Percy's POV:

When the train stopped in a town that I recognized as Cloudcroft New Mexico. I waited for everyone to get up and exit the train. Once everyone was out I jumped down but when I landed, my knees buckled and I stumbled slightly before I regained my balance

'Must not sleep. I can't leave Arty to hold that burden alone' I thought to myself half expecting a response but none came

"Percy, are you alright?" Thalia asked as she ran over to me and helped steady me

"Yeah, I'm fine" I say stubbornly as I try to walk into the town

"Uh, Percy how much sleep did you get last night?" Bianca said and I frowned 

"I don't need sleep." I said as I walked forward into the town "But I do need a coffee" I muttered as I found a coffee shop and walked in, the others behind me

I ordered a coffee and walked out into the cool air, welcoming the waking feeling it gave me. That's when Bianca stepped up beside me and sighed.

"Something wrong?" I asked as I took a sip of the coffee

"I just miss Nico, that and I keep thinking about the Prophecy, I don't want to lose anyone anywhere, and the fact that one shall perish by a parent's hand?" Bianca said and I nodded "It scares me, and I don't like being scared" I smiled and ruffled her hair

"Don't worry Bianca, I promise, nothing bad will happen to any of you." I say which causes Bianca to relax but also frown a little

But as she opens her mouth to say something, Grover, Zoe, Thalia, and Luke walk over and lean against the railing with us.

"So, Percy, what's the plan?" Luke asks and I shake my head

"This is Zoe's quest, I'll follow her lead" I say to which Zoe gives me a stunned look

"Right, well, um..." She says before stopping as a stray spring breeze blows through the area causing Grover to faint and the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up

"What was that?" I ask and Zoe's eyes widen as she points behind us

I turn around and spot a group of five skeleton dressed in police uniforms and I groan.

"Pan..." Grover muttered sleepily but I ignored him as I saw the Spartoi notice us and I cursed

I was just about to pick Grover up when he shook himself awake and noticed the skeletons.

"Zoe, Bianca you go one way, Grover and Luke will go another way" I say trying to get control of the situation but a loud squeal interrupted me and I grabbed my head in frustration as a large boar that I recognized as the one I killed with Phoenix on one of our hunts "You know what? Screw order! Everyone Split up!" I said and we all scattered with the groups I wanted to choose which I was thankful for

The boar noticed Thalia and I running away and it charged after us as the skeletons split up with only one following. Knowing that Thalia couldn't outrun the boar, I picked her up bridal style before taking a deep breath before sprinting at top speed, not using my speed ability.

"Holy crap you can run fast Percy!" Thalia said as she held onto my neck for dear life as I ran up the hill and onto some railroad tracks

Thalia closed her eyes immediately as soon she saw the height that we were at. I looked behind us and saw the boar charging at us.

"Thalia, I'm going to jump alright?" I say and Thalia just nodded her head quickly so I leapt into the air just as the boar got onto the bridge and it collapsed

I felt a tug in my gut as I hit the snow and started sliding down it. I had caused the snow to become more solid allowing me to use it as a ramp instead of a landing. My trick payed off as I slide down quickly with a squealing boar right behind us. When we got to a flat area away from the bridge, I kept sliding whereas the boar fell straight into the snow and became trapped. I put Thalia down on solid ground and saw the Skeleton warrior running at us, a pistol in its hand. I grabbed my mace canister and summoned my spear before charging the skeleton warrior who pointed its gun at me and shot. Being unable to react quick enough the bullet hit my left shoulder and I stumbled back in pain as I looked at the wound.

"You absolute ass" I yell at the skeleton warrior who prepared to fire again

I sprinted forward, ignoring the pain in my shoulder, and I dropped into a slide before knocking it's legs out from under it. It fell to the ground and I jumped up and kicked it's skull off and stabbed it's gun with my spear. I then willed the nearby snow to melt and fly over to the skeleton where I froze it in a block of ice.

"Percy!" I heard Thalia yell and I turned to see her and the others sitting on the boar and Grover holding an apple

Quickly getting the message, I ran forwards and leapt onto the boar behind Zoe and I felt the beast struggle through the snow before it finally escaped and started running out of the city. After a few minutes, Zoe turned around and inspected my shoulder and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm fine Zoe, it's just a flesh wound" I say and Zoe looks at me in the eyes and I could see fear in them making me sigh "Honest, I'm fine" I say with a small smile to which she returns

Zoe then turns around and leans back on my right side and I chuckle slightly as I watch the terrain fly by.

