Percy's POV:

As I was exiting the attic a smooth and silky voice called my name.

"Perseus..."

I turned around to see the Oracle spewing more green smoke but in the middle of the smoke was a woman who looked like she was in her mid-twenties, she was transparent and she had a soft smile on her face.

"Who are you?" I inquired curiously not at all afraid of her

"I am the spirit of Delphi, I have come to warn you and advise you on your quest." She said in a serious voice "You will face many ancient monsters, some that haven't been conquered since the ancient times, I advise you to head to the Saint Louis Arch, there you will find what you need to complete your quest." With that the spirit of Delphi flickered "I must go, the fates are figuring out something isn't right. Good luck Perseus, you'll need it in the coming years, I will do my best to give you information that will help you." At that the Spirit of Delphi disappeared and I turned back around and walked out of the attic and down to the porch where everyone was standing.

Chiron trotted up to me and looked at me with curious eyes.

"So, my boy, getting over the shock of your first Prophecy?" Chiron asked and I nodded just to play along "Very good, now, can we hear the Prophecy?" I nodded

"You shall go west, and face the god who has turned,

You shall find what was stolen, and see it safely returned,

You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend,

And you shall fail to save what matters most, in the end" I repeated the Prophecy flawlessly and Chiron nodded

"Very well, you may choose two companions to..." Chiron starts but I cut him off

"Grover and Annabeth, those are the two people I want as my companions if they should accept" I say quickly and both people come up and nod with smiles gracing their faces

"Of course, we will join you Percy" Grover said and Chiron smiles

"Well, you three better be off, you only have a few days to get back..." Chiron starts again but I cut him off

"We need to get to Olympus and complete the Quest by the Solstice. That much I got from Shane" I say and look at Chiron apologetically for once again cutting him off but he just smiles and shakes his head

"Right, Well Argus has already had the van prepped so you all can leave after you get the required items" Chiron said and I nodded as Annabeth ran to her cabin to get her items as Grover and I just walked to the camp Van

When we got there Grover looked at me.

"So, what else happened up in the attic?" Grover asked and I looked at him weirdly

'Oh right, Satyrs can smell emotions' I thought to myself though where that information came from I have no clue.

"Oh, you probably smelled my confusion. It was just about the Prophecy. I assure you." I say and Grover gives me a look of shock.

"how do you know I can smell emotions? In fact, how did you know how Zeus became the king of the gods? We didn't go over that in class at least not in the details you gave us..." Grover said and my mind raced for an explanation that didn't make me seem untrustworthy

"I don't know, I guess my mom just liked to tell me stories when I was younger, and the information just happened to pop up in my mind when I need it." I said truthfully as I did recall my mom telling stories.

"Alright Percy. So, do you know where we need to be going?" Annabeth asked as she walked up with a backpack and a pair of shoes which she gave to Grover "Those are some of the shoes from the Hermes Cabin, Ethan suggested I use them"

"Yeah, we need to head west, Shane mentioned that hades was angry so I'm assuming the entrance to the underworld is in the west" I say as I fiddle with the ring Phoenix gave me as well as adjust the bow that Phoenix also gave me as well as the quiver

"You alright Percy?" Annabeth asks as we climb into the van and Argus drives out of camp

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just nervous. Hey Argus just drop us off at the bus stop, we can take care of ourselves from there" I say quickly and Argus nods as he keeps driving toward the city

After a while, Argus drops us off at the bus stop and she pulls out an apple and the three of us start playing hack sack with it while we wait for the bus. When the bus shows up the three of us get on and sit in the very back, then I notice Grover stiffen as three old ladies climb on and sit near us.

"Grover, are those monsters?" I whisper to him and he looks at me and nods,

The old ladies stand up and start walking towards me and the others and I get a crazy idea.

"Annabeth, hand me your dagger" I whisper to her and she looks at me incredulously before nodding and handing me her dagger

I take it before standing up and walking towards the old ladies who I noticed were shifting into old leathery hags which I recognized from my trip to the museum. I quickly moved toward the monsters and jabbed at the first one which was unsuspecting as she dissolved into dust as the bus had started moving. I quickly did the same to the second one in line but this one was expecting it as she grabbed my wrist and dug her nails into my skin as she slowly turned to dust.

