Third Person POV:

An hour after Chaos announced Amber being the new guardian of the hunt, Artemis and Zoe flashed back into the camp to see scorch marks on the ground near the camp fire. Shrugging it off the two walked into Artemis' tent to see Amber standing smugly with the shield on her arm.

Amber bowed to Artemis who was seething with anger. Zoe narrowed her eyes at Amber and let out a growl.

"What in Chaos' name do you think you're doing?" Artemis said in a barely controlled rage

"Waiting for you lady Artemis, I would like to report that I kicked a hunter out of the hunt for breaking their oath of refusing the company of men. She had dark red hair, and a glowing feather in her hair" Amber said proudly

"YOU KICKED HEATHER OUT!!!" Zoe exploded in outrage as she charged Amber, her hunting knives in her hands "I WILL KILL YOU!"

Zoe reached Amber and swung her knives across the new guardian's chest. Amber tried to block with the shield but for some reason, it refused to intercept the strike, forcing Amber to jump back.

"Zoe! Enough!" Artemis commanded and Zoe stopped her assault and returned to Artemis' side "You will replace that shield where you got it, you will not touch that shield, it is not yours" Artemis deadpanned but Amber smiled smugly

"I am sorry Arty but I need all the gear required to be your guardian" Amber said as the shield pulsed and Amber gained a pained expression "Besides, this shield is too beautiful to put down" she said although the look on her face said that the shield didn't feel at all comfortable on her arm

"DON'T CALL ME ARTY!!!" Artemis growled and her eyes pulsed with an unknown power causing Amber to nod quickly and shrink back "Zoe gather the hunt, were moving to Camp Half Blood, Perseus has gone missing in the Labyrinth and Dionysus believes there will be an attack on the camp" Zoe nodded before she ran out of the tent, then Artemis turned to Amber "You will learn your place quickly, first, you are NOT my guardian, you never will be. Second, Heather is under an altered oath, she is able to date one male as long as that male does not break her heart. Third, that male that you apparently threatened was Phoenix, guardian of the hearth, and known as the Hearth's Rage, don't piss him off. And finally, if I ever see you misusing that shield for ANYTHING except defending others I will rip your arm off and take that shield back. It is not meant to protect for selfish reasons, only for selfless reasons. Understand?" Artemis said coldly and Amber nodded "Good, now get ready were heading to Camp Half Blood" Artemis said before she walked out of the tent

"What have I gotten myself into?" Amber muttered under her breath as she followed Artemis "I'm sure I'll be fine, I am the best after all"

(The quest started and the quest has Annabeth, Nico, Luke, Grover, and Tyson (yes, I know it was supposed to be only 4 but there is a method to my madness. To make life simpler, Tyson and Grover already split up before they made it to Briares)

Luke's POV:

I look around and notice we were in what looked like a prison. I heard what sounded like a large person crying and a very scary and hoarse voice.

"Your pathetic and weak, why don't you fade like your brothers you, big pathetic oaf" the scary voice said right before the sound of a whip cracked through the air and the crying voice hissed in pain

I looked over at Annabeth to see her eyes wide in amazement at where we were. I frowned then shook her to snap her back to reality.

"Annabeth, where are we?" I whispered to her and she and Nico look at me

"Isn't it obvious?" Annabeth asked and I raised an eyebrow

"It's Alcatraz Luke" Nico said and I just looked confused but shook it off

"Whatever, we need to figure out who those voices belong to" I said as I started to creep forward through the prison

I heard the others following me silently and I smiled slightly. However, the smile faded as soon as I saw the two beings creating the voices, the scary voice was coming from a monstrosity that should never exist, it had wings, vipers for hair, different animal heads appearing out of its waist, two scimitars at its sides and a whip made purely out of fire, and even more disgusting details.

