Your POV
As sunlight dappled the treehouse floor, I opened my eyes and rolled over. Deciding it would be best to try and get up, I tried to sit up. Key word: try. I had forgotten about the huge cut on my stomach, and it hurt to move. I ended up on the treehouse floor with the sunlight that had been so cheerful. Now it just seemed to laugh at me. I glared at it, then put my head on the ground, trying to ignore the pain of my tail being crushed. I head a ladder creak and a male chuckling. I looked up and saw both Laurance and Garroth. Laurance was chuckling while while Garroth was just smiling, his cyan eyes bright. I noticed he had changed out of his armor. I put my head back on the ground and once again tried to sit up. Once again I failed. Laurance stopped laughing, and came to help me.
"Is it the cut?" He asked. I nodded as he helped me sit up. Garroth, who apparently hadn't heard about my injury even though we were in the same dimension for a year. Or a minute. It really depends who you ask. "I would have thought it would have healed a little in the few weeks I haven't see you," Laurance said as he attempted to help me stand. I forced a laugh.
"Yeah, it hasn't even been a week. It's barely been a day. Different dimensions, and wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff. Heh." As I successfully stood up and held Laurance's shoulder for support, Garroth asked a question.
"Wait, you were cut? By Zane?" he asked, his crisp British accent clearly heard.
"Yeah. See?" I pulled up my shirt just enough so Garroth could see the blood stained leaves plastered to my stomach. He sucked in his breath and I winced. "Yeah, it hurts. Do you know if Donna is still around? Wasn't she the nurse?"
"Yes, Donna is still in Phoenix Drop, and she is actually one of the few villagers who didn't abandon Phoenix Drop when we disappeared to the Irene Dimension for fifteen years. Even if she is still here, Aphmau might be better for healing," Laurance said.
"Aphmau?" I asked, tilting my head. "Why her?"
"You wouldn't know because you weren't here, you either Garroth, but remember how Aphmau absorbed that relic? Well, when we got back she could heal people. At first, it would take a lot out of her. But as she kept healing, it took less and less effort and strength." Laurance laughed a little. "The first time she healed someone, Dante, she passed out for a few hours. Everyone was really worried. I was terrified because I thought she had traded her life for his." Just then someone who looked like Garroth's doppelgänger climbed up the ladder with a green eyed brunette. My ears twitched. Both their eyes widened.
"(Y/N)!" they cried. After a few seconds of staring I recognized them.
"Woah. Are- Are you Levin and Malachi? You two have grown so much." I said as they approached me. They hugged me and I sucked in my breath, trying not to growl at them. They noticed however, and asked what was wrong.
"Hey guys, let's not hug (Y/N) until she's better, okay?" Laurance recommended. I noticed he still speaks them like they're children, even though technically Malachi is around nine hundred years his senior. Both of Aphmau's children backed away, heeding Laurance's advice.
"It was nice to see you again (Y/N). Do you want me to try and get Aphmau for you?" Levin asked.
"That's-"
"That would be great. Thank you Levin," Laurance cut me off. He watched as Malachi and Levin disappeared down the ladder. I looked at the brunette and noticed him glaring slightly at the ladder.
"What happened in the past year?" I asked. Laurance sighed, stopping his death glare.
"A lot happened. Where should I begin?" he wondered, running his hand through his hair.
"The beginning is usually a good place." I giggled, and both Garroth and Laurance joined me.
"Okay then. I'll tell you after you're healed. Deal?"
"Deal."
"Hey (Y/N), why don't you sit on the bed?"
"What if I want to stand?" I sassed Garroth. He put his hands up, surrendering. I laughed.
"If I'm going to tell you what happened, we're going to need you to bring the sass from a twelve to a five. A three would be preferable," Laurance bargained.
"Hmmmm." I hummed as I sat on the bed. "How about a seven?"
"I said-"
"I know what you said, and I'm saying a seven is as low as I'll go. Take it or leave it."
"You drive a hard bargain. I guess I have no choice but to accept."
"That's right. Bow down to me!" I laughed. Just as I said that Levin and Malachi came back, but the purple loving Lord wasn't with them.
"Where's Aphmau?" I asked. Levin and Malachi looked at each other.
