Anger

This was coming to an end; all of it.

I would make Orion suffer, I'd make the shadow of a man who stole me from my family suffer, I'd make Erebus suffer for ruining my family's life- both Mikhail's and mine.

I'd get revenge for everything that has happened.

For little Rose, who we buried in New York.

For Iris, who'd soon die after the battle.

For Ryland, Ryker and Rosemarie, who represented the innocence of my old life being ripped apart.

For Kathleen and her unborn baby.

For Stark, Lorena, Jazz, Draver, Alric and Castor.

For me.

~

"Are you alright?" Stark grabbed my arm, guiding me into his embrace to steady me.

My tears soaked into his shirt as I squeezed him to me, as if trying to merge together with him.

After a few moments, I stepped back and wiped my face roughly with the back of my hand. "I'm good. I just need a second. Everything is just overwhelming-"

I didn't get time to finish my explanation when the roof of the Pack House collapsed within itself, raining down the bodies of the Vasilakis Lycans.

My eyes were automatically driven to Mikhail, who was possessed by Erebus. He hovered over the gaping hole of the roof and before I could reign in her, the Moon Goddess lashed out. I felt her own anger towards Erebus for once, her rage over her children, the Lycans, being slaughtered.

It felt like I was on a roller coaster, my body thrumming with the energy of the Moon Goddess when she lurched forward, grabbing Erebus by the throat before slamming him down into the backyard. We both scraped against dirt, digging a trench with the force of our bodies.

"How dare you! Killing my children in cold blood for your pointless revenge!" I didn't realize that I was the one expelling out the Moon Goddess' voice. Her usual soft stream voice had morphed into the dangerous white water rapids.

My nails elongated as I shifted halfway, my teeth growing into sharp canines. "You want revenge for all those years? Come and get it."

Mikhail shoved his hand out, knotting in my hair and yanking roughly. I shrieked as he slammed his knee it my collarbone. I had a feeling that the only reason it didn't shatter was because of the Moon Goddess' quick reflexes. It felt strange, as if I wasn't in control, yet I was. She was implying the movements with spasms and I was following through.

He swung me by my hair until I rolled onto the bridge over the icy river. He paced like a predator towards me, but within me, Kathleen's fighting spirit forced me to keep my eyes level on his. I was challenging him. This was one fight I wasn't willing to back down from.

Over Mikhail's shoulder, I got a glimpse of war. The Lycans were crashing into the Ancients, blood was soaking up my once prosperous green land. Crimson decorated my 3 brothers as they tore apart a vampire. Lorena was killing everything in her path, frantically looking around for...Iris.

A shadow flickered over my head and I barely had time to react. Kaleesi had Iris by her neck, a silver dagger in her hand. Iris looked beautiful as ever, adorned in simple blue jeans and a red and blue checked flannel. The only horror to her beauty was the slit on her throat. I heard Lorena's wail as red plagued my vision.

Everything happened so fast.

Lorena caught Iris as she fell to the floor just as Kendra tackled Kaleesi. Colored words manifested themselves around the two of them. Scaled webs of green and blue appeared on Kaleesi as she confronted her sister, whose scales of purple and red stretched across her cheeks. They both revealed their true origin; mermaids. The Siren and the Nymph expelled magic towards each other as the dished out their revenge.

I tore my eyes away from the scene just when Mikhail drove his knee into my back. I slammed down into the bridge, my back screaming in pain.

Let me take control, you're not able to sync with me properly- your reactions are slow and it's going to kill you!

I rolled out from under Mikhail, wrapping my leg around his neck to bring his head down into the railing of the bridge.

Without warning, Kathleen took hold of me. My body stiffened and my reaction time was even slower than before. I couldn't block Mikhail's kick to my chest, sending me back down the bridge.

"That's enough!" I growled out loud, knowing fully well they could both hear me. "Give me control. I want your powers, not your dominance."

It wasn't a question. I fought against both of them to gain control of my own body. They both simmered down in their anger, all of it compressed towards Mikhail.

Kill Mikhail. Then he won't have a vessel to hold him. But we can't do it now, we have to wait for all the vampires to die. Just hold him off until then.

I followed her advice, picking up my bruised body to face Mikhail. All of the sudden he stumbled, blood spilling forth from his lips. The familiar brown eyes of Mikhail flickered over the gold and silver.

"Kill me!" he screamed, groaning as he hunched over. "Kill me, Katya, now!"

Mikhail was fighting for control over Erebus and the one who kidnapped me. He was fighting for Rosalie, for me, for the pack and our parents. I couldn't let that opportunity go to waste, not to mention that I clearly wasn't strong enough to kill Mikhail.

NO, KATYA! THE VAMPIRES ARE NOT DEAD! IF YOU KILL HIM NOW THEN HE'LL JUST GET A NEW VESSEL!

I ignored Kathleen and rushed forward, slicing through my half brother's neck with my claws. I sucked in a breath when his body spurted blood from his throat before he dropped to his knees. I choked on a sob when I chose to toss his body down into the river.

Katya...what have you done?

A shivering slither crawled up my back and I looked over my shoulder to see my mate shuddering as Erebus and the man who kidnapped me entered his body.

"Stark!" Castor roared, fighting back against to vampires that had him pinned. Draver set them ablaze while Jazz ripped them off Castor.

I wanted to run towards Stark, to help him fight it, but I was too shocked- frozen in place. I had to kill him. I had to kill Stark. I had to kill my mate.

As Castor ran towards him, I realized that there were no longer sounds of fighting. The Lycans were dead, or too injured to join the fight. We were losing.

I searched for Alric in the crowd of approaching vampires, all standing to watch the fight.

I spotted his mop of dark hair peek from beneath the bridge, near the river.

"Alric!" I called down, stumbling to the railing while keeping a cautious eye on Stark as he struggled to fight the two entities possessing him. Lorena was too far gone to help him, cradling her daughter in her arms. Castor was the only one who could help Stark fight against them. The vampires were closing in- there was only one option left. "I need you to raise the dead."

_________________

this scene is so messy it's not even funny. I'll probably rewrite it again once the story is over. only around 3 chapters left. You're probably wondering where Orion is...( *-* ) Everyone is going to have their own fight scene which I'll do an individual POV- Kaleesi and Kendra/ Kathleen and Orion and Stark/ Erebus and Artemis/ Katya and the man who took her from her family (Shadow)

RIP Iris :'(
