Chapter 46

Lucious
I've been staying at my mother's place for the last two days since she shifted back. She hasn't really been her normal happy self. I can see that apart of her is broken without father, but I expected this.
She sits there at the counter in the center of the kitchen as I make her favorite tea, filling her in on everything that has happened. The last thing she remembered is me carrying her through the forest the day father was killed. Everything after that is blank.
"I'm going to make them pay for this mother," I tell her as I bring over the hot tea to her.
She let out a sigh of defeat as she looks down at the cup of tea, shaking her head a little. "No Lucious." She looks over at me with watery eyes.
"You want me to let them get away with what they have done?" I ask frowning as I think about it.
"Enough killing has happened Lucious. More killing isn't going to change or solve anything." I watch as she reaches up wiping away her tears as they fall from her eyes. "I don't want anyone else to die over this. This hatred you're holding on to will only take you to a dark place. Your father fight isn't yours to continue. I'm asking you to let this hatred you're holding onto go Lucious. It's over." She tells me.
My jaws clench as I listen to her, feeling this hatred that I'm holding inside. I just hate that they have broken my family, but they get to act as if nothing happened.
"You need to make things right with your mate." She tells me.
I let out a sigh as an image of Lisa's bloody face pops into my head, causing this guilt and pain to fill me. "I've hurt her mother." She probably hates me now and for good reason. Samuel could have killed her and I'm the one who put her in that situation.
"Make things right with her." She tells me.
"How do I make this right?" I ask knowing I've ruined things with Lisa. I miss her and I do want her to come back here with me. She's my mate and I have all rights to her no matter what anyone says or think, but I don't want to force her to come with me. I want her to come willingly like before.
"You do whatever it takes to make things right. She'll forgive you eventually." Mother tells me.
I let out a sigh not knowing how to make things right with Lisa.
Hearing the front door open I hear the sound of Tilda's voice. She makes her way into the kitchen and comes over hugging mother tightly.
"I've missed you so much." Tilda began to cry as she continues to hug mother.
"Everything is okay now." Mother tells Tilda as she hugs her, gently rubbing her back.
After a minute Tilda pulls away. I notice the mark on her neck. I guess she and Frank are good now.
"Don't cry, sweety." Mother tells her as she reaches out wiping away Tilda's tears.
"I'm just really happy that you're better now." She cries and let out a low chuckle at the same time. "Lucious was mean to me. He told me he would trade me for a goldfish if he could." Tilda frown over at me.
"She started it. She said she would trade me first." I say. Since little kids, Tilda would start things with me, then run and tell when she loses the argument.
"I can only imagine the crap you two been giving each other with no one here to keep you two in line." Mother says.
I look over as Frank walks into the kitchen. When he sees me he frowns a little. I feel myself wanting to glare over at him, but thinking about what mother just told me I just look away. This hatred I feel towards them isn't just going to go away overnight, but for mother, I'll try to let it go.
"Mother this is Frank, my mate," Tilda says smiling over at Frank as he walks over to her.
" It's nice to meet you, Frank." Mother gives him a friendly smile.
"Now I see why Tilda is so beautiful." He says causing mother to smile. It feels good to see her smile when I'm sure she feels as if there's not much for her to smile about.
He places a kiss on Tilda's cheek causing her to blush. I take in a calming breath trying not to let how I feel about him come to the surface for everyone to see.
"Where do I put the bags?" He asks Tilda.
"I'll show you." She says leaving out the kitchen with him.
"Tilda seems happy." Mother says.
"I guess." I walk over and start to clean up the mess I made with cooking mother breakfast.
The room goes silent for a minute as I wipe down the countertop.
"Go to your mate Lucious. The longer you wait the longer it'll take to make things right." Mother tells me.
I let out a sigh. "What if she doesn't want me anymore." If I was in Lisa's position I'll probably not want me anymore either.
"What happened to her is horrible and maybe she does feel as if she doesn't want you anymore, but if you show her that you're going to let go of this hatred she will forgive you." Mother tells me.
I let out another sigh thinking about what mother is saying.
"Go to her." Mother tells me again.
I look over at mother and give her a nod. I walk over and give her a hug and place a kiss on her cheek before leaving going home to shower and change clothes.
I leave the pack heading to her father's land where I'm sure she's at. I want her, but I won't force her to come with me. If she doesn't want me anymore I will have to find a way to live with that. I'm the reason for her feeling that way.
I make it to her father's land the next morning. I start to feel the pull of the bond as I drive up the long driveway and pull into the large lot that's filled with cars.
I get out of the car and lean up against the side of my car waiting for Lisa to come out. I'm sure she can feel the pull knowing I'm here.
I look around watching as people leave in and out of the castle as I wait.
As I wait starting to think she's not going to come out, the door opens again and she comes out looking around until her eyes land on me leaning up against my car.
I walk over meeting her halfway.
"How are you?" I ask looking at her beautiful face. The last image of her face I had was a bloody image and I'll never be able to forget it.
"I'm fine." She looks down before looking at me again.
"I'm sorry Lisa. I never meant for anything to happen to you." I tell her regretting everything that I did that lead to her being hurt.
She let out a sigh. "You may didn't mean for me to get hurt, but I did, because of you Lucious. You're hurt and angry inside and you only think about yourself and no one else." She tells me looking down again.
"Things will be different I promise. I miss you Lisa and I want you to come back home." I miss her and things just don't feel the same with her not being there.
She lightly shakes her head looking back up at me. "I don't trust you anymore Lucious. Your promises mean nothing. The last time you promised me that you would ask those mountain packs for those herb and not kill anyone and instead of keeping your promise you tried to find a way around it and it only led to more problems that you caused. I don't believe you Lucious." She tells me.
I let out a sigh knowing her words are true. "I'm sorry for what I've put you through and I know my promises mean nothing to you now but I won't break this one or try to find a way around it. I'm not going to force you to come back. I'll earn your trust back first and show you that things with me won't be like before." I just want her to come home and I want her to want to be there with me.
"I'll like that." She tells me, letting me know that I can start with earning her trust back first. She let out a sigh. "Well I have to go, my class is about to start." She tells me.
"Okay," I say watching as she walks away heading back towards the castle. I let out a sigh as I watch her for a moment before turning and heading back over to my car.
"Lucious." She calls out to me causing me to stop and turn around looking at her.
"Would you like to come inside?" she ask standing at the castle door.
I look up at the huge castle knowing this is a test. She wants to see if I'm really going to change by inviting me into her father's home knowing how I feel about him.
"I'll like that." I push away this hatred that I feel towards her people as I walk over to her. I watch as she gives me a small smile knowing I've passed her test by accepting her invitation inside.
She opens the door and I head inside with her.
Well, that's all for Lisa and Lucious. I hope you guys enjoyed the story and thank you all for all the votes and love you guys have shown. Thanks!