"Do you remember anything about last night?" Laurance asked.
"Yeah," I nodded. "There was a shirtless guy who came and saved us. We escaped from the Irene Dimension and there was an explosion."
"Yes, but someone Aphmau apparently cared for very much died." I could sense the bit of poison in his voice but needed to know.
"Was it the shirtless guy?" Silence greeted me. I looked up at Laurance. He nodded, his almond colored hair hiding his ice blue eyes. I looked around at the others, each one of them bowed their heads slightly.
"Did something happen between them?" I asked. I regretted it immediately as Laurance's fist clenched.
"She's pregnant with his child," Laurance said in a low voice. "She chose him over anyone else."
"Oh...."
Because Author~Chan had to break the awkward silence somehow, Donna came up the ladder at that moment. As she entered, the mood instantly lightened; even the sunlight seemed brighter.
"Hey Donna," I greeted. I noticed she had a bigger stomach. She must be expecting a kid. Yip will be a big brother now, if he isn't already.
"Oh my, (Y/N), it's been too long. How are you?" That comment earned a dry chuckle from me.
"Pretty good, considering that I can't stand or even sit up without help. But you can see for yourself." I lifted my shirt again to reveal the leaves used as bandages. Donna gasped, and immediately shooed all the boys out.
"Out, all of you. We need space, and I'm sure (Y/N) doesn't want any of you here while I do this." Donna gently pushed me to lie down as she spoke. "Now out! Go!" Obeying her command, the two brunettes and two blondes followed her command, heading down the ladder. Both Garroth and Laurance waved, silently mouthing the words good luck and feel better. As I fidgeted on the bed, Donna grabbed things from her bag. When I was finally in a comfortable and not tail crushing position, Donna pulled my shirt up just enough to take the leaves off. As she peeled them off, she hummed.
"It's not as bad as I thought," she commented. I cranes my neck and noticed that my wound had healed considerably, considering the fact that I was only wounded around thirty six hours ago. Hmmm... Maybe the leaves were magic? Or possessed magical properties? Maybe. After all, nothing was known about that pocket dimension or the tree.
"Ready?" Donna asked. She noticed my confusion and explained. "This will sting a little, okay" I nodded. I hissed as she tried to clean my cut as gently as possible. "I thought you were a wolf hybrid, not a Meif'wa." I barked out a laugh, but hissed again because of the pain. Donna apologized but kept helping to heal me.
*~*~*A Few Hours Later*~*~*
As I awoke from my nap, I stretched and felt much better. I would have to thank Donna later. As I sat up, successfully now, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood. I stretched with my arms over my head before heading over to the ladder. I climbed down, and noticed it was kind of chilly. As I walked down the stairs I failed to realize the bright white snow clumped on the branches. I reached the gravel path and looked around. I realized I had no clue where to go, or where anyone would be. I decided to just wander around and explore this new Phoenix Drop. The snow would only make everything that much better.
"(Y/N)~Chan!" I heard a familiar voice scream my name. I turned and saw Kawaii~Chan standing in the doorway of a house, a little bluenette hiding behind her.
"Hey Kawaii~Chan. How are you?" I asked as I hugged her gently. She squeezed me, and I cried out. She immediately let go of me and inspected me with a mother's critical eye.
"What happened to (Y/N)~Chan?" Kawaii~Chan asked. I laughed slightly.
"I was hurt in the stomach. I'm healing now, so it's fine." The small Meif'wa hiding behind my baker friend looked at me. I crouched down. "Hey, who are you?" I asked kindly.
"I'm Nekoette. She would like to invite you in for some apple pie she made." I smiled. Kawaii~Chan clapped her hands.
"Kawaii~Chan thinks that is a great idea, Nekoette~Tan. Kawaii~Chan will get the plates while Nekoette~Tan will help make (Y/N)~Chan comfortable."
"Come on Ms. (Y/N)~Chan." Nekoette took my hand and gently lead me into her house. She led me to a chair and sat next to me. Kawaii~Chan reappeared with the dishes and utensils, as well as a pie with a few slices gone.
"Nekoette~Tan made this pie herself. Kawaii~Chan is so proud of her daughter." Kawaii~Chan beamed at the slightly embarrassed Nekoette.
