Previously in Lunarstar Academy...

"Since we're gonna be stuck together till we graduate here's something you need to know about me. Now I'm only gonna say this once so listen carefully. Cockiness will get you nowhere."

*2 days later*

After Alex and I's little wrestling match we just kinda accepted that we're stuck together. After that we decided to at least be civil towards each other.

You'd think that the professors might actually be intelligent right? Yeah me too. But apparently we are both wrong. Why are we wrong? Because the school decided that it was a good idea for the vampire dorm to have a bake sale. That's right a bake sale hosted by vampires. Like you've got to be kidding me who in their right mind would think that vampires would know how to bake? We drink blood for crying out loud! None of our skills for survival require any type of cooking.

"Come on Emily, you know you aren't gonna get out of baking something." Alex said trying to convince me to find a brownie recipe.

"Why would I bother participating in this stupid bake sale? No one in their right mind would buy anything from a vampire bake sale. Everyone knows vampires don't bake." I say rolling my eyes.

"I never said people at this school were smart Em."

"Em? Who said you could call me Em?"

"I did. If we're stuck together and cockiness will get me nowhere, I figured maybe friendliness will"

I just rolled my eyes at him. I wasn't even going to bother with a response. I decided to shut him up about the bake sale by letting him use my computer to find a brownie recipe. I, however came to the conclusion that ordering cookies would be safer. I don't want to be involved in burning down the building attempting to actually make something. Yes I know I'm a genius. Unfortunately i cant say the same for Alex. He believes that its a great idea to try to bake the brownies himself. I have already decided to see if i can crash in the demon dorm so i don't burn to death.

Now you're probably thinking "How do vampires tell when they've found their mates?" . Excellent question. Well its not an instant thing like with werewolves; we don't just automatically fall in love with each other at first sight Unlike werewolves we have to get to know our mate before we find out. It's really weird how we figure it out. When we find our mate we see their aura, and after we accept each other then we have a connection to where we can feel what the other is feeling and all that jazz. Needless to say I don't care if I find my mate or not. I've survived just fine without one for this long.

All of a sudden there was a knock on our door. Since Alex was to enthralled by human brownie recipes to answer the door I opened it. And none other than our dorm director Vlad Dracula.

"Ah Emily long time no see. Alex how's the baking coming?" He said walking into our room.

Alex must have realized who was speaking to him cause he snapped to reality and bowed in respect to him.

" it's coming along great sir." Alex said looking at me with a look of confusion as to why I'm not bowing in respect to the king of vampires.

I ignored Alex and turned to Vlad. "Hey uncle Vlad how's aunt Lucy? I heard she's pregnant, is it a boy or girl?" I said giving my uncle a hug.

"Lucy is doing great. We're having a little girl and we've decided to name her after our favorite niece."

"Aw I'm flattered. I'll have to come up during break and stay for a while."

It was then we heard someone clear their throat. Both our heads turned to a very shocked and confused Alex. "So you're his..?"

"His niece. Yes, Alex meet my uncle Vlad."