"Perseus... if I don't survive this quest" Zoe whispers to me and I frown

"You'll survive. I promise that" I respond quietly to which Zoe smiles sadly

"Don't make a girl a promise you can't keep, Fate can't be changed" Zoe said quietly and sadly as I saw a tear roll down her cheek "The fates can't be defied, they brought you here for a reason" I pull Zoe into a small hug and she smiles

"I swear on the Styx that Zoe Nightshade will not die on this quest" I mutter and thunder rumbles causing Zoe looks at me wide eyed

"Why would you make that oath? You won't be able to keep it..." Zoe said quietly with a devastated tone of voice to which I just give my signature smirk

"Have I ever given you a reason to doubt me Zoe?" I say and Zoe gives a genuine smile

"No, no you haven't" Zoe responds and I chuckle

"Get some Sleep" I say and Zoe nods before she passes out and I look in front of us and see Luke looking at me with wide eyes

"What?" I ask nervously hoping that he didn't overhear the conversation between me and Zoe

"How the Hades did you manage to get the biggest man hater to fall asleep leaning on you?" He asks and I let out a breath I was holding before laughing lightly

"I guess normal rules just don't apply to me" I say proudly to which Luke chuckles

"Apparently" Luke responds and after that the group slips into a comfortable silence

A few hours later the boar stops and we wake the girls up. Once up we all jump off the boar which just turns around and runs off. I look around and notice the familiar environment, there were cactus surrounding us and we were in the middle of the desert.

"Arizona" I said off handedly and everyone looks at me "What?"

"How do you know what state were in after just looking around?" Luke said, "There is no way that could happen, even if you did go through every state" Luke says exasperated and I just shrug

It was at that moment a white Limousine pulled up and the door opened to reveal Ares and Aphrodite. Ares looked at our small group and saw Luke and motioned him into the limo.

"Don't keep the lady waiting punk" Ares said and Luke just trudged into the limo after I gave everyone a look of 'Don't do anything stupid'

"Hello Lord Ares" I say with a small bow to which he waves me off

"Don't bother punk, we're only staying for a moment then were heading out" He says and I could feel Thalia getting angry

"What does Aphrodite want with Luke?" Thalia spat and Ares looked at her with amusement

"Beats me, now shut you're trap I'm trying to eves drop" Ares said with an annoyed tone of voice which set Thalia off

Thalia summoned her spear which crackled with electricity and Ares smirked before he brought out his broadsword and Thalia charged the god of war. Just as the two were about to start fighting I stomped my foot causing a small earthquake and my voice became amplified.

"STOP!" I yelled and my voice came out loud and clear

Thalia skidded to a halt and looked at me, while Ares just looked stunned.

"Thalia, go sit down by Zoe" I ordered before I looked at Ares "Lord Ares, stop pissing people off, I know why you do it and what would Zeus say if you injured his only demigod daughter, and then in turn possibly prevented the rescue of Artemis?" I reason to which Ares nods and puts his sword away before turning away and not even looking at any of us

After a few minutes, the door opens again and Luke climbs out before Ares gets in without a single word. The vehicle then drives off and I focus on the current situation.

"Luke what did she talk to you about?" Thalia asked and Luke just shook his head

"Probably something to do with his love life" I commented to which Luke nodded "Now, let's get moving" I say as I look at the sky to see the constellation of the 'Hunter'

Suddenly, a shooting star shot out of the bow and I smiled as I followed the path of the object. I looked into the distance and saw a large junkyard.

"Well, I guess we have to go that way" I say, "No one take anything, don't touch anything, don't even inspect anything" I finish and everyone nods as we start walking with me in the lead

As we were walking I heard a lot of sounds of amazement but I just tuned them out. After about an hour of walking we finally saw the edge of the junk yard and we quickly made our way towards it, however as soon as we reached the top of a hill the ground shook and I groaned before I turned around and saw Bianca drop a small item. I looked closer and saw that it was a mythomagic figurine before I turned and look at Bianca.

"It's the only one he doesn't have" She said in a depressed tone but I sighed

I picked it up and handed it back to her. I then pulled my bow off my back and watched as a two-hundred-foot-tall automaton rose.

"That looks like Talos" Zoe said but frowned "But it's too small to be the real thing" with that, both she and Bianca pulled their bows out and started shooting at the giant machine

As the arrows hit the robot they bounced off harmlessly and Talos just drew a sword out of a scabbard. As the blade was being drawn, the sound of metal scarping on metal pierced the air and caused everyone to hold their ears in pain.

"I wish instinct were here" I muttered to myself as I started firing arrows at an incredible rate, but none of them did any damage

"Hey Rust Bucket! Over here!" I heard Thalia yell as she raised her spear into the air and lightning struck the tip before arcing out and hitting Talos causing him to stumble

The giant robot raised its sword into the air and swung down, but Thalia was able to get out of the way with relative ease. That's when I noticed Bianca shoot an arrow into Talos' ear and the giant robot just swung his sword to the side toward the new huntress. As Bianca tried to get away she got her foot trapped in a piece of junk and couldn't move.