"Oh, Kawaii~Chan, can I ask who Nekoette's father is?"
"Oh, it's Dante~Kun."
"Really? I always thought him and Nicole would be a thing." Kawaii~Chan nodded.
"Dante~Kun and Nicole~Sama were dating, and Nicole~Sama even had Dimitri~Kun, but Dante~Kun is Nekoette~Tan's father," Kawaii~Chan explained. My pink haired friend said everything so casually that I stopped eating my delicious slice of apple pie.
"Does Ms. (Y/N)~Chan like the pie?" Nekoette asked. I nodded, and took another bite.
"It's very good. Did you make this all by yourself?" Nekoette nodded and grinned. I finished my slice and left, thanking Kawaii~Chan and Nekoette for their hospitality. I left, and wandered around some more until a snowball hit my tail and splattered against my back. I turned around, and saw Laurance and Garroth. Laurance was throwing a snowball up and catching it one handed, holding his other hand behind his back. Garroth was making another snowball.
"Really guys? I don't even have a change of clothes or a coat." Laurance revealed his previously hidden hand and revealed a short white coat with a pair of gloves. I walked up to them and took them, putting them on. I zipped the coat and put one glove on, purposely dropping the other in the snow. As I bent down to pick it up, I quickly pulled it on and took two handfuls of snow. Standing back up, I quickly threw the snow at them and ran. I ran back towards Kawaii~Chan's house and pressed myself against the side of her house. Garroth and Laurance raced past, giving me time to make a few snowballs. Holding them in my non dominant hand, I picked one up in my dominant hand and slowly followed Laurance and Garroth, who had slowed down to search behind buildings and trees. Careful not to draw attention to myself by crunching snow, I tiptoed close enough to hit them with snowballs. I threw the first one at Laurance, hitting him square in the back. I quickly threw the next two at Garroth, one hitting his shoulder and the other knocking his hat off. Both turned to look at me and I quickly threw the three snowballs I had left, only one of them hitting Laurance. I sprinted towards the place where the square used to be, but slipped on a patch of ice. Laurance and Garroth, not noticing the ice patch either, slipped and crashed into me.
"Ouch," I groaned. Laurance just laughed. "Shut up." Laurance just laughed some more. I took a handful of snow and shoved it down his shirt. "Payback." I smirked as Laurance started screaming.
"COLD! COLD! COLD!" Laurance screamed as he tried to get the snow out of his shirt. Garroth laughed at him and Laurance glared. "It's not funny. Here, let me show you."
"No, I'm- COLD! LAURANCE WHY? IT'S SO COLD!" Laurance had shoved snow down Garroth's coat, and I just laughed, closing my eyes. When I opened them, only Garroth stood in front of me.
"Where's Laur- THAT SNOW IS COLD. OH MY IRENE. NOPE." I exclaimed, jumping up and taking off my coat. I shook out the snow and put it back on. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for some hot chocolate. How about it?"
"Sure," Garroth agreed. Laurance nodded. We all headed back to town, and I saw Donna coming down from the tree. I jogged up to her and said hi.
"Hey (Y/N), and Garroth and Laurance. How are you all?"
"Good. How are you Donna?" Garroth asked. Donna smiled.
"I'm good. What were you guys up to?"
"Just having a little fun in the snow," Laurance explained.
"We were actually going to get some hot chocolate and just chat for a bit. Would you like to join us?"
"Sure. Where were you going to have the cocoa?"
"Ummm. I'm not sure," I responded. Donna laughed.
"It's okay. You all can come over for cocoa and meet the kids."
"Kids? As in plural?"
"Yep. There's Yip, and Lello and Rollo, the twins, and another one is one the way." She pat her stomach. "We think it's a girl but won't know for sure for another month."
"Okay. Oh, is this your house?" I asked.
"Yep. Logan built it himself." Donna held the door for all of us, and we took our jackets off and hung them on a hook. We were ushered into the living room where two young boys, the twins, were playing. They stopped as we entered and sat by the fireplace, but started again as Donna offered us our mugs of hot chocolate.
"Thanks Donna. And not just for the hot chocolate." I took a sip after speaking, enjoying the warm savory beverage. Donna smiled.
"No problem."
