at all the gods. Artemis and he seem to be the only ones confused at the situation. The rest of the council look guilty or knowing.

Apollo growls and his eyes glow as he looks through all of their memories, including his sister's. He snarls and uses his domain over knowledge to see the past events.

"Brother?" Artemis asks in fright.

"How dare you? How dare you all? You are lucky I'm not the God of Justice or Revenge. Don't bother coming to me with your problems until you find the boy and he forgives you. Artemis, you are the only innocent one other than me. Call me anytime you need something, anything at all. I'm taking my kids out of the Greek encampment and letting them join the legion or stay with me. This is an absolute outrage. My kids have been in the dark and Chiron keeps them at camp without a good explanation." Apollo flashes out and to Camp Half-Blood.

"Chiron!" Apollo yells and the centaur comes galloping from the archery range.

"How can I help you, Lord Apollo?" Chiron asks nervously.

"Bring me my kids. Now." Apollo says coldly.

In ten minutes, all 17 of his kids are standing in front of him. "What's up dad?" Will asks.

"You're all leaving this camp's premises. It is a disgrace. Gather your things and I will explain everything I have found out." Apollo tells Will in a kinder tone, but Will can tell his dad is serious, worried, and angry and that doesn't happen often in public. He could very well blow up the planet if he doesn't hurry.

In another hour of Apollo's glares at everyone but his kids, the camp has gathered around the sun god and his children. Apollo flashes them away.

All of his kids join the legion and Reyna was happy to have them. They were sent out as their own unit to search for Percy.

Apollo sits in his palace, staring at the charm Lycaon gave him and decides to call Lycaon. But before he can, he hears a gasp and looks up to see his sister.

"What are you doing with that?" She asks in a hurt voice.

"The kid I was talking about, is Percy. Lycaon is the only one able to keep him calm and safe. You should have seen the child, Artemis. He was so frightened, I was terrified of myself. Oh Helios, Artemis I can't stand that monster any more than you can, but I am desperate to help Percy. He hid from me behind Lycaon. I don't know what to do." Apollo has tears running down his face.

Artemis comes over and sits down next to him. "Is it really that horrible? What did you see?" She asks softly.

Apollo tells her everything and by the end, she is trying not to turn into her true form and go kill all the gods and Greek campers.

Apollo calls Lycaon and he agrees to meet him with Percy. Lycaon seems scared for the child's safety, which puzzles Artemis.

At the Wolf Entrance, Lycaon is talking with Percy excitedly and the twin gods watch in amazement as Percy smiles and laughs like he has known Lycaon all his life. He even wears a dark gray sleeveless t-shirt and Artemis is staring at the tattoo on Percy's right shoulder. Percy seems like he normally does to Artemis, but her view changes when she sees Percy's face when he notices the twins's presences.

Percy catches sight of Apollo and Artemis and immediately starts backing toward the entrance to the cave. Lycaon grabs Percy's hand gently and Percy holds onto it like it's his lifeline. Percy inches behind Lycaon some and Lycaon squeezes his hand comfortingly.

"Why are they here?" Percy asks in a scared child's voice, shocking Artemis greatly.

"Calm down young friend, they just want to talk to us and see how you fare today. They won't harm you, I promise." Lycaon tells Percy softly and Percy relaxes a little bit.

"Percy?" Artemis asks in a tentative voice.

"L-lady Artemis." Percy whispers his acknowledgement and looks at the ground.

"Are you okay?" Apollo tries.

Percy just shakes his head and keeps his eyes on the ground. Like he is trained to do it. Which is what Zeus wanted. "You can look at us you know." Artemis tells him in a semi-kind voice. She's angry too, which makes Percy scoot backwards in fear.

"What did you learn?" Lycaon turns the attention away from Percy.

"Everything. It gives me a headache to use the one domain more than I already have to, but I found everything. It is...there are just no words, so I'll just substitute it for so extremely and severely awful that I want to tear my father and uncle to shreds." Apollo huffs and looks at the sky in spite.

"Tell me. I have learned a few things." Lycaon says seriously, then turns to Percy with a warm smile. "Do you want to play a game?" He asks gently.

Percy grins. "Yes. Which one?" Percy asks excitedly.

"It's a memory game. Or a word game. I'll say one word and you say the first one that pops into your head. Okay?" Lycaon explains and Percy nods and waits.

"Loyalty." Lycaon starts.

"Confusion." Percy admits sadly.

"Gods."

"Fear." Percy whimpers out.

"Apollo."

"Frightening."

"Artemis."

"Terrifying."

"Poseidon."

"Abandon." A tear rolls down his face.

"Zeus."

"Pain."

"Woods."

"Home."

"Wolves."

"Family."

"Hate."

"Greeks." Percy growls.

"Romans."

"Miss." Percy sighs.

"Doctor."

"Bad." Percy shakes his head.

"Lycaon."

"Father." Percy breathes and Lycaon smiles at him.

Well? How is it? Don't be afraid or shy to tell me. Pjo/HOO belongs to Rick Riordan. See ya, my lovely readers!