"Hello honey" I heard the all too familiar voice of Mrs. Dodds say and I had my arm grabbed again and I was pulled forward "This time you won't escape me"

By this point in time, people have noticed the commotion and started to panic as the sight of whatever they saw in my hand, whether it was a knife or a gun. I growled at Mrs. Dodds and I slashed at her to which she dodged.

"Nice try dear Perseus but you'll have to do much better than that to kill me again." She snarls and lunges forward slashing her claws across my chest trying to kill me, however the attacked is blocked by a faint silver shield that appears and stops the attack

I hear the breaking of bones in Mrs. Dodds' hand and I capitalize on the sudden look of 'WTF happened?' on her face. I slash her throat with Annabeth's dagger before plunging it into the side of her neck, causing her to dissolve into dust. By this point every passenger is screaming and Grover and Annabeth rush up to me as the bus stops.

"Let's go, were getting off now." I say and the two nod and we quickly exit the bus and make our way into the surrounding woods

When were about a hundred yards from the bus I turn to Annabeth and hand her back her dagger.

"Thanks Annabeth" I say as she takes her dagger back

"No problem Percy, but how did you stop Alecto's attack? That should have made contact on your chest but it just stopped from what I could see." She asks and I just shrug

"Beats me, I don't know what happened, I'm just happy that we made it out alive" I admitted as the sky was starting to get dark and I smiled slightly as a shadow covered my face

After a while we came across a small house that had stone statues littered across the lawn. My stomach growled and I hugged myself a little.

"Gods' I'm so hungry..." I muttered as we walked up to the house

"Why don't we try and get some food from this place, maybe they will take pity on us" Annabeth said as her stomach growled as well

I nodded as the three of us walked to the door and I knocked on it. After a moment, a woman wearing a head dress and sunglasses appears in the door.

"Hello children, what are you doing at Aunty Em's Garden emporium?" The woman asks with a smooth voice

"Our bus broke down while we were on our way to meet our parents, we got lost and have no food. Will you be willing to help us Ma'am?" Annabeth says and Grover nods

"Well of course I will help you, please, come in" Aunty Em says as she moves back into the building

Annabeth, Grover and I walk and Em leads us to a simple table where we sit down. Em walks to the stove and starts cooking. I notice Grover looking jumpy as if there were a monster nearby but he couldn't see it. At that moment, the words 'Ancient monsters' echoed in my mind and sent it reeling. I looked at Annabeth to see her being really calm. 'Almost too calm...' I thought to myself as Em put plates of food in front of us, Grover got a salad, while Annabeth and I had what appeared to be leftovers from her Refrigerator.

"I'm so happy you children came along, it gets lonely here with just my statues." Em states sadness and I notice Grover and Annabeth gain a dreamish look as they ate their food

'Styx! This isn't good' I thought to myself as Aunty Em looked me over with a look of satisfaction on her face 'Yup, defiantly a monster based on how she is looking at me...' I thought as I tried to continue the conversation

"Do you not get many visitors? Not even family?" I asked curiously trying to gain information from her

Em smiles sadly, a genuine sad smile that almost made me feel sorry for her, almost.

"My sisters had left me a long time ago, I'm afraid I'll never see them again." She said as she looked at Annabeth almost disdainfully "I used to have a boyfriend, but my 'employer' punished me. In all honesty, I think she was jealous of what I had." She finishes as I take a few bites of my food and feel the effects of a mind-numbing potion try to take effect, but my mind was thrown into panic mode as I figured out what monster she was.

'Medusa, that's who she is! Gods it makes sense! Aunty 'Em' as in M, M for Medusa. Medusa had two sisters and turned people to stone, she looks at me like I'm some sort of prize whereas she looks at Annabeth like some sort of demon child. I'm the son of Poseidon and she is the daughter of Athena. This is bad... very, very bad' I thought to myself as Aunty Em said something to Grover and Annabeth that I didn't hear

"Come on Percy, were going to take a picture!" Annabeth said cheerfully and I groaned internally, not only was I not a fan of pictures but pictures by Medusa means the all-expense paid stone treatment.