"Help!" She yelled and I shouldered my bow as I summoned Lunar's light

"Let the power of the hunter aid me" I muttered and I felt a small energy boost as I sprinted toward Bianca who was staring at the quickly approaching sword

I was sprinting at full capacity without the aid of my speed ability when I reached Bianca and swung Lunar's light with both hands at the giant's sword that was only a few feet from Bianca. When the two blades connected I forced myself to hold my ground as I completely stopped the giant sword, causing a massive shockwave that blew everyone who was close by away and dust to rise into the air. I put some extra power into my blade and caused another shockwave that pushed the dust away to reveal me holding the Giant's blade back as it tried to overpower me.

"Zoe! Get Bianca out of here!" I shouted to Zoe who was running over

When she got to Bianca, she quickly helped her get free before the two hunters ran back towards the rest who were staring at me like I was some sort of god.

"Hey big boy, I guess it's my turn eh?" I said with a smirk as I pulled my blade back and jumped away

Talos' sword continued through as I raised Lunar's light above my head.

"Crescent Moon!!" I yelled with an amplified voice as I swung down with all my might

As Lunar's light passed through the air in front of me it shot out a blast of silver energy which grew to match the size of Talos' torso. The energy then launched forward making it look like I was shooting a crescent moon and slammed into Talos creating a massive gash in the giant's body, the power behind the attack also caused Talos to fall back onto the ground with a massive crash.

"We're not done yet" I yelled as I sprinted toward the fallen machine and found a hole in his foot

I willed Lunar's light back into its concealed form as I climbed into the maintenance hatch and soon found myself in a control room as I felt Talos getting up. I quickly grabbed the controls and smirked as I started making Talos punch himself in the face, repeatedly.

"Stop hitting yourself" I called out as I felt Talos stumble back and onto the ground where I felt the giant's joints failing and quickly found myself buried under a bunch of rubble "Well shit"

Zoe's POV:

As soon as I saw Talos hitting itself in the face I knew Percy was in control. But before I could be relieved, the giant fell back down and started crumbling into pieces. I wasted no time in running over to where the pieces of the giant were and started to fling them away as fast as I could. In an instant, everyone else was helping me but I had a sinking feeling that it was no good.

After an hour of constant searching, Thalia and Bianca finally tore me away from searching. I looked at my hands which were cut and bleeding from the sharp metal I had flung away.

"We have to find him!" I shouted as I struggled against Thalia

"He's dead! We searched for hours Zoe, we couldn't find him" Thalia said as she struggled to contain her own tears "The Prophecy said that we would lose one in the land without rain" She said and I nodded but couldn't resign myself to seeing Percy die a second time

"He could still be alive, just one more hour" I pleaded but Thalia shook her head and I hung mine in grief and despair

"Come on, let's get going, Luke Bianca and Grover already got a truck ready to continue heading west" Thalia said as she lugged me along "Please Zoe, don't let Percy's sacrifice be in vain. Let's finish this quest" She pleaded and I didn't move so Thalia just kept dragging me to a truck

'Please be alright Percy, please. You promised' I thought to myself as Thalia finally got me into the bed of the truck and Luke started to drive away 'You promised that I could count on you. Don't go back on it now'

(about another hour later)

Percy's POV:

I sat under the rubble, my arms and legs on strike because of how much energy I had used. I had managed to get a small hole for air to come through and I just stared out of it and into the night sky.

"Hello?" I heard a familiar voice and my hole was covered by a foot which got me angry, I worked really hard for that small air hole

"OI! Get you freaking foot off my air hole!" I yelled with a raspy voice but it worked as the foot soon left the opening and it was soon followed by a small amount of blue hair "Katelyn?"

"Perseus? How in Chaos' fancy underwear did you get down there?" Katelyn said exasperated and I laughed hoarsely

"You know, used Aieon metal and kicked Talos' ass in. Hey, you mind helping me out? I kind of cant move" I rasped out and Katelyn laughed for a moment and suddenly I felt everything above me suddenly disappear as Katelyn leaned over me with an amused expression on her face

"You are one interesting demigod Perseus Jackson, I'll give you that much. Now come on. Hephaestus said he felt his junkyard guardian get it's ass kicked so I flashed down here with a motorcycle that I made for whoever defeated the giant pile of scrap" Kate said as she knelt down and tried to get me up but realized that moving me was harder than it looked "You need to eat a salad" She complained as she pulled me into a sitting position and handed me a flask of nectar, a square of ambrosia, and a gallon jug of water

I wasted no time in downing the nectar, well as much as I was able to have, and devoured the square of ambrosia. By the time I had finished eating the godly food that I was able to move my arms and legs again.

"Thanks Kate," I said as I started chugging the gallon of water like no tomorrow

Once the water was gone I stood up shakily and with the help of Katelyn was able to make it to the motorcycle.

"Alright, this baby will shrink into the size of a void coin. Just press this button to have it shrink and just toss the coin onto the ground to summon the bike, and Perseus, get some freaking sleep, you look like a dead man walking" Katelyn said before flashing away

I just climbed onto the motorcycle as I did a check to make sure I had everything before I started the engine and drove off down the road hoping that the others were alright.

"I'm going to take like, a week-long nap after this" I muttered under my breath as I kept driving