"Damn she's ugly" I whispered and I heard Nico stifle a laugh

I turned my attention to the other being and was almost as equally grossed out. He had like, a hundred hands, all doing different things, some were arm wrestling, others were making shadow puppets, others were creating and destroying things. The being was also going through so many different personalities I thought my head was going to explode.

"I shall enjoy your pain Briares. If you thought your first imprisonment was unbearable, you have yet to experience true torment. Think on this until I return" the ugly monster laughed before it walked off

Nico, Annabeth, and I raced to the cell with the other being and we stopped in front of it. It looked toward us and I felt like I was under surveillance.

"Who are you?" the being who I assumed was Briares asked in a whisper voice

"I'm Luke, that's Annabeth, and this is Nico" I say pointing to the respective person "Who was that?"

"That was Kampe, the Jailor and torturer" Briares said in a defeated tone "You might as well leave, she will return soon."

I frowned and looked around not seeing anything.

"Why don't you break free? You obviously have enough strength" I stated simply but Briares shook his head

"You do not understand, I am the last of my kind, my brothers have faded, I am all that is left of the fabled hundred handed ones" Briares sulked and I narrowed my eyes "I am weak and pathetic"

"Alright, so say you are weak and pathetic, I won't leave until you convince me to. And the only way to convince me to leave is to beat me in Rock Paper Scissors" I say slyly as a plan formulates in my head

"Very well human, but I must tell you, I never lose in that game" Briares says as I make a fist and he does the same with all one hundred of his

"Rock... Paper... Scissors" I say and when I finish saying scissors I stick my thumb up and index finger out while Briares creates an avalanche of boulders, a month's worth of homework paper, and enough scissors to give to a whole high school class "I win" I say as I wave my finger gun around

"You cheated" Briares says and I smile

"I didn't cheat if it wasn't explained in the rules" I say slyly and Briares sighs "Now come on, open those bars and follow us. Kampe won't even know you're gone until it's too late" I reason and Briares looks at me

"Fine" Briares says as he grabs the bars of his cell and bends them open easier than breathing before stepping out just as Kampe comes around the corner and sees us

"Run!" I shout as Kampe draws two scimitars that look like their dripping with poison

We all turn around and race away, Briares following right behind us.

"YOU WILL ALL PERISH!!!" Kampe yelled back and I turned around and back peddled and pulled a Percy

I raised a closed fist and extended my middle finger as I smirked.

"Nah, I don't feel like perishing any time soon so you can piss off" I said and Kampe screamed in rage as we reached the entrance to the labyrinth

We quickly entered the maze and I closed the entrance just as Kampe reached us. I heard a scream of frustration as I stumbled back and started running away from the entrance, everyone following my lead.

"Never do that again Luke, you just made a very dangerous monster very angry" Annabeth scolded as Briares turned and started walking away "Briares where are you going?"

"To disappear so I may see my brothers again. I wish to fade, goodbye demigods" Briares said without turning around before running off down the maze

"Wait!" Nico yelled but it was no use, Briares was already gone

"It's no use Nico, come on, let's keep moving, we need to find Percy" I said sadly at the loss of a potential ally

Percy's POV:

The blood red light illuminated the walls as we scanned them looking for anything that could tell us where we were.

'There's nothing here, but I can feel us getting closer to another guardian, I'm going to stop the power to not give us away' Instinct said and I nodded as the room went dark

I continued walking forward until an eerie glow slightly illuminated the path. Soon I came up to a large double door with torches on it, the door was made of metal and had many interlocking gears on it. I pressed a button and I heard a standard doorbell ring.

"Damnit!" I hear a familiar voice say and suddenly the door opens and Katelyn is standing there wearing simple mechanics clothes and her blue hair is flowing tied in a ponytail "Why do you always choose the worst times to appear?" she says in a slightly annoyed tone

"Because I show up when people need me" I say sarcastically to which Katelyn smirks

"You aren't wrong. By the way, I am calling in that favor, I need you to head to Mount Saint Helens, and figure out what the source of dark energy is coming from. Then report back to me alright?" Katelyn says as she holds out a Wofrium coin "Use this in a case of emergency. Just yell out Katelyn and a phrase that goes along with 'I could use some help'. I will get the message and instantly be transported to you" Katelyn explains and I nod

"Alright, I'll head there and get back as soon as possible" I say and Katelyn nods as she closes the door

I turn toward the endless darkness as the blood red light lights up the walls again. I try running while using my speed ability but for some reason it doesn't work.