"Hey Annabeth, Grover. I have a surprise for you! But you have to close your eyes and plug your ears until I say so alright?" I say quickly to my companions and they look at me confused but excited for a surprise and they immediately follow my orders and I mentally facepalm

'They are like little kids right now on their birthday' I mumble to myself as I reach my right arm out toward the sink

Suddenly I feel a tug in my gut as the sink explodes and water flies toward my arm. The water wraps around my arm before freezing into a sharp blade that I swung in front of me as I let my instincts take over.

"Nice try 'Aunty Em' or should I say Medusa!" I growled as she morphed into a hideous snake woman and her head dress fell off but her sunglasses stayed on

"Very astute Perseus Jackson, you're the first one to figure out who I am before it's too late. But you will not live past midnight" Medusa says as she lunges forward toward me

I drop to the ground and roll to the side, just narrowly avoiding a chair as Medusa sailed past me. I stood up and rushed the monster and swing my right arm toward the base of her neck but she just stepped back to avoid the attack, she then surged forward and swiped her claws across my left eye causing me to scream in pain. At that moment, I felt a surge of power flow through me and I straightened up to see Medusa with her sunglasses off looking straight at me.

Third Person POV:

Blood was dripping down Percy's face as he stared straight into Medusa's eyes. His eyes glowing a brilliant silver as he smirked and rushed at Medusa's shocked frame. Percy got within striking distance as he swung his ice arm blade straight at the monster's arms. The blade slid through her flesh like a hot knife through butter and she let out a blood curdling scream.

"H-How?" She said as she backed up "You should be stone!!" She screeched

"I don't have eyes, you monster. Can you see my irises? No, you can't therefore your ability doesn't work on me. Now, I believe I have a job to do." Percy says as he lunges forward again, this time sliding his arm blade across Medusa's neck cleanly as she let out a scream and her body crumbled to dust

Her head rolled on the floor as Percy melted his ice arm and grabbed the head and put it in a bag. His eyes then flickered as the power rushed away from him and he fell back into a chair holding his left eye.

Percy's POV:

"Annabeth, Grover you can look now" I say as I throw a half-eaten burrito at Annabeth who quickly takes her hands out of her ears and opens her eyes

She sees me and she lets out a gasp of horror as she rushes forward with Grover hot on her heels.

"Percy! What happened!!?" Annabeth yelled as she searched frantically in her bag for her bottle of nectar

"Oh nothing, just..." I winced as Grover took my hand from my left eye showing the two the bloody mess it was "Medusa, had put an enchantment on you two with the food, I figured it out and when I attacked her she got a lucky swipe on me, Luckily I had enough sense to grab a large butcher knife and slice her neck open. Her head is currently in that bag over there" I finished as I pointed to a potato sack in the corner

"Percy, I am so, so, so, sorry! I should have been able to help." Grover said and I smiled which caused me to wince in extreme pain

"Ow, but it's alright Grover." I said as Annabeth helped me up and laid me down on the floor away from the monster dust "I think after this... I'm going to take a break from questing, even though it is only my first year, I think this injury is enough. Probably blind in my left eye now" I say seriously to which I see Annabeth holding back tears and Grover openly crying

"J-J-Just hold s-still Percy" Annabeth says as she pours nectar onto the injuries and in turn my eye

I feel the wounds close up and my eyesight returns a little but it's foggy and blurry and I know for a fact that I have scars.

"Thanks guys, mind helping me up? I have a few things I want to do" I say as they shakily help me up and I walk into an office looking place and look around until I find a box, paper, a pen, and some Drachmas

I walk back into the room where Medusa's head is and I pick up the sack and put it in the box before closing it, I then write a letter and mailing address on the paper and read it aloud.

"Dear Olympus,

I have a special gift for you, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Poseidon, thanks for the water powers, they did help in procuring this gift. Also, if you could, please send an eyepatch back as soon as possible.

I then tape the paper with the letter to the box and a coin purse appears and I drop a couple of Drachmas into it, causing it to close before disappearing.

