NINE

The platform where the train tracks were began to shake, snapping the happy and cheery initiates back to reality, breaking up the little moment the four of them were having. Zeke's face broke into a smile as he felt the platform shake, knowing what it meant, and even though he didn't forget about the trio before him, he just uttered "Come on." to them before dashing away, easily breaking into a sprint.

"I don't like him." Eric confessed, watching as the dark-skinned boy ran off, "I think he's rather nice." Tobias countered, even if it wasn't the complete truth he wasn't planning on having a fellow initiate thrown of the railroad tracks just for bumping into him.

Lyanna made no comment regarding the boy but she did tell the two boys to start running once the distance deafening sound of the train ripped through the air, Eric was the first one to break into a run, followed by Lyanna who pulled a stunned Tobias with her by his wrist.

It seemed nearly natural to the three to run, their legs running automatically as their ears tried to pick up how far away the train was, so natural that Tobias passed Lyanna shortly after they began to run, even though his back was still aching. A smile grew on the ginger's lips as she noticed this change from being frozen to running automatically, and even Eric whooped when he noticed himself.

It was strange how 3 strangers from different factions connected suddenly, acting as if they had been best friends for years and years and all because of a small interaction but somehow Tobias felt more at ease with these two after a few brief moments with them than he did with his father his whole life until that moment.

The train flashed past them so quickly many of the transfer initiates had trouble maintaining their balance, the doors were open which was a blessing for them, making it easier to get inside. Surprisingly enough Tobias was able to catch a handle as the passed him, nearly yanking it off at the difference in speed but he was able to hoist himself inside, right behind him Lyanna was also able to grab a handle, barely  being able to grab on as he clammy hand kept slipping.

Eric wasn't so fortunate, his hands failed to grab a handle and he nearly tripped out of the walkway. His heart hammering in his chest as he peered down below, his ears rang and he began to fall behind. One of his biggest fears, heights, working against him in this, even if he had had no trouble climbing the pole to get there in the first place.

Thankfully the fact that he had started running before Lyanna and Tobias meant that he was ahead of them and that Lyanna instead of throwing herself inside the train compartment stayed glued to the handle, arm hooked through it, watching if Eric was able to get in or not, much to Tobias's discomfort.

He peered behind to see how much train was left and if the other two had gotten on when he saw Lyanna standing on the ledge step and hooked onto the handle, a small smile growing on his lips before he turned around and kind of ran backwards, pushing his fear aside as much as he could.

As soon as she was near Eric's form, the ginger stretched her arm out and wrapped it around the blond man's waist at high speed, hurting both her and him slightly and giving Eric very little time to react, even if he did react fast enough to grab onto the ginger and the handle that she was holding onto.

"You're crazy." he whispered to her breathlessly, thankful to be alive but scared of falling, smiling down at her and holding onto her with his own free arm, "No, I'm Dauntless." she countered, smirking at him. "You are both going to die if you don't get inside." Tobias commented truthfully.

His words were all the duo needed to not so skillfully get inside, needing the help of Tobias to make sure neither of them fell down or out while doing so and once inside Lyanna laid on the middle of the compartment floor breathing in deeply.

"Thanks." Eric told the brunet boy, gently punching his shoulder as they both slid down the wall opposite to the door, near the ginger girl, "Welcome." Tobias breathed out, giving the blond a small smile before looking down at the ginger who decided to give them both a thumbs up instead of a verbal reply, prompting the two boys to chuckle lightly at her.