'What the...?' I say mentally to Instinct who is just as confused as I am

'I don't know, let's try something' Instinct says and I nod 'Okay, imagine us appearing at the mouth of Mount Saint Helens. I wonder if this will work...' Instinct directs and I imagine myself at the top of the well-known Volcano before stepping forward

I feel the world around me rip and tear, the air around me warping as if I am defying all logic, then I appear at the top of Mount Saint Helens.

"Holy shit" I say aloud and Instinct's mouth drops open mentally

'Okay that's cool, tiring but cool. Let's head down now' instinct says after a minute of silence and I nod

I jump into the Volcano and fall for a few minutes before landing on the ground with a hard thud., cracking the rock underneath me in the process. I stand up and look around before noticing a bimetal scythe and I get a bad feeling.

'That's Kronos' correct?' Instinct asks and I nod 'Well... fuck... this is bad' He says and I roll my eyes

'No shit Sherlock, that scythe can rip the soul from a demigod and guardian. Of course, it's bad' I think with a deadpan and Instinct sticks his tongue out at me mentally 'Oh real mature' I say sarcastically as I walk over to the weapon and inspect it

It was at that moment I heard voices that sounded like a mix between English, growls, and barks. I cloaked myself quickly before heading towards the voices.

"One more treatment in blood should be sufficient enough" one voice said and I finally got a good look at the monster

It had fish flippers for feet, a dog snout and smelled like wet dog. I gagged slightly at the stench but pushed it away as I snuck up behind one of the monsters. I quickly uncloaked as I extended my hidden blade and shoved my palm into the back of the monster's neck. Its form went rigid for a moment before it exploded into dust. I didn't waste any time as I surged forward and slid the hidden blade across the throat of the other monster causing it to turn into dust as well.

'Well, at least we weren't detected' Instinct thought however, as soon as he thought that I noticed another one of the dog monster things enter the caldera and go rigid

It turned and let out a loud howl causing me to curse as I retracted my hidden blades and summoned lunar's light. However, instead of its normal silver color, the Aieon metal was a crimson red and it made me smile as I moved it to my left hand and pulled riptide out and uncapped the familiar blade. By this time, a large group of the dog snouted fish footed monsters had charged into the room and were running at me.

"Well, I guess I could use some exercise" I said aloud as Instinct stopped my eyes from glowing as I surged forward

I swung Riptide through the neck of one of the monsters before I had to duck under a molten glob of magma.

'Okay, not fair' I thought to instinct and he agreed

I ducked under another glob of magma before I sliced through a few more monsters, that's when the first molten projectile hit me and it burned. I growled as I shrugged off the pain and continue dodging magma and killing monsters. Another handful of magma hit my neck and I shut my eyes in pain as more and more found their mark on my skin.

'Replaced, worthless, and inferior' the three words echoed in my head as I felt the magma land on me and I felt my anger rise until it started to overflow and the ground started to tremble

I let out a primal roar as I felt a painful tug in my gut. The ground beneath me cracked as the monsters stumbled trying to keep their balance. I felt one more handful of magma land on my arm and flung it off as I felt the caldera tremble uncontrollably as the ground shattered below me and I fell into the magma. I let out a final scream of pain and the entire mountain exploded around me as it erupted. I felt myself rocketed out of the volcano and soon lost consciousness.

Nico's POV:

We walked up to door that looked like it was made of gears and was illuminated by a pair of torches. I pressed a button and heard a doorbell ring before the door opened to reveal a pretty angry looking girl with blue hair.