"Was that necessary?" Annabeth asked still sniffling at not being able to do anything to help me fight off Medusa

"Necessary? No. Do I care? No." I say flatly as a small envelop appears on the table and I pick it up before opening it and taking out a completely black eyepatch which I put on over my left eye "Let's get going before we are attacked again. But first, let's raid this place for any and all Drachma's or weapons." I say as I walk back to the office and into the register and take out about $500 in cash and several small bags of Golden Drachmas before walking out with the others

Poseidon's POV on Olympus:

"IT WAS YOUR SON POSEIDON!!! I KNOW IT IS!!! WHO ELSE WOULD STEAL MY BOLT?" Zeus Thundered at me and I just sighed

"I don't know, maybe one of the minor gods who got jealous of your power?" I say with a large amount of boredom in my voice

Zeus just stares at me and I see the gears turning in his head before he sits back.

"Perhaps you are correct brother, sorry for my outburst." Zeus says respectfully and I smile a small smile

"It happens brother, besides I see where you're coming from, after I did take it that one time" I say honestly and Zeus nods

Just then, a girl with red hair and blue eyes appeared in the throne room carrying a box with a piece of paper attached to it.

"My Lords, and Ladies, you have a gift from one... Mr. Jackson" the girl says and she sets it on the ground before going to kneel next to Hermes

"Thank you, Mary," Zeus says before looking at me "Poseidon can you read it since it is from your son?" He continues and I nod as I snap my fingers, causing the package to appear in my hands

"Dear Olympus,

I have a special gift for you, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Poseidon, thanks for the water powers, they did help in procuring this gift. Also, if you could, please send an eyepatch back as soon as possible.

P. Jackson" I read the letter but not the name as Artemis is in the room,

She is still sensitive about her Guardian and the others try to avoid the topic as much as possible. However, I noticed Phoenix look up from the hearth toward the package with a look of curiosity. I shake my head and focus on the current topic, I snap my fingers again and an eyepatch appears as Mary walks over and takes it before disappearing with it.

"Well, are you going to open it?" Apollo said looking eager and I chuckle

I open the box slowly as to build the tension in the room, when it's fully open I gain a confused look on my face as I see a potato sack that looks full. I pull the sack out and dump it on the floor only to jump back onto my throne as the severed head of an old mistake landed at the base of my throne right next to my guardian, who just shields her eyes before nudging it with her foot to test if it was still alive. The throne room was silent for a minute before the quiet was broken by hysterical laughing from Phoenix. Everyone turned toward him and Hestia who, in her own right, was struggling to hold back a laugh but Phoenix was clutching his sides as he was rolling with laughter.

"Phoenix, did you set this up?" Athena asks

"N-No, Milady, I did not. I just find it funny that Poseidon's son is the one to kill Medusa, it was like he was trying to atone for past mistakes" Phoenix says and I notice Athena look at me with slight more respect

"Anyway, what do we do with it?" Demeter says and I gain a thoughtful look before starting to speak

"How about we..."

Percy's POV:

I was getting used to wearing an eyepatch and seeing with only one eye. Let me tell you, it sucked, but hey, that's fate I guess. After we left Medusa's lair we walked to a bus stop where we got train tickets to our next destination. I had convinced Annabeth and Grover that I had a feeling something special was located at the Saint Louis Arch, so that is where we were heading.

We were currently on the train to our destination and I was looking out of the window when I saw a herd of Centaurs galloping by.

'Like the Guardians of the forest' I thought and I suddenly had a massive migraine as I pitched forward causing Annabeth and Grover to yelp in surprise but quickly rush to me to help.

"Percy are you alright?" Annabeth said, concern lacing her voice but I hardly heard it as the word 'Guardian' bounced around in my head

I felt my mouth being opened and a square of ambrosia shoved into it and I started to chew. Suddenly the headache went away as quickly as it arrived, leaving me completely confused. I shook my head and I looked up and smiled a little as I sat back and relaxed as the godly food made me feel better.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Hey, any idea how much longer we have to go?" I ask and Annabeth quickly asks a lady before turning to me and smiling

"Only Half an Hour left Percy" Annabeth says as she sits next to me causing me to feel slightly awkward

'this is going to be a long half hour I feel' I think to myself as I look back out the window.

