~KATYA~

"How are you feeling?" Jazz questioned as they all piled in, Stark gliding across the room to my side in a heartbeat.

I gripped the sheets, "Something is...wrong."

He frowned. "What do you mean?"

I sat up with ease, though that didn't seem to surprise them. Slowly, I lowered the sheets and leaned forward. "I feel like there are ridges on my back. Can-can you check?"

Stark reached over and gripped the hem of his v-neck that was placed on me, pulling it up to the nape of my neck.

They all sucked in a gasp.

"What's wrong?" I panicked, glancing back at Stark.

"You have them." he breathed, eyes steeled. "You have the same tattoos I do."

"What does that mean?" I exclaimed, desperate to see the tattoos that riddled my back.

"You've been cursed." Lorena muttered, cupping her chin in thought.

"Was anyone in the room recently?" Alric jumped.

I thought back to the haze I had between waking and sleeping. "Um, the boy- the one with the green uniform, he came to inform us that we needed to leave, and then he freaked and left. I thought it was because I looked like I was on my deathbed."

"Alright. I'll go find him. I can use my affinity to find out if he saw anything."

"How will your affinity for the dead help to see if he noticed anything?"

He grinned, "I dabble in compulsion, my dear."

"We need to tell you something, Katya." Lorena grabbed my hand, "And I just want you to know that we have a plan-"

Castor nudged her out of the way, "Ignore her. What she means to say is that the vampires found us because Barcelona is under a werewolf's name and the only chance of us escaping is my sister's affinity for earth."

I couldn't breathe for a full five seconds before I exploded. "What? How did they find us so quickly? We haven't even been in Spain for a week-"

"Oh that's not the worst of it," he laughed, "You know where our refugee is going to be in? Sicily! Yay!"

Draver groaned as I hyperventilated. "Somebody just blow his head off."

Alric came back into the room like a hurricane, the door slamming behind him loudly.

"Bad news." he breathed.

"Let me guess, you killed the hotel manager." Iris remarked wryly.

Castor scoffed, "Excuse me, that's my forte. Only I am capable of killing people necessary to our survival."

"Back to what Alric was saying." Stark growled.

"Right. Apparently the bell boy saw Kaleesi."

"How do you know?" I winced as I swung my legs over the side of the bed.

"There's only one Siren that looks 'scary and sexy as fuck' and has 'killer heels'."

They all nodded in agreement while I blinked disbelievingly. "That's it? No physical description needed?"

"Well when a man sees a Siren and hears her speak, their eyes and their ears get a little messed up, and judging from the popped blood vessels in the corners of his eyes and the excessive amount of times I had to repeat the question, it was pretty obvious that Kaleesi was in here."

"Unless..." Lorena paced to the couch, sitting down as she closed her eyes deep in thought. "Unless it was Kendra."

"No. Kendra? She can't be here." Castor shot. "We're planning to meet her in Sicily after all, not to mention if she was here then she would've gone to see us, not Katya. Nor would she have given Katya Kaleesi's magic marks."

"So I still don't know who Karen is and why we're going to meet her in Sicily."

Stark walked around the otherside of the bed and grabbed my hand, guiding me off the bed so I could sit by Lorena while Iris sat on the opposite side of her. The rest of the Lycans stood across from us and the glass coffee table.

"Kendra is Kaleesi's twin sister. She's an Ancient, which means she can help us fight Orion."

I frowned at Jazz's words. "Wait, if she's an Ancient then wouldn't she help Orion instead of us? Not to mention that she's Kaleesi's twin."

Draver sighed, "Let me guess, none of you bothered to explain Kaleesi or Kendra to her."

Alric cleared his throat, "In my defense, I didn't see Kaleesi nor Kendra becoming a subject that needed discussion."

"Okay ignore their banter," Iris turned to face me. "Kaleesi was a mermaid, as was Kendra. Kaleesi betrayed her merfolk and killed her father then climbed up the Surface to become a vampire which is why she's a Siren, a mermaid turned vampire. Kendra is Kaleesi's twin, she was exiled because she followed Kaleesi to the Surface since she didn't want her sister to be alone. Unfortunately for her, she was tossed back by Kaleesi since that bitch has dry ice for a heart. Though a member of one of the Royal families caught her and the Moon Goddesss said to make her a wolf and grant her affinities."

"So what does that make her?"

"A Nymph." Stark voiced just as the building shook.

"Guess they're attacking now." Draver muttered, his palms glowing orange.

"Is Winry answering?" Castor jumped.