"What do you want!?" the girl yelled and I flinched back slightly

"We are looking for our friend Percy" Annabeth said and the girl sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose

"I sent him on an errand about fifteen minutes ago, he should be heading to Mount Saint Helens so if you want to intercept him take this, I had a feeling someone was searching for him so I built this in the span of those fifteen minutes" The girl said as she handed us a mechanical spider which Annabeth yelped at

The spider turned on and started scampering down the tunnels and I quickly thanked the girl before chasing after it. I heard Luke and Annabeth do the same before racing after me.

"Nico, how can you trust her?" Annabeth questioned

"Because, it's our only way of finding Percy!" I yelled back and I hear Annabeth huff but I ignore it as we run after the spider for a full fifteen minutes non-stop

It was at that moment I felt the temperature rise and I knew we were getting close.

"We're almost there!" I yelled with an excited voice

I was ecstatic at finding Percy and bringing him back to camp, but my hopes were destroyed as I felt a massive earth quake soon followed by the sound of a massive explosion. We all dropped to our knees as we held our ears trying to stop the ringing. That's when I felt the wave of death hit me, my senses were overwhelmed and I knew for certain that Percy was in the center of that explosion.

"He's dead..." I muttered after everything stopped shaking and the ringing in our ears faded "Percy was in the middle of that explosion..." I said quietly

"He can still be alive though, how do you know he died?" Annabeth asked and I looked at her

"I'm a son of Hades, I know when death occurs, and I felt a massive wave of death hit me as soon as the explosion happened. Percy's dead..." I say and I feel tears trail down my face "He's dead..." I muttered and Luke helped me up before pulling me into a hug which Annabeth joined

"I'm sure he found some way to survive" Luke muttered trying to convince himself more than anything

"Let's get back to camp to tell them the news..." Annabeth said and we all nodded as we started our trek back to camp not keen on getting there anytime soon

Percy's POV:

'Hello? Is this working' Someone who sounded like Instinct said but the voice was weaker as if the connection was bad 'HEY DUMBASS CAN YOU HEAR ME?!' the voice said and I huffed

'If anyone's the dumbass it's you' Instinct and I said at once and an image came into view striking both of us speechless

Standing in front of us in an underworld Paradise was an exact copy of Instinct and I but surrounding him was a sea green aura. He had a look in his eyes that said he knew everything which tipped us off to who he was, or rather, what he was.

'Can you see me now?' We nodded 'Good, it's been ages since I was able to contact you. Listen, you're almost able to free me from this insufferable paradise. Yes, I'm your memories, and I contacted you to give you a warning. There is a monster army descending on Camp Half Blood, you need to find Quintus and get him to give you Ariadne's string. You don't need it but we can't allow Kronos' forces to get it either.' He said and I tilted my head in confusion

'What does Quintus have to do with this?' I asked and He facepalmed

'I forgot how much of an idiot you could be' he said and I smirked

'Well, you are technically part of us so your calling yourself an idiot as well' Instinct and I said in sync and we high-fived

'I know, but we got sidetracked, Quintus is Daedalus, he has the string and you need to get off your lazy ass and get the string. My time is up' He said and the vision flickered

'Wait, what do we call you?' I asked and he smirked

'Iota is good for now' Iota said before the vision ended and I felt myself laying in a comfortable bed and I snapped my eyes open

I stared at the ceiling for a few minutes admiring the crystals and the soft voice nearby. After the voice stopped singing, I sat up slowly and cracked my neck.

"Well your finally awake" a smooth voice said and I turned my head and saw a woman with warm caramel colored hair with caramel colored eyes, she wore a Greek styled Chiton "You look familiar..." She said

I felt memories surfacing and I remembered that I had visited Calypso a few times during my guardian training. I smirked at the girl and she frowned.

"Hey Calypso, how are you?" I said which caused her eyes to widen in shock "What? Do I have something on my face?"
