A smile lit up my face,
An electric jolt of happiness shoots through my veins.
People's chirpy hustle and bustle on the streets,
Kids from the nearby shops finding treats.
Couples sauntering with intertwined hands,
Teenagers cackling with their group of friends.
Old people sitting on a bench in parks or wandering,
The birds in the sky ecstatically chirping.
The white balls of snow cascading down,
While I sat under a tree in my lawn.
And anywhere I glance,
Hues of reds and greens dance.
The night shines with beautiful fairy lights,
Everyone trying to take in the beautiful sights.
An enormous Christmas tree with a luminous star at the top,
Making people cheer and hop.
This is the magic of December,
Waiting for the arrival of Christmas and New Year.