Alric shook his head, "She hasn't seen Flipper."

"Who's Flipper?" said Jazz.

"My pet. Deceased pet. Alric is using Flipper's soul to contact my si-"

"Got it!" he yelled. "Back up, people, this takes a lot of willpower."

I stood up walked by the door that conjoined the two rooms as Alric sliced his fingernail across his wrist, squeezing tightly so that the blood would drip into his palm. Moving quick, he scooped two fingers of his blood and smeared it on the table in what looked like to be really creepy Supernatural shit.

"What is he doing?" I gasped as the the blood turned a neon blue, Alric's silver eyes turning blue along with it.

"You'll see." Stark whispered. slipping his arm around my waist. "You might want to hold on tight. It's going to get a bit windy."

Windy? More like tornado weather. I'm pretty sure Alric gave me a free facelift with the gusts of wind that flew out from his circle where he had slammed his palm onto. He raised his hand up, and with every inch of space reveal between his hand and the glass coffee table, what looked to be an apparation of Winry and the skull of a small dog filled in.

"Oh my Goddess. Is that really Winry?"

"In the flesh." she smiled as the glow faded and Alric collapsed back onto the couch. "Phew. That sucked the life out of me. Literally."

"What? Then why the hell would you do it?"

"We need to have you alive, Katya." he smiled, blood trailing out of the corner of his mouth. "Besides, I'll be fine. Iris can heal me up real quick."

"Yeah and what will you do when I'm not there?" she worked her hands onto his head, as if she was giving him a head message. For once, I got to see how her affinity worked.

A warm golden light appeared in her veins, making them exceptionally prominent. I could see the warm glow travel to Alric's head, filling the nerves quickly before shots of it flew down to his arms and probably everywhere else.

Stark's eyes narrowed and he turned to face the window. "No time for astonishment. They've found us."

A vampire was rocketed straight to the window- and now, through it. I braced for the blow but instead the stomach-curdling crunch of bone had me widen my eyes. I looked to see Winry with her palm outstretched, a thick wall of concrete in front of us.

"How in the world..."

She smirked, bringing her hand into a fist as the concrete compressed into a tight ball. "I summoned it from the underground parking lot."

"Just like that?"

"Just like that."

"Are we pleased with showcasing our affinities? Yes? Good. Now kindly removing us from this situation, Novella." Jazz demanded.

"With pleasure." she laughed.

Then we all fell.

I grappled for Stark who latched onto my arm bringing me to him. "Calm down. You're fine."

I could barely catch his words as we descending through the floors of the hotel without a single scratch until we reached the parking lot.

"No one is here." she popped a green lollipop in her mouth, looking at both entrances of the parking lot. "That's good. I'm going to dig a channel from here to the airport. Keep on the yellow brick road, Doras."

Alric looked like he wanted to correct her, but Castor shot him a hard look. Don't fuck this up.

"-okay? Got it?" she removed the lollipop, scanning all of our reactions. "Great. By the way, I'd recommend Katya being carried by Castor, no offense Stark, since she's the priority and he's the fastest."

"I'm fine with that." Stark accepted just as Castor swung me over his shoulder.

The sound of earth crumbling and giving away to Winry's affinity made me realize that this was it. We were going underground. I forced myself not to think about creepy creatures that could be lurking underground.

"Wait, what is she doing?" I panicked as the opening that we jumped down from was closing itself back up, a thin fissure above dripping slivers of light to guide our way.

"I'll go on ahead with Katya. Stick together. There could be shifts of earth here so be sure to stay on the path of this light." Castor informed the others,
I felt wrong leaving Stark, but gut-wrenching feeling was shaken away as we sped forward, leaving them behind us in a flash.

But then again, I guess that had to be done. Maybe I was starting to form attachment issues...oh Goddess. What if I became the clingy type? What type was I in the first place? I wasn't exactly an expert on dating and love considering that my first date was with my father while we were playing dress-up when I was younger. Stark was my first...boyfriend. No, that wasn't right. I haven't even asked him out, much less the other way around. Friends with benefits? No. That makes me sound like a complete whore. Lovers could work...yeah, no. Complete slutty feel to it. I guess we're just lingering in a love-hate acuaintanceship.

It was only five minutes into the run when Castor came crashing to a halt, the air flying out of me as the speed we once had drifted past us, my skin tingling. We were going that fast?

"What's wrong?"

I could hear Castor's heart rate increased unsteadily.

"Katya... I lost the light."

My heart rate plummeted.