(Time Skip Half an hour)

We got off the train and walked to the Saint Louis Arch and I looked around.

"Let's go to the top eh?" I say and Annabeth nods her head vigorously causing Grover to laugh a little

A few minutes later I reached the Elevator and was pushed in by a woman with a chihuahua in her arms. Grover and Annabeth were held back from the elevator and I groaned internally.

"Ma'am, I don't think pets aren't allowed on the arch..." I say to the woman who looks at me before scoffing and ignoring me, her dog on the other hand looked at me like I was a fresh meal "Sorry Ma'am, but could you please tell your chihuahua to not do that?" I ask nicely and the woman notices her dog glaring at me

"Oh, don't mind Sonny, he is just excited to see people." The woman says in a tone of voice that made me cringe internally

Soon we made it to the top and I stepped out and looked down and I whistled at the height that we were at. The wind blowing through my hair as I got a feeling of danger behind me. I turned around and noticed that the dog was on the ground growling a much larger growl than it should have and I physically facepalmed.

"Alright, so let me guess, you're a monster that wants me dead and the Chihuahua is also a monster?" I guessed halfheartedly and the woman looked impressed

"Yes, I am Echidna, and this is my Sonny." Echidna motioned to the now growing Chihuahua who grew to a massive size, a snake tail sprouted out of its backend, its teeth grew to the size of steak knives and when it growled I felt heat come from its mouth

I pulled my bow off of my back and grabbed an arrow before I noticed a family of mortals protecting a little girl looking scared and huddling off to the side and I looked at Echidna.

"Let the mortals go, I am the one you want I assume, but let the family go safely." I say seriously and Echidna nods and I nod my head at the mortals who run to the elevator and the little girl yells at me

"Be Careful!" the girl says and I smile slightly

"Aww isn't that cute, but now time for you to die 'hero'" Echidna says as I notch the arrow, draw back my bow and fire it at the oversized monster which I remembered as the Chimera from Mr. Bruner's class back at Yancy

The Chimera jumped to the side as I shouldered my bow and grabbed my spear. I had grabbed my mace canister and summoned my spear as the Chimera opened its jaws and let loose a torrent of flames in my direction, I dived to the side and noticed an opening in the monster's defenses as I charged forward and slammed my spear into the side of the Chimera. But before I could pull back and dodge an attack, the snake tail latched onto my arm and I felt the venom enter my blood stream.

"Gods Damn it! Why! Just WHY!!!!" I yell in anger as I let my spear go and rip my arm away before I pull my bow off and swing it like a baseball bat at the Chimera's tail

It had the desired effect as it stunned the snake long enough for me to grab my spear, but it also broke the bow into half and I sighed internally. Deciding to face the consequences later I pulled my spear free just in time for the Chimera to slash me across the chest and send me stumbling backwards over the edge of the platform. As I fell I put my spear in its canister form before putting it on my belt and on instinct I put the hand that had the ring Phoenix gave to me to my lips and I sent out a small prayer. That's when I hit the water and I feel my consciousness slip away from me like a balloon string covered in butter.

Phoenix's POV:

I just arrived at the Hunter's camp near the Saint Louis Arch. We were here because Artemis had heard that Echidna and the Chimera were in this area.

"Phoenix!" I heard my loving girlfriend shout as she ran up to me and jumped into my arms

I smiled widely as I caught her and spun her around a little before kissing her on the cheek.

"Hey Heather, how are you doing?" I ask and I suddenly hear Percy praying to me "One second, hold that thought, someone needs help" Heather nods but her smile doesn't waver as I unleash my fire wings and launch into the air and see where I need to go

'Wow, what are the flipping odds?' I thought to myself as I went into a dive straight for the Mississippi river where I saw a body splash into it. I land on the river bank downstream as I feel another immortal presence nearby other than Artemis.

After a couple minutes waiting I notice Percy's body floating limp and I leap into the river right next to him. I grab his shirt and drag him to shore where I lay him on his back and check to see if he was breathing.

"Well no shit Phoenix, he is a son of Poseidon he would be able to breathe underwater" I say to myself aloud as I check his pulse to find it faint "Damn it what did you do? Fight the Chimera..." I complain before I notice the snake bite and I curse myself "Yeah, that's what you did you idiot" I put my hands on his arm and channel my healing powers I got from the hearth

Percy's POV:

I woke up on the shore of the river with a guy leaning over me with a look of 'You absolute dumbass' on his face, so naturally I started laughing but it soon turned into coughing and groaning.

"Let me guess, you fought the Chimera and Echidna?" the guy said and I recognized him as Phoenix

"Yeah" I responded

"Poison?" He asked and I nodded

"What happened to your eye?" Phoenix asked and I sighed

"Medusa slashed me, Also I broke the bow you gave me trying to get my spear." I said and Phoenix just shook his head

"You're a mess dude, but don't worry I can heal your eye as well as the scars" Phoenix stated and I nodded

"Alright" I said and he took the eye patch off of my left eye and put his hand on my eye and I started to feel the flesh mending together as well as my vision returning but I knew the scars were still there just fainter

After a while he pulled back and helped me into a sitting position and I blinked experimentally.

"Thanks" I said casually

"No problem dude" Phoenix says and I sat there in awkward silence

"So, is there any way I can get a new bow?" I ask and he looks at me as if he were considering something that would mean the difference between life and death

"Yeah, but you must promise me not to break this one, alright?" Phoenix says as he pulls one of the bows off of his back and hands it to me "This is my best friend's bow, if it breaks, you so owe me"

"I swear on the Styx I won't break this bow" I say as I take the bow and I feel a connection to the bow as an image starts playing in my mind

Flashback:

I was running through the woods with Phoenix next to me, both of our bows in hand as we came to a stop at a large tree.

"Yo, Perce, where do you think it went?" Phoenix asked me and I shrug

"Beats me man, but I think we should stick to the branches, that way we aren't snuck up on." I say and Phoenix nods as we both climb the tree so were on the branches

That's when I see movement, I turn towards it and narrow my eyes to see a large boar rampaging through the forest. I look at Phoenix and he nods as we both get an arrow, notch them, draw our strings back, then let the arrows fly at the same time.

I watched as our arrows converged on the same point on the giant boar. When the arrows struck the boar, it pitched forward as it tumbled head over hooves on the ground. Phoenix and I high fived each other and raced to the dead boar.

"Dude, Arty will be so happy we killed it" I said and Phoenix laughed

Flashback end:

I shake my head as I look at the bow and I feel like a piece of my life has been uncovered and I look at Phoenix and I smile widely.

"Thank you, Phoenix," I say as I stand up and stretch and sling the bow onto my back as if it was pure nature

I had experienced one vision but gained the knowledge of multiple. I didn't know what it meant but I had a feeling it was important. Especially that name 'Arty' I need to figure out who that is.

"No problem Perseus, but let's get you back to your quest mates" Phoenix says and I nod we start walking across the river to the other side

(Time skip like 15 minutes)

Phoenix left me a few minutes ago as I found Annabeth and Grover eating ice cream at a shop, both of them crying. I smirked as I snuck up on Annabeth and whispered in her ear.

"Guess who?" Annabeth screamed as she whirled around and decked me across the face and I stumbled a bit "I guess I deserved that" I said as Annabeth realized who she hit, she then tackled me to the ground and buried her head into my shoulder "Um... what?"

"Don't ever do that again! You scared us half to death! Without you we didn't know where to go. Grover was an emotional wreck and if we had to go back I would be considered a failure..." Annabeth ranted before she pulled away and let me get up and I smiled

"Well, I got what we came here for" I say as I hold out three blue pearls "and I know where we are heading. So, Onwards my friends! To California!" I say as they both smile and get ready that's when they notice my eyepatch gone

"Hey Percy, where's your Eyepatch?" Grover asks and I look at him and smile as I start walking towards the train station

"Oh, a friend healed it for me." I say as they jog to catch up to me

"What was their name?" Annabeth asks

"Phoenix" I say out loud but mentally I finish his name 'Phoenix Firestorm'
